    27:48 Enemy types have been borked since release in relation to this. Occasionally you will run into this on live and it's just absurd how much more dangerous they are. It's the ice type enemies; the ice spiders will shoot out a ranged spread of like 4-5 projectiles, and just 1 of them will almost freeze you. They also do full damage, so if they all hit you're getting frozen and also hit for like 5x normal damage. It's truly insane; one ice spider mob feels like getting hit by 10 melee enemies. If you get hit by a bunch of them at once it's probably the highest "normal mob" damage and CC you can take in the game, ironically far more oppressive than any elite affix. There's a few other base enemies that have CC; ones that come to mind are rogue enemies with some blind/confuse, and the priests that also cause blind. It's noticeable in IH when you get the "knight" type enemies and they are knocking you back and blinding you constantly from range. I run a build that has basically almost permanent unstoppable, but it's still always been very noticeable to me how much of a difference the mob types make in how much you get CC'd and how much damage you take.
    You also run into this with bosses in pits. Every "boss type" has different stats. They're often very subtle, but some are far less subtle. Blood Bishop HP pool is like 3x any other boss. There's one or two that have like 1/2th the HP of others, etc. So huuuuuge difference in the actual power of your enemies at the same monster level, depending on the enemy/boss type. And once you scale up to the very deep pit levels, at least in live, that difference in scaling is the difference between "this is trivial" and "holy shit this is unfair".
    Given how easy and "smoothed out" the game is overall though I wouldn't say this is necessarily bad. Honestly the game could use a lot more surprises and stuff that makes you go "WTF?" it just stands out as something that isn't balanced at all. The same content (say 100, 150, whatever level you want use pits) with randomly generated enemies can go from manageable to 3x as difficult depending on what you RNG as the enemies.

      Hey mate,
      I agree, the crowd control is just a bit too much in some places and hopefully this can be balanced better going forward!

    Everybody should be able to run Pit 100 with an end game powerful competent build. Why - because we need Pit 100 in order to level glyphs.
    What needs to give people challenge is Pit levels higher than 100. Make max Pit level be 150, that way pit 100 can be farmed for glyphs and anything above can be a testing ground for pushers.

    100% Agree on the Rune word hierarchy. You should be able to transform lower to higher and have them drop in the open world. Think that would provide more incentive to spend more time there instead of just always galloping to Helltides/Dungeons/Bosses.

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      Hey man,
      Absolutely, that is the core of what made Runes so special to find in D2 and we don't have any of that in D4 that I can tell right now so it was just a personal thought on what would make them more 'fun' to find and a better economy around them. That being said I applaud the team for trying to be different and take risks. They don't always pay off but at least they are trying and hopefully it will land in a good spot by season release.

      Didn't they mention this was a mechanic in the S6 PTR? I swear they said so and showed some sort of crafting window

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      @PrimalDirective
      So they have the concept of taking old runes and crafting a random rune of the same rarity with a small chance of it becoming one of a higher rarity. So in a sense they do have a way to craft upwards, but it's not intentional like you know 3 x rune 'X' will make 1 x rune 'Y', for example.
      Guess I just really like that system from the past. I applaud the team for trying something new, but I do wish the runes had a little more identity from what everyone knows of them from the past.

    In general (wrote these on the forum like a dozen of times already)
    1 - different difficulties should feel like a different experience, not just a thorny jump-board to get immediately stuck or propell faster sooner
    2 - the whole point of the stat squish is to make additives comparable and viable to the multipliers. If doing 100k damage per hit and equip a chance to summon demon that does 15k = perfectly fine. If on the other hand doing 100M - kiss everything else than a multiplier number increase goodbye.. Let alone things that can be experimented on in the future and things like
    * DoT gains life per kill per tick
    * Overpower happens twice in succession
    * LH hits twice in succession
    * Basic attacks now include Thorns damage
    * ATK rating includes thorns damage
    * DEF rating includes thorns damage
    * While having barrier thorns doubled
    * Overpower bonus is applied twice against Vulnerable targets
    e.t.c.
    Like - if the game goes into the 6 digit territory, kiss goodbye to everything cool that there can be
    3 - Tempering is fine, we need reason not to temper. Suggested an alternative mechanics - Imbuing an item - Makes one stat GA on gear and adds additional Socket place (3-way Runeword and a GA guaranteed as opposed to Temper)
    And to be frank, I think it would be better if they nerf the Runewords baseline (ie not that applicable and reliable by themselves), that way new sockets and/or affixes can be added on gear
    * +x% Rune potency
    * +x% Rune power
    And from there onwards can focus on new content creation and not waste precious time overhauling everything
    * The game is as quality as the amount of options it offers
    * The game is as interesting as it's playful between altercations of successes and failures
    * The game lasts as long as it's nastiest monsters (not monster, different monsters need to stand undefeated for different people/builds)
    * The game should comprise of nice (not powerful) things
    That's it from me, sorry for the TLDR I guess, but was a nice vid so wanted to post my views on this 😊

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому +1

      Hey man,
      Thank you for the length feedback, really appreciate it.
      Yes I agree that the difficulties should feel like their own individual steps up, and for the most part it did feel that way a bit more than it has done. It wasn't perfect but it definitely felt more progressing than just jumping from WT2 -> WT4 -> Level 55 -> Endgame, which is the current route of progression on Live.
      Yes the stat squish had it's intentions, but it certainly failed in the endgame as reported by a lot of people already. Your experimentation ideas are interesting however and I think they should absolutely look into more loot interactions such as those to open up new ways of playing and building characters, which also add value to other stats that aren't just Attack Speed, Crit Chance, Crit Damage, Vulnereable Damage etc....
      The damage numbers were still getting absolutely insane by the endgame, possibly even bigger than before which I think this is just a symptom of the game being constructed around loads of multipliers. I reckon they'l look at that prior to the season release though.
      Other methods of crafting would be extremely welcome. Not sure I agree that tempering is fine. I think the system is ok, but as a game developer myself I disagree that full random is a good system. Full random is rarely good in a game system, so however they would like to go around it, I would really like to see them upgrade that system to allow more control over the crafting. Something like a resource to allow better chances of getting what you want from the tempering for example.
      I was very torn on the Runes personally. I think the system is interesting but they don't really have the indentity of Runes that made them so popular in D2. I'm not suggesting they should just copy how they were there, but I feel they threw out absolutely everything about what mades runes what they were in D2 in favour of a new system, and now it's just something completely new, and probably should of been called something else to be honest. I suppose we shall see what they do with the feedback as right now there are 2 quite clear winners in the end game and that makes the rest redundant which is a little sad.
      I think they have had no choice but to overhaul the game in some way up until now. They game was basically released in a state that wasn't complete and they've been combatting that since. I think after the expansion the game will be far closer to that (even if it requires balancing still), which means they can focus more on new content and fine tuning the current content.
      Thank you for all your feedback. The more of us that give feedback like this, the better chance there is that the game will move towards an improved state which is what we all want at the end of the day.

    I love the changes that will give me something to work towards! I don’t want to be done with my gear and the season in 2 weeks then just like “ok I guess I’ll wait until next season”. Also, I am seeing a lot of contradictions in videos. Feedback of “we need more gear drops to take away the grind” and then in the same video saying “make tunes so rare you have to grind them out”. If you make runes a grind you will get your gear along the way. I would agree with making runes rare but the grind for them would then give you all the gear drops over time you would need.

      I totally see your point and I don't want to be done in the season in 2 weeks either. I may not of been completely coherant in this video which I can work out, it's my first attempt at one so I shall look to improve on that next time.
      Hopefully come the season release the itemisation progress will feel good and take a while to achieve top end god tier levels of equipment rather than just a few days.

    Just a tip on easier way to get Legendaries on the PTR - keep asking the Cheat vendor to fully boost your character.
    Doing this resets all items on your character, meaning you get a full new set of Legendary gear.
    You have to be careful to not have anything in your inventory you dont want to lose, is still a bad way of getting legendaries but is miles better compared to hoping on obol vendor.
    As another PTR ask from Blizzard - change all Obol costs to 1 unit for PTR, there is no reason at all to asking the cheat vendor for 2500 obols just to spend them in 30 secs and have to go cheat some obols again , and again, and again.
    Absolutely agree with you on the amount of materials cheat vendor provides - why can't he give us max amount with a single ask? Especially annoying with masterworking mats.
    Also why is max amount of gems 1 mil? Might have worked in older seasons, but S6 has a gem tier needing 100k fragments. Bump the max amount to 1 bil or drop the gem costs and drop rates by 100.

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      So I see your point but that one does bring it's own set of design issues. They would need to fundamentally change the drop tables for the bosses if that's the case and make it so they don't have a super high chance for mythics like the rest of the game, just a bit higher than out in the wild maybe, which is heading back towards D2 style looting. I guess that's probably too anti-casual. If they didn't do this it would break the game economy very fast!

It would only be one stash tab but each character would have one for their load out gear for themselves. Picking obducite as the only MW mat seems weird to me. Not a big deal, just an aesthetic thing, but neathiron seems so much more "thematic" for the blacksmithing/masterworking theme, obducite on OTOH is some lame cheap mat. It's like if the endgame material for enchanting was leather scraps instead of souls or whatever.

      Hey man,
      Yer it did seem strange that they chose Obducite to me not Neathiron but I guess it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. What I find more odd is that they seem unwilling to use different colours for different things. They keep using the same colours for new things that are already used, which makes it harder to determine that it's different to loot. Obducite being the rare yellow colour for example. I wish they'd make these there own colour so it's easier to see, but I guess this is a minor gripe.

    Great feedback!
    - Calling them runewords are a shame. Theses are not runewords but just something else. I really don't like them overall. Most of em are useless( ex: wolf rune do like 4k damage and you do over 1M. Wtf Blizzard? I can't beleive they put shit like that)
    - Paragon boards are not that good. Some skills benefits a lot and some have mostly nothing. A big rework is needed.
    - I think that every class should have a channeling skill while moving(like whirlwind and dance of knives)
    - progression is good and I think they did a good job.
    - ancestrals drop rate needs a little buff but not too much
    - tempering is better but I think some skills need something more like the rogue's damage per shroud. This is OP imo.
    - Druid's wolf pets are a joke. They need to have the same treatment as Necro's minions.
    - world Bosses are boring. You just stay in their attack and kill it. I think at least they should have a stackable damage like the pit bosses/ torm bosses. Some challenge is more needed especially on T2+.
    - removing the stygian stones to summon torm bosses is a good change.
    - the new difficulty system is a nice change imo. Not everyone is a speedrunner. Many casual players are playing D4.

    I hope rare drops stay rare and hard to get. The journey of Diablo is leveling and gearing up, currently the entire gearing part of the game is entirely nullified with how hard gear is to get, even 1/100 the rare now would be too much.... But it's an improvement for sure, will make the journey a lot better for us who play 300+ hours a season.

      Hey man,
      I agree to some degree. I think my issue was more the idea of where to go to get the drops I guess. D2 for example had all the different drop tables and if you knew where to farm, you could eventually get what you were looking for. Nightmate Andariel for a Stone of Jordan for example!
      I think the loot journey should be interesting next season where we all start for literal scratch and can't target farm uniques so easily until the very end game.
      Thanks for the comment and insights!

      Hey @Pazrael007,
      Thanks for checking out the video and your comments are valid concerns. I preferred d2 where there was less loot but the value was generally higher because of the design of the itemisation I guess, but as things are in D4 right now that's tricky. My suggestion for bosses was just one off the top of my head that could help but it does create an issue with picking up items for sure. They probably should balance the higher pits around having better ancestral drop rates.
      I was doing multiple 90+ pits pretty fast in my testing and rarely dropped ancestrals, this is content that a significant portion of people will never get to in reality so I feel it probably should be more rewarding in this sense.
      To be fair, pets auto salvaging is something we all want anyway!

      Hey man,
      I think it's ok to make the hardest bosses drop less loot but they are clearly going that way to remove the need to pick up lots of loot, it's probably just gone a bit too hard on that angle. I imagine some balancing will be made before the season release!

      @@imortilizeofficial honestly I uninstalled the game after trying the PTR. Not interested I. Supporting the failed attempt at making this game feel like d2, I’ve hated the glyph system since the start of the game. Bring it back to plus skills and some % damage which every bit of when found feels good.
      Tye problem we have is 50% damage increase shouldn’t even exist in the game. The amount of hp stuff has in t4 is absolutely stupid. World bosses are just spa dummies, if you can’t do trillions of dmg, good luck killing one in the time available, that is a huge problem, now if you try to simmer down character dmg all of that has to change to.
      They add new skills but don’t rebalance others, they gut passives and skills because they broke the game and instead of balancing, we just stop using them entirely. I mean, barbs 45% dmg increase would be awesome paying double fury if items themselves didn’t do that and legendary powers, people would then figure out how to resource manage to see what build could properly use that specific passive.
      Ancestral drops I agree is a problem but there is sooo much more

      All fair points and it's a shame that you felt the need to uninstall, but maybe a bit further down the line the game will be in a better place and you may want to give it another go. Thank you for the insights though.

    I want to have a level of the game that requires something harder (not close to impossible) to get to access it. I want t4 to be gated by Ancestral requirements. Don’t make it easy please.

      Hey man,
      I agree, challenge is good for sure. I think my issue was more clarity on what to do next in order to move forward other than mindless farming. That being said we only have half the games features in the PTR that will be available with the expansion so that's something to be excited for and that may just resolve the issues!

    I think scaling down higher end monster HP and scaling down Multiplicative multipliers will help acheive an actual stat squish.
    Making Pit scale past 100 is a great way to provide an additional challenge. We also know they are working on Tier 9/10 Hordes which adds more true endgame content. Theres also the
    I kinda like Wudi's idea also of limiting the amount of Mythics you can wear. Id be fine with limiting it to 1 per toon.
    As a sidenote on Mythics... remove the holy bolts from Tyraels... People use it for its defenses anyway, Im truly tired of seeing the holy bolts on every build guide i watch.
    Tempering, It feels very obvious that certain things are weighted to be harder to get. With the amount of loot we get (Ive only experienced up to s5) i dont think bricking is THAT big of a problem. It doesnt take too long to get another viable item to temper. I would lean towards let us temper 2 categories on non ancestrals.
    Legions - desperately need a purpose. They are super easy because they are group events maybe give them increase chances for butcher, Son of malphas, and hellborne ambushes. Let them pay out more for whispers? Orrrrr Let them drop Masterworking materials?
    i am soooooooo looking forward to party finder. As a Console player, ROTAs and Trading are more work than i want to deal with. People claim Mythics are easy to get but without those 2 things, they are not that easy to get.
    I think it would be cool to add a low Chance to drop Mythics and high level Runes to Lillith.
    Overall, i didnt get to play the PTR myself which also sucks as a console player but thanks to all the amazing folks like you imortilize who did participate and record it we have places to discuss and leave feedback. We all kno Blizzard is watching. They did an amazing job turning around Season 5 after the S5 PTR!!!!

      Hey man,
      Totally agree, too many multiplier going on really.
      Fair points on the tempering, although it could use a little work one way or another to be honest, it's just a bit too random right now.
      Agreed for legions and console players. The party finder will be excellent for you guys, I'm going to be happy for you all!
      Absolutely, I'm happy to be able to play a small part in creating a platform for everyone to leave their ideas, comments, thoughts, opinions and so on, with the aim that we can all strive to get to the game we all want. Lets hope season 6 can be turned around in the same way!

    While testing leveling you could still twink because of all the mats, gold, legacy items, etc…. It was too easy. Play testing leveling should start with nothing. I thin be k we all would have different opinions on how the progression actually is.

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      I fully agree with this although I can honestly say I didn't use any of my gold or mats when levelling my first character on the PTR. I conciously decided to play like it was a fresh character on a new season and used gold according to what I was making (As close to what I could at least). I think people would progress a little slower, especially without the known exploits that are likely to be fixed as well.
      Thank you for the insights though, really appreciate the comment.

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      Hey mate,
      I guess they were kind of not really used much anyway by the majority of players which is probably why. It might seem bad to some people but overall I think it will make the loot progression feel a little easier to understand for those that aren't used to the loot system and are new to the game.

  • @____GoMeZ____
    @____GoMeZ____ 3 місяці тому +4

    Disagree that item progression has to be smooth, we already have smooth difficulty curves. Not everything has to be smooth and easy, I actually really like how non ancestral items are much weaker, because we actually get excited when ancestrals drop. When you smooth everything out, you lose the excitement.
    Temper failures are part of Diablo. In D2 when you cube sockets into gear, you aren't guaranteed to get the amount you want. What does that mean? Back to farming....I dont understand where this laziness came from from ARPG players recently. If your wishes for the game to give you everything, you'll be done with it in a week and put the game down. (IE IT GETS BORING ASFFF)
    -Boss loot drops HAD to be adjusted. Being showered in loot and leaving PILES of items on the ground was bad design.
    -Runes need balance changes but the rarity of them is good. The idea of them is also good. In fact I think they're better designed than D2s but just keep the powerful ones rare and boost up the weaker ones to be more useful. I actually think chest armor, pants and helms should have 4 sockets where rune words can go up to 4, but a minimum of 2. This would require a LOT of balance changes but make them more interesting than just 2 in each which is somewhat boring design. I'd love to see them be more creative like allowing you to rez skeletons or transform into a bear. A bear sorc would just be super fun!
    -Progression around level 35 trying to reach penitent is a bit annoying. I'd like to be able to challenge myself earlier on and get into Penitent much earlier than level 50. This feels JUST like World Tier 3 in the live server where you spend a very short amount of time from 50-60....I think thats bad design.
    -Lots of bugs and items dealing far more damage than intended but thats whatever, it'll get patched....
    -Bring back OP Liilith where she's nearly impossible to defeat, we need Pinnacle content back that forces us to REALLY have a perfect build or near perfect, so we can test our true power. (Everything is too easy) Maybe Echo of Mephisto will become that new challenge that the game desperately needs.
    -They need to squish gold costs for things. There should be no reason why we're still spending millions to billions of gold for things. Why not change that as well?
    -Early game Druid needs help. Every skill is just way weaker than other classes, it's rather glaringly poor balance.
    -Pit 100 is closer to live server 140, not 200 lol. IDK why they nerfed it so badly, WE NEED CHALLENGE!
    Despite what sound like complaints, i had a blast in PTR and cant wait for VOH. The PTR was just a small portion of whats to come!

      I don't disagree with your comments and some of the ideas I came up with were just off the top of my head ideas. It's interesting to hear another persons opinion and difference on ideas for sure.
      I also had a blast in the PTR for the most part and am super excited for the VoH expansion. Hopefully bring some much needed freshness to the game!

      I'm sorry to feel this way. I thought the new gearing was ok for the most part to be fair. A few issues but it is a PTR remember, and half of the game features were not available to us + the expansion is coming with a whole load more features as well. These may all help to complete the puzzle and fill the gaps in terms of looting, I guess we shall have to wait and see!

    This game should have zero economy until it has an ingame auction house. Until then trading should be disabled imo.

    • @imortilizeofficial
      @imortilizeofficial  3 місяці тому

      Hey man,
      I'm not sure I entirely agree with this but I appreciate your opinion and at the moment trading is obviously allowing immense inflation in game. This would be somewhat better if the economy was focused around a different currency (runes for example), and especially if they are rare to get. None the less if there was no trading at all, it would have it's own set of issues and there would be a lot of people that would not like that too, so Blizzard can't really win on that front I'd say.
      Thank you for the comment!
