    Yesterday saw my doc an I am officially 48 pounds down since March 13th...more to go. I'm only on the lowest dosage and for weeks it has been wearing off quite a bit, but I am still eating as I was while it was more effective at shutting off the food voice in my head. I track every morsel I eat.
    Oh yeah and my A1c dropped from a 6.9 in March to a 5.8 as of yesterday. I really feel this is more about my current food choices more than anything so far. I test so much I'm going to need more fingers.

    I’ve been on Wegovy since February. I’ve lost 30-38 pounds so far. Started at 296 I’m now at 258 and I’ve been on 1.00 dosage since April. I feel like I’m hitting a plateau. I’m considering going up to 1.7 mg. I have Crohns. This med have caused nausea constipation dehydration. I only want to be on this for 6 months max as I needed a boost to loose weight. I’m just now starting to feel like I can walk and exercise safely without asthma and joint issues. I take miralax for constipation. I feel the difference overall though I can actually paint my toes and do my own pedicure without any help. I eat very healthy but I need more tips. I’m glad I stumbled upon your videos it’s been very helpful. Thank you and continued blessings to you.

    Greetings from Germany, very helpful videos on your chanel.
    I started with my first 0.25 shot Mounjaro for weight loss last Saturday, absolutely no appetite, nit hungry at all, have to force myself to eat but fortunately no side effects for now.
    I am trying to eat small portions of a low carb high protein diet at noon and diner and have a coffee with almond milk and weigh protein for breakfast plus plan regular sports 5 days a week (7 second workout, cycling, nordic walking, hiking). A similar program without magic injections helped me to losse 20 kilo 6 years ago - unfortunately i was obviously able to keep my weight mostly through a changed attitude towards eating and sports and increased muscle mass. So in principle i know what to do.
    But since last summer i gained 15 kilos after a broken leg, Covid, a broken rib … with little to no sports from August to now and by now a bad fat to muscle ratio. My knees and feet are hurting because of the additional weight and I also have cravings until now unknown to me. According to my doctor i am pre-diabetic again with an insuline resistance, meaning as little carbs as possible for a while until this is back to normal.
    The idea is that i take the lowest dose of Mounjaro until inhave lost enough weight to be able to walk / hike / workout without a hurting body, build up muscles again and stay on the lowest dose as long as possible. Once the muscles are back and the (last week) uncontrollable craving for sugar and carbs is gone, i hope to keep my diet without injections. It used to work for 5 years.
    Do you think this is enough to prevent a jojo effect?
    Should i phase out with shots every 2 weeks / once a moth or change from the pen to injections and only use half a dose of the 0.25?
    Greetings from Munich and many thanks for the helpful information, Sabine

    I am shocked that people are losing 5-6 lbs a week! Makes me feel a bit bad about myself, I’m on week 5 on .5 and am only down 11 lbs. I cannot eat less. In fact, I have a hard time eating anything. Trying to drink protein shakes to at least get some protein in and am walking 45 minutes plus weight training 5 days a week. I do have a thyroid issue so my metabolism is shot. Just feeling like I’m on the low end of this spectrum

    The only med my insurance would pay for is Byduereon BCise today is my 4th injection . I’ve lost about 8lbs but my weight goes up and down by 3 to 5 lbs constantly. I do still feel hungry but when I eat I know when I’m done because I just can’t eat another bite and I am eating less. I would like to know how much protein I should eat and how many calories and what about carbs? I need some numbers to follow. Your videos are so helpful.

    • @GoodDrG
      @GoodDrG  Місяць тому +1

      HEY! Thanks for this inciteful and very common question I get during my consults. The long answer to how much protein you need per day would require a consult has everything to do with your current height, age, weight and level of activity. The short answer I have noted in practice patient typically need between 1.2-1.5g per kg body per day while on these medications in order to BUILD muscle. Protein intake of 1.0-1.2g/kg/day seems to keep most of the muscle mass on most patients and may build some muscle. Intake of less than 1.0g/kg/day tends to drop some lean muscle mass. Hey is to get as close as you can to the goal as possible. Obviously there is more to it to personalize it for each patient but that is the basics. Check out this really cool TDEE calculator I use all the time when helping patients figuring this out while on their journey. tdeecalculator.net/

Not sure if that means 2.5 to 5 BUT the increase was necessary as after my 5th shot I had minimal appetite suppression. I used that week to really stay focused on what I was eating and my portions. Do you recommend adding Lipostat in conjunction with the tirzepatide injections?

    • @GoodDrG
      @GoodDrG  Місяць тому +2

      Hey! Not at all necessary if you are eating a diet with the correct nutrition. But also remember everything we put into our system has the potential of side effects. Lipotstat shots ( which are a mixture of various vitamins and sometimes even phentermine!) can cause GI issues much like GLP1 agonists. It is not common but they CAN HAPPEN. So let's say you do have a side effect. Now we do not know if this side effect is from the lipostat or from the GLP1 agonist!. 😬 Besides the weight loss benefits from the lipostat is miniscule in comparison to what you can get form the GLP1 agonist. I question the risk versus reward with a GLP1 agonist + Lipostat weight loss plan. I like to make the process simple as possible. That way trouble shooting is a lot easier. Thanks for this question and good luck!!
