2010 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5l 5-Cylinder Engine 5spd Manual Transmission. When your mounts go bad, you replace them. Im installing the 034 Motorsport 60 durometer engine and transmission mount, as well as, the Spulen rear pendulum mount with insert. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE OVER STOCK!

Hey my man, I went with the exact same set up as you on my 2010 Jetta Sportwagon. I don’t mind the little vibration at idle. I also have a straight exhaust from the cat back, but it is absolutely awesome!!

A mechanic told me today i need new motor mounts because my car shakes and steering wheel vibrates when i go above 60. Do you think its motor mounts?
It could be, but it could be other things as well.
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Quick question, you said the engine mounts stiffen up the shifting, would a shifter/short shifter kit like a diesel geek be a worthy addition to this set up or overkill (relating to the factory 5speed manual) ?
Would be a good addition. This wont shorten the throw. It just gets into gear better.
So from someone who has had constant reoccurring drive axle failures, and someone who had only fixed the left transmission mount… could the other mounts effect my axles? Like my engine is at an angle or something? I have not found much videos on my golf
It’s possible. All the mounts keep the drivetrain in alignment.
What’s the torque specs ? And where do you find that information? Cuz I. Can’t find it online tho
Haynes manual has torque spec values. I recommend picking one up for your vehicle.

Now that you've had some time for the mounts the break in, would you say there is a noticeable change in NVH now compared to Day 1 of the install?
A couple people have reported that the 034 mounts soften quickly causing the return of engine movement. How have the 034 mounts held up? Are they still performing well and keeping the engine snug?
Regarding the Spulen Dogbone, any reason you didn't go with the 034 dogbone arm and inserts?
The 034 mounts are still holding strong. They did break in and soften slightly, but not really noticeable.
I went with Spulen because I was being cheap 🤣
When I do my 6spd swap I want to get the 034 dogbone mount with their bushings (since I will have the subframe out).
@@VoyageRC Got it. Appreciate the reply. Currently planning to go with oem motor and trans mounts, and the 034 dogbone with the billet inserts for the oem dogbone puck mounts. Hoping that hits the right balance of low NVH and improved shifting (already have all the desielgeek stuff). I can feel my transmission tossing and turning when I row from 1st to 2nd. If the nvh is tolerable I may step up to the density dogbone puck mounts, and then if thats still tolerable the street density motor and transmission mounts. Gotta find the right balance.
I magically have no power brakes after doing these 3. is there anything during this process I would have had to move to cause this issue?
The vacuum line from the vacuum pump to the brake booster is on the transmission side. Check that side to make sure all is good.
@@VoyageRC Yeah I found the vacuum line going to the brake booster was cracked on the bottom side. plastic was so brittle it would have probably broken at some point anyway

Hey man I'm working on this car now actually snapped that pass side mount . Can you PLEASE tell me how you got that far back bolt off the boomerang mount . I found no clearance for tools & you made it look very easy . Thanks!

how the heck did you get out that one deep engine side mount bolt? clearance is very minimal
The one that lines up with the hole in the fender? Passenger side.

@@timjoo5690 I dont think the mounts had any effect on the sound. I am factory CAT with nothing but open pipe behind it.
Can this job be done with wheel ramps or do I need to jack the car up on all four?
