On a scale of "1" to "I dont want to see that again", how was that intro?
It was a bit creepy - but it wouldn't put me off watching more of your videos
Yeah, that look was kinda goofy, and somewhat unsettling. a tad serial killeresque, but, funny. The rest of the video, you seem like a normal dude.
@@cplee9056 🤣 I promise I’m not a serial killer.
Just did this job on my 2010 golf 2.5 with the 5 speed. The oil pan to the motor was in the ay and I had to unbolt the engine mount and jack up the motor about an inch to get that long bolt to clear, busted my coolant expansion tank in the process. so that was fun. Overall not too bad of a job and still have the do the dirverside! Great video
Thank you! It sucks to run into issues, but hey, these cars are getting old and some of the plastics will be brittle. Driver side should be a piece of cake now!
I've seen another video, for the MkV GTi with the DSG gearbox, and changing the left hand side arm was much more difficult.
Another factor in favour of a manual gearbox.
We don't get the 5 cylinder (V5?) model here in NZ, yours sounds fanstastic! (not standard I guess?).
BTW - Drink Irn-Bru! 😂
One more thing - I've seen that some alloy lower control arms can allow more adjustment of camber and caster. Did you consider those, or stick with arms that give the standard set up?
@@JakobusVdL standard. It’s an in-line 5. And my exhaust is not standard 😉
@@VoyageRC I see that the engine shares its cylinder head with the Lamborghini.
Great no standard exhaust, it certainly makes a lovely noise.
Does golf shares the same set of lower control arm bushings with Audi TT mk2? Are they direct fit on to golf?
Great video!!! I have a 2007 just like yours and i'm thinking about doing the same project. Question: I hear a lot of noise when I turn the wheel left and right just sitting in the driveway, sounds like bushings, but just wanted to make sure before I went and plunked down some $$ on some parts.
That exhaust sounds nice
👌🏻
Great video bro. Very easy to follow along for the newbie DIY. BTW. Those wheels are nice, what size are they? The gold matches very well.

Can you please do a video on the safe jackstand points under the vehicle? My understanding is that the point where the lower control arms connect to the body isn't safe.
I can't seem to find any good information for this vehicle beyond the standard pinch weld approved locations. Thanks!
I agree, that would be really helpful information.
didn't you have to torque ther bushings with the suspension being at ride height?
also did you lose a lot of comfort? softness?
No comfort loss. I had no issues torquing the bushings like this. You can do it at ride height.
After replacing all the front suspension to find out where the clunking noise is coming out, my poly bushes are somewhere far, far in the field and OE back in place....
Cool video! Do the B6 Passat arms change any steering angles? I've heard maybe that it changes caster just a smidge and makes steering feel sharper; can you confirm? Doing poly bushings and a 'deadset' kit on my MK5 Jetta soon and figured it'd be a cool upgrade while I'm in there, if they're worth it.
The biggest difference was the poly bushings. The arms are lighter. No changes that I’ve noticed in alignment.
So the oil pan isn't in the way of the bolt removal for the driver side lower control arm bushing?
I had no issues on my Mk5 with the 2.5 and 5spd manual.
@@VoyageRC ohh ok then that's probly the difference then..my girl has the automatic 2.5 ..thanks bro! Love the whip btw
@@chayanesanabria5104 thank you!
So the overall verdict is they are better? How does the polyurethane hold up now it’s been a year? Seems my shit is always cracking… could just be Illinois though.
They have held up well here in Arizona.
The front control arm bushing bolt shouldve been torqued with the weight of the vehicle on the ground. FYI!
That’s literally impossible, how are you gonna fit under the car with it on the ground? Wtf hahaha
@@ryanwaterman3473 🤣🤣
@@ryanwaterman3473 just jack up the suspension arm?
no need for poly bush, for stock bush yes
Except poly bushes, as they don't come in one piece
Don't do it
Why do you say that?
@@VoyageRC it didn't seem like you but i don't know you I guess
@@californiaprofile the intro?
@@VoyageRC yea the car stuff is cool
