Dude, this helped a lot. Thanks. I had mine giving a low input error. I scanned it using a bluetooth OBD2 scanner on the road. The temp dial was going up and down and the car started overheating. Had to tow it. Will buy new one and install it using ur directions. Thanks man
Roger Archer, thank so very kindly For your video. It has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. My engine light came on after coming home from work on the Mazda 6 I'm financing haven't even had the car over 2 months and of Course they say it's not covered so I went and bought an odb2 scanner and got this code so now with your help I can fix it on my own and save myself money and stress. Ur the man !!!! I subd to your channel to :)
thanks Roger! excellent video! Helped me so much. From the other videos I saw, it was at the bottom left near the belts. I was happily surprised it's in a somewhat better location. LOL I would make a suggestion though. Please turn your camera horizontal. :-) Great walkthrough!
i have to change my engine temp sensor and i couldn't find it and thanx to u!!! now i know where it is.. thank u for this video.. hopefully it takes my check engine light off.
Thank you. With me being a woman. Men are constantly trying to over charge me for a 5 minute job. This is really appreciated.... can't wait to do it myself tomorrow
Fast and easy. My 2008 Mazda was throwing p0126 code and the other one....was it P0127 or po128.....anyway. Two codes that sound the same about slow to warm up coolant temperature. I scanned it with a cheap ODBII scanner that links with my phone. My car was operating just like it should as far as the Temp gauge on the dash is concerned so I suspected that the Thermostat was just fine and changing this sensor was all I needed to do. I was right. i put on some music and settled in for the job. I didn't even get through the second song and i was done. Seriously took about 7 minutes. I cleared the codes and the engine light hasnt returned. Fastest and easiest car repair ever.
Thanks Roger ! Very good video and explanation. Can the people at the auto parts store reset the code after it is replaced ? I hate re-programming all my radio stations after removing the battery cables.
Thanks for the video ... can you tell me where the other end runs to ...I cannot find the connector that plugs into the temp sending unit like on this video... so can you maybe give me an ideal of from one end of the connector wire to the other of how it runs from the wiring harness.. i had my engine rebuilt and that is all i like finding to plug back in.. thanks.
Hey 😊 I have a 2006 mazda 6s sport wagon. Is that what you're working on in this video? I bought a "temperature sensor" and it looks different. It's shaped more like an "L".
Over heating is numero uno. But it can also cause problems with you radiator as the fans dont kick on. This causes your coolant to burn and loose its ability to serve its purpose inside the engine creating more opportunities for clogs.
The fan has a different sensor to control that...this was for the computer in the car to clear the code for engine coolant sensor there's a engine fan sensor also
Not necissarily. The ect tells the computer it meeds to activate the fans. Your radiator fans are not constantly running. If the computer doesnt think the engine is hot enough it strives for efficiency, ergo, no fans.
If I am not mistaken it runs in the driver side into the main harness but I am not sure where it goes after that but I know it's a part of the main harness that goes into the computer

Thank you. That helps me out big time.
This help me out so much

i have a 2005 mazda 6 with the 6cyl is it still located in the same place? i havnt looked under my hood yet for it but i know mine is bad.
Thanks man very helpful!
Do you know where the oil pressure sending unit is located on this car?
I forgot to ask, is the car still drivable in this condition? I have to work tomorrow and the weekend so idk what to do.
Yea the thermostat is located on the driver side of the engine behind the radiator hose and fan sensor close to where that engine temp sensor is
this Temp Sensor, infor to ECU about temperature?? or only turns on/off the fan??
Thanks for the help bro.
Awesome video dude! Did you have the P0126 code for the thermostat?
hey there roger do you know what housing is holding the cts? My cts broke off so I need to somehow find a way to extract it.

Thanks for the video! 13/16 six point spark plug socket works too if you put a small shim on one flat ;-)
Thanks!!!!!!!!! you are awsume
Other than a check engine light, what problems stem from having a failed coolant temp sensor?
Over heating is numero uno. But it can also cause problems with you radiator as the fans dont kick on. This causes your coolant to burn and loose its ability to serve its purpose inside the engine creating more opportunities for clogs.
Hie what are the colour codes for that connecter
thanks bro.. i thought it would be on radiator, lol... i'm changing my sensor and thermostat, do you know where the thermostat is located?
The fan has a different sensor to control that...this was for the computer in the car to clear the code for engine coolant sensor there's a engine fan sensor also
Is that a 2.0l or 2.3l?
thanks!
Yea I know I wish there was an O'Reilly in N.Y. I can't wait till they open one till then this is what I am stuck with
How to unplug the wire please ?
Did this help with the fan running it did you have a different problem?
Not necissarily. The ect tells the computer it meeds to activate the fans. Your radiator fans are not constantly running. If the computer doesnt think the engine is hot enough it strives for efficiency, ergo, no fans.
Do you have to bleed the coolant system after the replacement?
From what I have read no you don't.
Good to know...
It is not the engnine temperature sensor. It is engine coolant temperature sensor... It is something else.
How r u going to start a video from the middle how do by get the screw off the cover there locked on
Yes I did
I recommend next time you buy from amazon, ebay or walmart the socket and part because autozone is overpriced
If I am not mistaken it runs in the driver side into the main harness but I am not sure where it goes after that but I know it's a part of the main harness that goes into the computer
nice job were you getting code po126..
u tuber yes but this fixed it
where did you order the part?
I got the parts from AutoZone
Trying to find mine on my rx-8 bro
yes it is just your gas mileage is going to suck
took it to autozone and they gave you wrong part lol damn autozone......o reillys!
