Couple things for anyone else trying to do this. Denso is the OEM for the sensor. Make sure juggler pin and indent on thermostat is at 12 o’clock when inserted. Torque sensor to 71-97 in lbs. torque thermostat to 12-16 ft lbs. if you aren’t surgical like this guy remove the battery, ECU and bracket those two are mounted on. Make sure the thermostat gasket and sensor washer are removed if your thermostat and sensor comes with a gasket/washer.
I just applied your tutorial. Thanks again! This was very helpful. I would have never found the probe. The probe that came off had an aluminum washer, that my new OEM part did not come with. I just transferred that to the new one. Hope it won’t leak…
Great video 👍 I have a MAZDA 2 Hatchback (DL, DJ) 1.5 SKYACTIV-G 90 HK that is exstreamly slow to heat up. Do by chance have a video about faulty electronic heat valve?
Nice mate my ect is on other side i reppaced water pump and thermostat ..i didnt habe ect to hand hejce why its not done yet . I habe it here ill do it asap . What symptoms did you have mate ? My engine is the sh01
Did this end up fixing your code? Or did it come back? (Troubleshooting a similar issue and not sure yet whether it's due to a heater core clog or a bad sensor...)
This is the ECT sensor 1. I have a video for the ECT sensor 2 check my Mazda playlist, I also have a full diag video also. The part numbers are identical, check my Mazda playlist

Thank you, sir. I’m having the exact same issue. You saved me a tremendous amount of time.

I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5 2.5L...what would be the best ECT sensor to purchase, other than purchasing from Mazda parts for this vehicle ?

Check my Mazda 6 P011A complete diagnosis video. This code went away for about 2 weeks then it returned
To remove the harness, you didn’t have to apply pressure, just pull with the screwdriver?
At 3:22 that white wire harness is designed the same exact way. By applying pressure at the top it releases the hook that holds onto the sensor
Gotcha, thank you!
I wish I could see where you applied pressure to the harness that’s clicked into the coolant sensor. I have a ‘14 Mazda 6 and I can’t get it unhooked
Is this basically the same location for the CX-5?
Yup
Is this ECT1 or ECT2? Are the parts any different?
This is the ECT sensor 1. I have a video for the ECT sensor 2 check my Mazda playlist, I also have a full diag video also. The part numbers are identical, check my Mazda playlist
Same locations for mazda 3?
@@johnnyb8173 I believe some Mazda 3’s have the 2.5L so yes. I’m not 100% sure about 2.0L engine though
