I love how Tom Platz videos have been going viral lately. He deserves it. The man put in some work in the gym, he looked phenomenal on stage and had one of the strongest mindsets in the sport ever. Absolute legend
@j4manasseh no but his girl cheated on him with his training partner. The next year he won the Olympia. On top of that he worked his ass to the bone every workout especially with something he didn't like
I herniated my back, and so now hip hinges will put me out of work for 4 days after. I'm stuck with machines and very light weight. Squat one extra for me, brothers.
I also did just dont worry bro it regenerate itself do not hear noone you will be better also inguinal hernia both sides also knee surgery also mini ijurys like menisc also like this just do not stop take care dont stop do light wheigt but too many
I did as well back in November 2021. I was able get back to training six months later, but had to start from scratch, lost all my strength. Now a year later I'm stronger then I was before I herniated it. There is hope bro
During the six months I couldn't train I did the mcgill big three from the squat university channel everyday multiple times. Before I did anything physical I'd prime my back with the mcgill big three basically. Also did the Mackenzie stretch sometimes not sure if it did anything tho
One of the greatest feelings in the world is having a hard intense workout then coming home and relaxing, watching a good show or playing a game or whatever you enjoy. It's like you're naturally high.
Yep, you’re right, but don’t forget the healthy and delicious protein rich food and drinks to go with that relaxation after a punishing workout. That’s a very important part of the ritual too 😊
Be careful at such a young age, I caused all kinds of injuries and muscle imbalances from doing heavy lifts too early. Now I have to rehab a lot of different parts of my body. I guess all you kids have UA-cam nowadays though so it’s easier to know what you’re doing without a personal trainer. Be safe bro and keep at it
I hate squats, but love the feeling after. The feeling that you can stand up against so much pushing down on you makes you feel like you can shoulder any burden
He's so right, it's doing the hard uncomfortable things and completing them that makes life better. Life feels and looks more beautiful after completing hard tasks. And nothing is harder than squats at the gym.
I fucking get him bro. No jokes. Leg day is horrendous and it's fucking horrible but honestly when you're going through some shit in your life and the gym is all you have? The squat rack is what you need. You get to take your anger out and tbh if you cant go to that dark phase, leg day will never be as much fun.
I want to puke before most leg days because I have butterflies in my stomach knowing I’m going to give it my all. I listen to the 15 minute platz motivation take on repeat the entire time, sometimes I close my eyes it’s like he’s training me. Often times I do throw up from the sheer intensity of my leg days. Tom platz has been a great inspiration for me.
Deja de decir ridiculeces, lo único que hacen es meter miedo para que los principiantes en este hermoso mundo del culturismo tengan miedo de hacer los mejores ejercicios. Hagan sentadillas puras y verán los resultados
I know my experience is way different but I’ve been doing air squats for time lately and these sets push me to my absolute limits. It is very exhilarating afterwards.🤙
I feel like not many gym bros are like this anymore I used to cry on the bench hating my self talking to the demons bleeding in the gym now I joined a commercial gym and it’s pathetic kids are video recording themselves with 6 packs at 150 pounds other kids recording Benching 265 I miss the 90s when I would bench 4 plates and not one recording could show it
I'm with Tom, nothing makes more anxious and nervous than squatting but that feeling of triumph afterward is unbelievable, it makes me realize that I can do anything.
It's the feeling of conquering all your demons and past traumas. All the times people said you couldn't do it, you'd never be good enough, all the times they laughed at you, all the times you looked in the mirror and hated what you saw. It all comes full circle after you conquer a hard set of squats and know for a complete fact that you squeezed out every last inch of what you knew, but also didn't know what you had in you.
Squat is life. As a young teen I squatted with plastic weights in NY bedroom with whatever I could press over my head. Ass to floor, high reps. My quads were more developed than most by the time I started going to a gym.

Leg day is a mission. I hate doing but when I leave and my legs are destroyed I feel so good haha 😂
He’s so freaking positive and motivational.
I agree bro the reason I still squat is because how happy and proud I am afterwards
Tom Platz with a stache is Kurt Russell's stunt double 😂
I literally feel the same when I squat. Like that anxiousness
"life is great" words of peak
Watching Tom and Ronnie makes me a great leg day😎
same here. I too just love the feeling afterwards
His quad muscles had muscles
I agree. After a hard set of 20 with 335 lbs , life just becomes bliss. Same with wrestling. Do something hard and the rest becomes easy
It amazes me that Tom Platz despite being the Quad father never broke his disk and is still in good shape unlike most of his peers e.g Ronnie Coleman
