Soo i have to work for an agency or can I work direct to the liberty mutual etc? There’s America income life for example I follow a huge agency for them and would rather join AIL directly you know or is that dumb and I have to join one. How do you even pick the right agency there is hundreds
Some carriers are “captive” companies where you can be an agent for them but you’re an exclusive agent specifically to their products. You cannot sell other company products. As a broker you can sell any “independent” company products which makes it way more flexible

Wrong info buddy. Agents work for insurer. Brokerage works for the insured.
A broker can also be a carrier. I worked for a broker that also sold certain insurance policies.

Wrong, insurance brokers have direct contracts with insurance carriers. They manage and balance both relationships (consumer and carrier)
