My solution to make the movie better throw Zhen (Aquafina's character) in the trash and make Tai Lung the character Po needs to work and train with to defeat the Chamelon. Have it be about the two growing to respect each other and by the end Tai Lung finally understands what Shifu and Po were trying to tell him years ago and he's finally able to accept he wasn't the Dragon Warrior and reconcile with Shifu and Tigress, perhaps even training under Po to finally achieve Inner Peace himself.
That allows for redemption of probably the most tragic villain of the franchise and Po's skills as a teacher are truly highlighted by him being able to do what neither Shifu and Ogawa could.

I think the worst part about this Movie, is that it’s canon. I don’t mean that in a jokey “It’s awful cuz it exists” kinda way, no. I mean, that the Aquifina character is going to stick around, and be a staple of the future releases their planning. Po is going it train her to be the next Dragon warrior, so this character we don’t like and don’t want around, will be staying with us, potentially until the end of Kung-Fu Panda. And I hate that so much.

the whole "No inner journey for Po" was something i called when this movie was announced. Po had nowhere to go, he had all his shit together and didnt really need to learn much of anything that was movie worthy. Im all for Po wanting to train Zhen, but it shouldve been his *choice.* He couldve been out, doing something, saw Zhen, and for whatever reason (for example, he saw her doing something bad but for a good reason or whatever better reason someone smarter than me could come up with) and then approach her, offer her the training, and go from there. No need for a new villain, we couldve just had a really down to earth movie where Po has to learn what it means to be in Shifus place, to watch your master disappear into the cherry blossoms and leave you with the responsibility of being a master and very little advice on how to do it. Po knows what he is, who he is, and what that means. What he could maybe learn, is how to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of warriors.
The only real teaching Po has done any of is to the pandas, and that was at the tail end of movie 3. Aside from that, he has no idea how to be a master, despite his self confidence and ability as a dragon warrior. Learning how to teach others, connect with them, and be willing to leave things in *their* hands wouldve been a great thing. Maybe Po, in his power as the dragon warrior, has begun to try to take on all the threats by himself. A new flaw only present BECAUSE of the events of the last 3 movies, where several times his friends have gotten hurt trying to help him with a villain that was specifically targeting him. Heck, in movie 3 the furious 5 nearly, if not technically did, die. Po could 100% have trauma from that.

Honestly, if they absolutely needed to have Awkwafina fox in the film, I feel like having her be a scrappy and unskilled character would fit, since Po could see his past self in her and have a personal connection. That way, it could be like an underdog to underdog mentor student relationship where they have some common ground.

Personally, I think it was bad idea for other Pandas to exist, the beauty of Po's character was that he was able to find inner peace despite the whole world being against him. Not having the furious five in a movie is not necessarily a bad idea but why can't the movie just be about Po.

    • @JacobPaul-ix7oc
      @JacobPaul-ix7oc 3 місяці тому

@@durzostern These activist writers, actors and directors are "useful idiots" whose purpose is to create division and help destabilize society. When they have finished their purpose, they will be disposed of.
Do you know how reverse psychology works? It's the assertation of one idea or belief with the expectation the subject of the persuasion will do the opposite. In this case, these activists are being used to assert Marxist ideologies with the expectation people will gravitate towards Conservative ideologies.
Step one of the "Four steps for ideological subversion". (Yuri Bezmenov, 1985)
Demoralization - this is a process which can take about 15-30 years to perform (a generation). *During this stage, the moral fibre and integrity of the country is put into question, thereby creating doubt in the minds of the people. To do so, manipulation of the media and academia is required to influence young people.* As the younger generation embraces new values, such as Marxism and Leninism, the older generation slowly loses control simply through attrition. *Again, true facts no longer matter during this stage, but rather creating perceptions are of paramount importance.*
---A good example would be from the movie. The chameleon says she isn't allowed to do Kung-Fu because she is too little, but there are other characters smaller than her who are Kung Fu masters. They had to remove those characters so the perception of her being ostracized/marginalized appeared to be true. If Mantis were in the movie standing next to her, the whole premise would fall apart.
      Communism and Religion
Abolished - all religious and metaphysics is rejected. Engels and Lenin agreed that religion was a drug or “spiritual booze” and must be combated. *To them, atheism put into practice meant a “forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions.”*
---Whether you want to accept it or not, the United States and Western civilization have been founded on Judeo Christian ideas, principles, morals, values and ethics. If the Bible says the man is the head of the house and should be leaders in society, the activists claim it is "sexist and bigoted". If the Bible says a marriage should be between a man and a woman and that homosexuality is immoral, the activists claim it is the people who stand up for morality who are actually immoral. The Bible forbids men from dressing as women, and women dressing as men, so they go a step further and say you can change your gender (and use mental gymnastics to try and say there is a difference between sex and gender to justify themselves).
Eliminating American exceptionalism, fundamental change of national identity, structural deconstruction of foundational principles, elimination of religion. Embedding a new societal design upon the psyche of generations through ideological academia, peer pressure by elites upon academics and society to convince that prior values were inherently flawed, racist, prejudiced etc. National identity is diluted with aspersions toward historical references. National History is re-written, re-defined, and molded to fit the new intended behavioral model and create the new values.
---Established IP are a part of our national, cultural, social and (for many) personal history. To see them try changing history to force in an ideological viewpoint that contradicts national/historical evidence and tradition is only going to create conflict.
"Bread and circuses" (or bread and games; from Latin: panem et circenses) is a metonymic phrase referring to *superficial appeasement.* It is attributed to Juvenal (Satires, Satire X), a Roman poet active in the late first and early second century AD, and is used commonly in cultural, particularly political, contexts.
In a political context, the phrase means to generate public approval, not by excellence in public service or public policy, but by diversion, distraction, or by satisfying the most immediate or base requirements of a populace,* by offering a palliative: for example food (bread) or *entertainment* (circuses).
Juvenal originally used it to decry the "selfishness" of common people and their neglect of wider concerns. The phrase implies a population's erosion or ignorance of civic duty as a priority.
---It is evident that only a selfish, small vocal minority of people are being given what they want, and even that is on a superficial, bare minimum level.
This phrase originates from Rome in Satire X of the Roman satirical poet Juvenal (c. 100 AD). In context, the Latin panem et circenses (bread and circuses) identifies the only remaining interest of a Roman *populace that no longer cares for its historical birthright of political involvement.* Here Juvenal displays his contempt for the *declining heroism* of contemporary Romans, using a range of different themes, including lust for power and desire for old age to illustrate his argument.
---All of our childhood heroes are being destroyed by Hollywood, and the new heroes are nothing worth getting excited about.
Juvenal here makes reference to the Roman practice of providing free wheat to Roman citizens as well as costly circus games and other *forms of entertainment as a means of gaining political power.* The Annona (grain dole) was begun under the instigation of the aristocratic popularis politician Gaius Sempronius Gracchus in 123 BC; *it remained an object of political contention until it was taken under the control of the autocratic Roman emperors.*
Step 3 of the "Four steps for ideological subversion".
Crisis-This is a major step lasting up to six weeks and involves *a revolutionary change of power.* This is where a cataclysmic event (false flag event, civil war, invasion) upsets and divides the country thereby creating panic among the citizens.
To Americans, symptoms would include circumventing the Constitution (re: Use "privately owned" social media sites to restrict free speech/First Amendment rights) and altering the checks and balances of government (see: Video and article I posted above), and possible martial law.
Creation of economic, financial and national security crisis. Also includes social crisis and a breakdown of previously self-evident restrictions on moral behavior.
The Cloward-Piven approach is used to create more takers than producers.
*The crisis produces benevolent leaders who will promise to deliver things to meet people's needs through “hope and change”* (ie: Hitler’s rise to power amidst a disenfranchised German population reeling from the effects of WW1) through social and economic justice. False illusion that the situation is under control if strategic directions are followed-Bailouts, regulations of industry and so forth.
When a small minority of people are given entitlements and benefits while the majority suffers, that leads to the majority of people seeking a leader who gives hope to the majority by promising to restore things back to the way they were and Make America Great Again.
Oddly enough, Donald John Trump, descendent of Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, is the man who people will turn to as a means to save us from Communism and give us hope once again.

I think like many once you create something great and accomplish great success, the temptation you have to overcome is not listening to the echo chamber that tells you everything you do is amazing because it blinds you from creating great work, it makes you lazy cause you think everybody will like it anyway, frees you from doubt and doubt is an important ingrediant for great work, so its a mixture of playing it safe, thinking they are hot shit and comfort and leaning on what they have done before, combine those together, you get reboots or sequals that are pretty "cool" on the surface but for a mature mind it lacks progression and substance.

1: When a writer takes their story out of their established world because they can’t remember their own rules.
(Multiverses: MOM, Time travel: Terminator, Alternate worlds: RWBY)
    2. A writer reuses villians or heroes who are dead as new villians. In either comics resurrection. Or shapeshifting.

I have seen a few comments and my idea would be to join a couple ideas for a long and interesting movie. People mentioned Tai Lungs redemption arc and people also mentions Po becoming a teacher naturally and teaching Zhen how to be a better person, her inner self yada yada yada. These ideas could be put together where two things are developing at same time where Po chooses to try and teach Zhen but will not be good at in, main bad guy shows up, Tai Lung is brought back and Po and Tai Lung will have to join forces, Tai lung will see Po through out the journey and breaks between fights and events as a sloppy teacher, and with his sturn attitude, Tai Lung would teach Zhen how to fight which would show po how to teach others how to fight, but then Po would help Zhen find her inner self and Tai Lung as a spectator would learn and reflect on himself after seeing and listening to those interactions. This would then fall into an ending where Po becomes the next master Oogway, Tai Lung would be the strict teacher like Shifu and Zhen would become the next dragon warrior, plus it would be a neat scene where master Shifu would get to see that Tai Lung one of his most precious students would finally find inner peace and be in the right place, master Shifu would leave the Jade palace as everything would be left in perfect hands. My idea inspired by some of the ideas of others.

My expectations were unfortunately low from what was shown in the trailers, but I was at least hoping that the chameleon could be the highlight of a mediocre movie (admittedly I developed a bit of a crush on her when the first trailer dropped). Like she genuinely has potential, the shapeshifting idea was so cool, but she was underutilized because she barely shows up, she barely gets fleshed out, and you can't scare the kiddies by having her commit war crimes like Shen did so down the stairs you go. Even in my lovestruck daze I could tell she paled in comparison to the other villains we were given. Imagine if the time given to Po's dads was given to her instead, and they gave her more of a personality, and they gave her a motivation that doesn't suck. Like maybe she tells people she was rejected because she was too small but actually she was rejected by every martial artist because she's just an all around insufferable woman and nobody wanted to deal with her, so she rose through her own means, i.e. becoming a literal crime boss. Idk I'm just tossing out ideas off the top of my head but I really wish more was done with her, she showed so much promise.

I really enjoyed the film and think it's far better than the third. I think it has some of the best action scenes with the fight choreography being on point, the fight in the smoke and the one in the thunder strorm being highlights for me, and i think it has some of the best looking amimation in the series. To me it felt more like a follow up the first film specifically rather than a sequel to 3. The film is about change and acceptance. It's about how as we get older things will inevitably change regardless of whether we went them to or not and that is something we have to accept which I think is an important message for children considering they're the films primary demographic, like I love the scene after Po's initial failure where he says he wishes that things had just stayed the same and his father says this to him in response "Everyone is afraid of change... change doesn't always have to be a bad thing... if things stay the same forever sooner or later they'll lose their flavor", that's the whole point of the chameleon, she's a character who is constantly changing on the outside and her major flaw is that refuses to change how she is on the inside as a person and is defeated when Po fully accepts change and allows Zhen to join the fight and be his successor, and since this is the first film in a new trilogy this narrative makes sense and on top of that this film re-enforces the message of the first film, that you can make something out of nothing if you just believe that something can come out of out said nothingness. That's why they brought back the peach pit metaphor from the first film. That's also why Zhen is similar to Po in the first film, she came from nothing, and didn't see or understand the importance of being a good person until meeting Po who believes in her and that she can be better that what she previously thought she was capable of. People just saw Po as a fat smelly loser who couldn't be anything else, every one also saw Zhen as nothing but a lowlife thief and backstabbing servant to the chameleon, both Po and Zhen proved everyone wrong once people believed in them and more importantly when they believed in themselves.
I think people went into this film with skewed expectations, they wanted the Furious Five back in full swing and for Tai Lung to go on this big redemption arc and become the next dragon warrior, or something ridiculous like that, and they refuse to just see the movie for what it is and accept it that way so they were disappointed. But in the words of Master Oogway "you may wish for an apple or an orange but you will get a peach."
But whatever if you don't like the film and got nothing out of it like I did, fair, to each his own.

    • @jendoe9436

I also agree that this film isn’t bad outright, just different and preparing to tell a different story about Po. It makes sense that after the lessons he learned from the first 3 movies that he should take on a more full time teaching/leading role, and find a student as well. Part of being a teacher is having someone to teach after all.
The Furious 5 already have their own styles and skills developed from their time with Oogway and Shifu, so they are out. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to bring Tai Lung back because he didn’t have the inner workings to be the Dragon Warrior and honestly, leaving the Spirit Realm to study under Po would be both a downgrade and probably humiliating thing for him.
It made sense that Po would need to take on an apprentice outside of the Valley since he’s too close to everyone and Zhen being from the outside allows them to explore different perspectives.
Yeah the movie could have been polished up in some spots, but I thing it worked as a solid foundation for the next stage in Po’s life.

The other reviews that I looked at wondered if this movie should've been made in the first place given that Po was still young when he was given the ultimatum by Master Shifu and also noticed the lack of being threatening by The Chameleon and lackluster reason for doing what she did. Still, it's surprisingly doing gangbusters at the theater where I'm working so we might be at the edge of this before people starting to notice that DEI is starting to infect Dreamworks. We'll see.

A better Kung Fu Panda 4 would have been what the show (Kung Fu Panda Legend of Awesomeness, try to say that 5 times fast) did with Peng. Him looking up to his uncle Tai Lung. Having him trust Po only to then have him find out he killed the person he looked up to because he didnt know about what his uncle became only what he was. Then having Po going through what Shi Fu by seeing Tai's darkness only to have him make the good decision, unlike Shi Fu and a certain Jedi not acting like his former self, did when he saw darkness in someone else. But this is why we cant have nice things when just dumping exposition so you can dump a plot that can be dumped onto a streaming service. Like Megamind 2 and the "show" that was also released and I refuse to see because looks like a big dump load.

The second I heard a fourth one was coming, I was incredibly skeptical that they would tarnish what was a perfect trilogy. Looks like my fears were valid.

As someone said in another video, Puss in Boots The Last Wish wasn't a sign of change. It was an anomaly.

At this point, does anyone need Aquafina in a movie? She's like her namesake: Bland and Flavorless, though she doesn't bring life to anything.

I feel like this movie could have been a lot more interesting if they had followed the change theme more literally. Maybe have chameleon as the the owner of an outdated business, while society is moving towards a more futuristic business model. Have her frustrated by this and use new tech to show the world that we should live in the past and not evolve due to the fears of new change (a tech is bad sort of approach). Meanwhile, Poe is struggling to deal with the change of going on less awesome (I know the writers love that word so that should meet the quota for them) adventures and instead is taking up more of a Oogway role where he doesn't really fight and what not, having Poe struggling to come to terms with this change. Obviously, in the end showing that change is a good thing and allows Poe to better more lives by becoming a teacher instead of a warrior. Thoughts anyone?

The only good thing about the kung fu panda movie was tai lung and he should've been the new dragon warrior if they insist to give to someone

At least the movie’s promo of Tenacious D covering Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time was entertaining. I could use an entire album of 90s pop covers.

I hope The Wild Robot is good. The trailer for that looks great and it’s from the director of Lilo and Stitch and HTTYD. Dreamworks really needs to get back on track

Man. Every movie these days just has no decent writing. These movies are meant to tell a story, but not to TELL the story to us!
Honestly, this makes me wanna write my own Kung Fu Panda movie. Maybe one that'll expand the world and bring Japan into the picture.
    Google Docs, let's go!

Dreamworks are apparently shutting down internal film development and focusing on working with external film studios. The Wild Robot is the last film they’ve got from their animation department.

Another missed opportunity. The villain says she couldn’t learn Kung Fu because she is too small despite Viper and Mantis being smaller would be a perfect time for the movie to acknowledge that some people are power hungry and evil and have justifications for that bad behavior that are MADE UP! It’s not even that far fetched! I do it daily because I have a bad coffee habit, I drink way too much coffee, but I have my excuses that I will tell you through my yellow teeth.
As for Dreamworks I dunno… seems they were not spared the bad writing kick that is ravaging HWood I thought The Last Wish was a triumph but then we got all the rest and they’re fine I guess. Trolls is Trolls not particularly deep or anything but it’s fine. HTTYD seems to be failing with 9 Relms for TV being garbage tier so I dunno.

Might they have made his sequel so they can make a dreamworks movie verse where shrek, kungfu panda and others combine? If so i think that the fights would develop where death would be beating everyones butt with oogway ultimately stopping him, since weve never seen oogway at his full...just my opinion

Not sure why they felt they needed to make a 4th film.
I thought it was okay, but nothing special and definitely not a necessary movie. The second film will always be my favorite.
