The chameleon says that no one would let her train in their kung fu because she’s small. I guess Mantis never existed lol.
Shifu didn't reject chameleon dummy lol
Master Chicken, Mantis, Viper (technically), Shifu all are smaller than her 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And it made me mad that po didn’t say that??!! That whole time she was monolouging I thought he was gonna be like “ what are you talking about? Have you never heard of the furious 5”
Racism bro
Such a ridiculous motivation
Another problem with the Chameleon is that she has no connection to the main characters at all. The first three villains were all tied to someone- Tai Lung to Shifu, Shen to Poe, and Kai to Oogway. The relationship between all these people made for really interesting backstory and also served as good emotional arcs for the heroes to overcome. Shifu gets over his guilt for failing Tai Lung, Poe overcomes his traumatic past Shen caused, and Oogway is at peace knowing his old friend will be stopped by the Dragon Warrior. The Chameleon would've benefitted a lot if she was tied to Poe in some way, or heck- take advantage of the fact she's a chameleon. What if SHE was the companion for Poe in this film, and was masquerading as Mr. Ping, or his dad, or one of the Furious Five (if they were in this movie), toying with his emotions. The betrayal in the middle half of the film would have a lot more impact, and Poe would now be stuck in a nightmare- not knowing who to trust. That would be a TERRIFIC way of utilizing the Chameleon's power, instead of using it for lazy fan-service.
I wish you wrote the movie
chameleon has a connection with zhen i guess…? but zhen randomly appeared so your point still stands
The Chameleon is basically Shang Tsung, but is terriblely written
Does she need to have a connection to the main characters though?
@@Ebh55.Not exactly. But she just feels so... detached? Its not as impactful as the previous villains. Had it played out as op said, maybe it couldve been better...
I agree with your statement about the film forgetting about certain things from the first three movies in the franchise. When Po's Dad said, "Bravery is not my specialty," I was confused because, during Po's flashback in Kung Fu Panda 2, the father stayed behind and fought wolves with a giant sledgehammer.
He also fought jade shifu in3
It wasn't even a sledgehammer. He fought them with a broom/mop.
@shuckeegaming And Im sure he freaking won.
Not even PO dad ability to fight.
He casually travel so far while normal panda probably can't even walk for 100m, lol.
Also don't forget he choose difficult path like wooden bridge, cliff and other.
Li was beast, it just creator who make him kinda lazy to blend with other panda in KFP3. KFP 4 forget all of that.
They could at least meantioned that but, sadly no.
The worst part is that KFP 4 and Megamind 2 could have genuinely been masterpieces if Dreamworks had gone about it properly.
The greed of money corrupts
And my balls are also smooth
anything can be a masterpiece if you go about it properly
granted, Megamind did not do financially well, and under NBCUniversal with Peacock, its television pilot/series was doomed from the start.
I can't believe some of dense audience keep forgetting that Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate is not a feature length sequel to the original.
KFP? Maybe... It closed off well with the third movie.
Megamind? Nope. It was a one-off movie that had nothing more to tell. No questions to answer or anything.
My biggest complain about Kung Fu Panda 4
- Where are the furious 5??
- Why did Po has to quickly find his successor anyway? Oogway is a walking bone before he choose poo
- and Po has to pick his successor with several random people?
- the main villain is defeated in only two hits?
- After freed, all the villains just suddenly respect Po, why?
- What happen to the underground people? there's no closure for that
- Why did they make the Dragon Warrior like a nobody know? in the last 3 movies they centered around the dragon warrior like everybody knew him.
- There's not much growth for Po in this movie compared to the other.
Furious five has their own big mission , have you ever watch it?
In kung fu panda 2 , lord shen does not recognize po as dragon warrior , only recognize him as warrior of black and white destiny to defeat him
Tai lung and kai familiar with dragon warrior because their connection with master oogway
Plus tai lung and kai also died in 1 shot , po defeat tai lung with one hit wuxi finger hold , and po defeat kai with one hit massive of chi
While lord shen is killed himself
And all villian bow and respect po , the same way furious five and the villagers bow and respect po in kung fu panda 1
I really didn’t even understand how Po went from point A to B bc the pacing and dialogue were really bad. It felt like “character moments” shoehorned in to force the plot to make sense but it most undermines the overall integrity.
It itches your brain constantly throughout watching the film that there's no furious 5 but that random throwaway fox that we know nothing about
I know dam well if you were wiped out of existence for years and then came back and saw the same person that beaten you, I know dam well. No one is forgiving you
@@omarhaziq7439 he was referring to the inclusion of the furious five as the director said they were going to be in the movie.
Both tai lung and Kai weren’t one shot-ed they were overpowered , Po would then do a finishing move that would ofc be one shot.
And tai lung isn’t the type of person to forgive and forget like shown in the first movie he is type of person to get revenge and prove he is superior so it was strange that the villains just respected Po.
Shen despised and never agreed with Po up to the end.
Not sure about Kai cause they never flushed him out and he always made fun of Po and never saw him as a threat just a buffoon a joke and at the end of the movie he was dead set on having revenge too by the way he said he would take Po’s chi even if it took him another 500 years
so these villains are out of character and made jokes in the new mediocre movie and the director lied about the Five just to cash in some money from the fans of the trilogy🙄🥱😪 the movie never added to Po’s character and the new dragon warrior is a joke🦊🤡 and so is the terrible villain
her motivations were "nobody wanted me to train me in kung fu because im too small"
mantis?? hello???
Snake also exists
Also Master Shifu
Shifu, Mantis, Master Chicken, Viper, heck, you could even argue that Oogway disproves her motivation because someone had to ask that a turtle can be fast enough. They apparently forgot the furious five exist and never watched the previous movies, otherwise I can't explain how they messed up this badly with a villain's motivation.
In the opposite way, maybe it’s just a lie and it’s better to tell her that. I mean she is a chameleon and could shape-shifting to be anyone (by using magic with non-specific source. it could be the magic that only allow to use among the chameleons. idk the movie barely talk about it) the masters may had seen her potential and be afraid for what she will become. So they decided to reject her.
@@lyevv it should’ve been a lie she told Tai Lung to manipulate him into joining her side, only to drop the act once he outlives his usefulness.
Damn, crazy how Dreamworks came out swinging with Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, only to completely trip over and lose all the momentum it gained from that movie. Ruby Gillman, Megamind 2, and now this have been meh.
Truly one of the most infuriating studios in animation to deal with.
And now Wild Robot's looking great. Inconsistency!
That’s DreamWorks for you
@@justaghostintheseayeah, that’s kinda their thing.
The studio has always been like this putting out 1 or 2 masterpieces or just 1 or 2 good or great films and then following it up with a bunch of shitty movies until surprising people with good movies again
The thing that pissed me off about this movie is how poorly they used the villains. Like bro, they brought back Tai Lung, Lord Shen, and Kai. And instead of giving them an emotional and intense reunion with Po, and nicely weaving them into the plot, they instead just use them as Plot Devices and throw them into cages for the entire film. And what makes it worse is that neither Lord Shen or Kai speak a SINGLE WORD. They couldn’t even get voice actors that at least *sound* similar? Imagine Po and The Furious Five fighting Tai Lung, Shen, Kai, AND The Chameleon. That would’ve been a much better story, like some No Way Home type stuff.
I actually kind of agree. I remember getting so excited when I saw shen coming out of that portal to the spirit realm, only for him to get no lines whatsoever.
I still can't believe shen SHEN (basically hi#ler) ACCEPTED PO WTF
Aaand in a single four-line comment, a person on the Internet just wrote a better movie sequel than an entire decades-old studio of hundreds of people. I don't usually point out these kinds of things but damn lol.
Maybe they wanted to spare some cash who knows
@@stormdoesgaming8919 seriously though. If they actually used the villains in a meaningful way the story would’ve been so much better. This movie is a prime example of wasted potential.

And finally find his inner peace and retire?
The Furious Five being absent was a BIG red flag tbh. Po is at his best when he has other characters to play off of and the absence of most of the characters who know him best really showcases this.
The saddest part is that Po getting his own apprentice that he truly takes under his wing, which is what I THOUGHT Zhen was going to be, sounded really cool and it made sense for the Five to maybe be looking for their own apprentices, sort of setting up the next generation and continuing Oogway's legacy.
But the 2 barely get the time to know each other and by the end they act like they're best friends.
Its just really rushed.
THAT would have been better honestly.
I'd rather not have Furious Five in the movie than have them downgraded like in KFP3.
I believe the arc with Furious Five is finished and they want to set up something new with this trilogy. Still, it doesn't looks that good.
I think it is rushed, the movie length seems shorter than the past movies
@MotorOil235 That would have been worse and retcon-y IMHO. The first movie made it clear none of the Five were destined to become the Dragon Warrior. Also, they needed someone more green in terms of understanding the philosophical lessons that Po will know be delivering himself, why would Tigress need to be mentored like that?
I’ll take a mediocre Dreamworks film than whatever the hell Megamind 2 was supposed to be.
This is slightly better. That's it
Also taking mediocre is cringe
Why accept mediocrity when we know Dreamworks has the capability to make peak content?
They don’t get a pass from me or from anyone who cares. Not in this day in age where we can get Puss In Boots The last wish.
@@Wavedashnoirso you'd rather eat up the doom syndicate or what
The issue is after puss in boots, we thought dreamworks was in a resurgence, guess not. It’s like sonic. A great game and then shit after.

I felt like Po needing to find a successor was very contrived; there was no fight that made Po realize he needed to move to another role, just Shifu saying out of nowhere that Po needs to find a successor. IMO Shifu should move into the role of Oogway before Po does - make Po moving into Oogway’s role a conclusion to the series.
I also don’t get why there needs to be a successor to the Dragon Warrior - there hadn’t been one before Po, so there’s no precedent of there being future Dragon Warriors.
That's what I've been saying since the trailer, why is there such an urgency to have another dragon warrior when that was never a worry before Po? Such a lazy plot driven by absolutely nothing, the worst kind of sequel is the one that forgets all the past movies
She was never even given the dragon scroll🤦🏻♀️ how is she the official dragon warrior if she hasn’t read the scroll???😭
@@waterwitch1690Right? And would it even hold the same significance it did for both Po and Tai Lung? I hate this movie so much, how did they forget all the foundations of the first movie
Yeah I think in the first film, they mentioned dragon warrior is chosen one in a thousand years.
Not to mention Oogway was basically 3 inches away from death by the time he chose Po anyway, so why does Po, the greatest warrior in history, suddenly have to start looking for an apprentice already when he literally just reached his prime in the last movie?
One thing we can give Kung Fu Panda 4 credit for is making everybody realize how good of a conclusion to the franchise Kung Fu Panda 3 truly was
it is literally that Thanos meme; "perhaps i treated you too unfairly"
Not me. 😁
i think 4 is better than 3 actually, but theyre both mid asf
@@luigiwiiUU Nah 3 is good. Second weakest one? Yes but it's still good. Can't same the same for this one sadly.
@@luigiwiiUU no it's not even close. at least in 3 we had kai be a good villain with a good backstory and badass powers, 4's villain is a joke.
I don’t even know why the Chameleon brought back Shen and Kai. Shen was not a Kung Fu master and basically had nothing that she would want. She didn’t seem to want to build cannons. I also don’t believe that she would know who Kai was. His whole deal in the third movie was that he was forgotten. Even Shifu didn’t know him. It also seemed like his spirit got blown up in the last movie, so I’m pretty sure he should be completely gone. I think that the movie would’ve been better if they just didn’t appear. Tai Lung can stay, but not the other two.
Yeah, especially since she immediately copies Po anyway. Like, why would she even need the transformations of all the people that Po had beaten If she just immediately copies Po, the guy that beat them?
Seems a bit redundant on her part.
Have you never seen the second movie. Shen was pretty good in kung fu being able to use his tail in fights to shield. Exactly what we se her do in the final fight. And Kai would have caused a lot of fear in people from his arrival back on earth. His chi also should’ve still been floating around in the spirit realm which could let her reform him upon his summoning.
@@trishaleealphin cmon, stealing kung-fu from the guy that almost ended it? It just makes no sense
Kai went on a spree in the third movie stealing the chi of literally every master in China, so it's likely that news got to her before or while she was gaining power, and took an interest in obtaining power from Kai too.
Wait you're right, Kai's supposed to be completely dead since Po literally made him explode by chi overcharge. I honestly don't think people that got killed in the spirit realm could return into existence.
DreamWorks is a perpetual motion of "We're so back" and "It's so over"
SHEN SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SUMMONED. That was the moment the film lost me completely, the chameleon was summoning kung fu MASTERS, sure shen knows kung fu and is certainly good at it but, he is not a master, that is why he uses weapons, cannons and miss leads to overwhelm his opponents.
On top of that, I hate how they tackled the spirit realm, I always understood it as a place where you can access either by achieving peace of mind and spirit (like oogway) or by being sent there (like tai-lung or Kai), it simply being “the afterlife” with no explanation feels cheap specially considering how shen should boil down in the darkest pit of hell.
Also, I don’t think it makes sense for Kai to have been summoned either. Didn’t he explode at the end of the third movie after absorbing too much chi?
Also, I just realised, why did Master Croc and Master Bear decide to go to the spirit realm in the end? They literally weren’t even dead.
not every religion has a hell equivalent
@@hamishstewart5324 He did explode which should have made him apply for the trope: Deader than dead.
On account of his soul was destroyed.
@@AziSlaysregardless, shens appearance was still badly handled, given he was one of the most evil villains in the franchise
The biggest issue with this films is the villains. Tai Lung is ON THE POSTER and he has roughly 2 and a half minutes of screen time in the film. Kai and Shen not having lines is already frustrating on its on, considering Shen is quite possibly Dreamwork’s greatest villain. The idea of Tai Lung forgiving Po isn’t a bad idea on paper, had he been a proper character I would have been completely on board with his redemption, but I draw the line at the other two. Shen MAYBE would have forgiven him, since it was clear he was conflicted on his actions, knowing they were bad but it was far too late to turn back, so maybe after he died he could fully accept what he did, but Kai? Kai should have ripped Po to shreds for sending him back to the spirit realm. Another thing I just don’t understand is why exactly do the villains WANT to go back to the spirit realm? What’s stopping them from taking a second chance at life? Hell Shen coming back in the first place doesn’t really make a lot of sense, he’s not a kung fu master like Tai Lung or a spirit warrior like Kai, he’s an intelligent general who just so happens to be decent at Kung Fu.
What also doesn't make sense is Kai actually existing, because Po wiped him off in the spirit realm.
I am so frustrated at Shen not saying a single word. They also needed Tai Lung SO MUCH so that The Chameleon can stand out.
@@pyrohatExactly my thoughts!
FUCK, TAI LUNG ONLY APPEARS FOR 2 FUCKING MINUTES?! HE'S LITERALLY IN THE COVER ART OF THE MOVIE. WTH, I WAS EXPECTING A REDEMPTION ARC OR SOME SHIT.
I thought kai would use his anti chi again. Yes completely rubbish as you say
Tai Lung really should’ve been working with the Chameleon from the start, being led on by the promise of becoming the Dragon Warrior, only to get backstabbed and team up with Po, realising that he’s not worthy of the title. Also, it was criminal that he never reunited with Shifu in any way.
What I disliked about Kung Fu Panda 4:
1. Shifu's reason to have Po find his successor didn’t make any sense. Just because he was gifted the staff of wisdom doesn’t mean he needs to be promoted. Look at Oogway, that tortoise was a century old before he flew off to the spirit realm.
2. The mention of Tai Lung's return should've brought panic and disbelief in Po. But he just looked like their village was under robbery.
3. The absence of Furious Five. They could've added so much help and performance in Po and Zhen's journey. I mean, they are such major characters of the plot and-
4. Shifu needed to have more scenes, especially with Tai Lung. We needed an emotional reunion or something.
5. The chameleon saying she was considered too small to be taught Kung Fu? As if Mantis doesn’t exist. She didn’t have any proper backstory like the previous villains and was defeated too easily. I mean if she has the kung fu of all the great villains, then how come a single unknown move from the fox throws her off? A total disappointment.
6. Shen and Kai were silent throughout the whole movie. And not to mention, they were caged. Shen and Kai were excellent villains just as Tai Lung so dialogues and actions would've been appreciated A LOT.
7. Po and the villains literally didn’t have any animosity. Wtf? Suddenly they all bowed to him and accepted he was the true dragon warrior and just went to the spirit realm...a big NO. Why are they supposed to be so friendly?
8. Zhen was so confusing. I think it would've been better if she remained a villain. Also there was NO need to make her the next dragon warrior. She literally doesn’t have anything that gives off the vibes of a future hero. I personally think Tai Lung should've been the next dragon warrior.
What I liked about Kung Fu Panda 4:
1. The dads were awesome. Only for comic relief purposes though.
2. One more time cover by Jack Black.
3. The last minute entry of the Furious Five. I screamed and jumped when I saw them.
4. The chameleon shape-shifting into a mixture of all the villains was brilliant.
Overall, a mid-average movie. Definitely unnecessary. However if the team could work hard on the plot and characters, it would've scored higher than 3. Still I had a good time watching it despite the flaws.

Why the hell didn't they make Tigress the new dragon warrior? She was literally trained, and built for this her whole life, and she as at one point arrogant towards Po, but Po then becoming her teacher and leading her down the path of his successor would've been perfect.
A movie where Po's old villains reconcile with him, atleast Tai lung, in a meaningful way would've worked.

KFP1 - Tai Lung was Master Shifu's ex-student. Because Oogway refused to give him Dragon Warrior title and scroll. Becomes a bad guy.

Toy Story 4 was good. I enjoyed it. IDK why people hate it lol. It was unneeded but it didn't feel unnecessary after watching it. It was fine.
I wouldn’t say that although even though both KFP3 and TY3 felt very conclusive, Po having to pick the next Dragon Warrior so he could be the teacher makes sense considering the 3rd film there is something that you can do there that feels like a natural progression of 3 the problem was the execution leaving some things to be desired. Toy Story on the other hand had absolutely no business continuing after 3 and while 4 is not the worst thing ever what they were going for asked for quite a lot of things to be retconned for it to happen.

I’m sorry, but yall JUST noticed this? I’ve been telling people it’s going to be trash the second the trailer came out. I haven’t watched it, and I do admit seeing Tai-Lung come back is exciting, but from what I saw in the trailer, my first thought was where the hell are the furious five? They were a major mart of Po’s character growth. In my past, KFP (all three movies) were the absolute BOMB, and still are. This fourth one ruined it. It should’ve ended at three and done. Plus the lighting and animation in this one kinda seemed downgraded from the last.
If I am mistaken about any of this, please correct me. Again, I haven’t watched the movie, nor am I a critic, but I am a digital media and storyline enthusiast, as well as a person who holds the KFP series close to my heart (except this movie).
I think people wanted to give it a chance since it’s Kung Fu Panda, but yeah the trailer tells you everything you need to know about what the movie actually is

Spoiler:
The only scene that I found myself awake for was near the end when Tai Lung accepts Po as the dragon warrior. Yeah it was brief but Tai Lung of all people finding peace in not being the Dragon Warrior was amazing.
Sucks that he only had like 30 seconds of screen time throughout the entire movie.
At least he had 30 seconds of screen time. I went to see this movie because I thought Lord Shen would be in it again. And he was.
2.6 seconds in the background.
I only watch the movie for him lmao
Don't talk to me about screen time. Not when I was waiting for the Furious 5 the entire movie
Like tai lung is just that good. And i swear that the movie could have been great if they just had him actually do something maybe even fighting alongside Po and learning to respect him.
Also, this was one of the more craziest theories ever but people were saying that tai lung could have had his body restored and become the new dragon warrior that he deserved to be.
Something I wish happened was that instead of the fox (or whatever the hell her name was) didn’t become dragon warrior, but Po would be forced to work with Tai Lung to fight against the Chameleon, which would help develop Tai Lung to become a bit less evil and more friendly from the kindness Po shows him. Some more stuff happens in the movie, the big fight with the Chameleon, they fail at first, go through the part where the team breaks up, reunites, fight the Chameleon fight again and win, and Po makes Tai Lung the Dragon Warrior, as Tai Lung finally got what he was denied for so long after wasting his life from training for the title of Dragon Warrior.
That ending scene where all the freed and re-energized villains and masters confronted Po was extra stupid. The think the antagonists from the previous films would be eager to settle the score with Po after the defeats they were dealt. But no, they suddenly respect Po out of nowhere. And why?! Because he bopped a lizard on the head?! And not only that, but they all happily choose to "die" a second time when there was nothing stopping them from staying in the mortal world.
KFP4 made me realize that I don't need another 3 kfp movies with new underdeveloped characters and with old ones either being a cameo or having their characters development from previous movies not honored at all. I just need 1 good Tai Lung movie that handles 'the redemption' arc well
HAIL Tai lung

I saw one of the UA-cam videos that showcased discussion from some of the directors and actors. - DreamWorks creative team, probably
I like when people say that dreamworks was in a golden era when the bad guys and puss in boots: the last wish came out, only for dreamworks to have the longest streak of mediocre/bad movies of ruby gillman, trolls 3, Orion and the dark, megashit vs the boredom syndicate, and this. Some say mid 2010s was the dark era despite having films like Peabody and Sherman, httyd 2, penguins of Madagascar, king fu panda 3, and Captain Underpants. People should know that dreamworks is inconsistent, they released shark tale after Shrek 2.
People have three second memories. When a company puts something good out, its all "This is the greatesetes thing in the whole universe and it will DESTROY disney", and when they put something bad out its all "This is trash and the company is trash and the studio is DEAD"
They base everything off the most recent thing and forget that this is a massive corporation with real people and not every film is written by the same people.
When Dreamworks is great, its really great. When its bad, its pretty bad. But that's almost anything. I respect them for putting out unique and fun films and enjoy what works

I think the chameleon had a lot of missed potential. it was rly disappointing to me how they showed off the realistic fear of po thinking tai lung had returned only for him to immediately figure out it was just a shapeshifter. coupled w/ the fact that initially, the chameleon didn't have any kung fu skills, she could only mimic appearances; imagine the 4D chess mind games she could've played w/ po, making him think all his greatest enemies had returned and he'd have to take on all of them when it was just her. lord shen was already someone who had to focus on brains over brawn, they could've taken that to a new level w/ the chameleon.
another thing that makes her disappointing is that she only has ties to zhen. all the previous villains had some strong tie to a known character--tai lung to shifu, lord shen to po, and kai to oogway. but chameleon is only tied to zhen. ig I can see how they tried to make her like a toxic controlling parent but idk I just couldn't get into it, maybe bc the backstory was so simplistic.
I also don't get why chameleon was turned away from kung fu schools for being too small and weak or w'ever when 2 of the furious five are a mantis and a snake who are smaller than her. I think there should've been a better reason, like the previous villains had
That last part is so true.
Anyone remember the first movie where Shifu constantly put Po down for being fat?
If anything there is a trend for for kung fu fighters being small.
Literally the only ones I can think of that are "big" are master rhino and Oogway. With Oigway being a freaking turtle.
Maybe Tigress and Tai Lung could count? But that would still only be one out of the 5 furious five members.
Yeah compared to the other 3:
Tai Lung - was taken under and trained by Shifu before Po was even born, was believed he was the dragon warrior until Oogway rejected him, which led to him going down a dark path. What made him compelling is that he trained harder than most people for a goal he was denied of (hence the quote “Who told me to train everyday until my bones crack!?” and also his sheer ruthlessness and anger.
Shen - believed a prophecy of him eventually being overthrown by a warrior in black and white and because of that started a genocide on Pandas (and killed Po’s mother), also believed he was betrayed by his parents after they exiled him for his horrible deeds, and then tried to conquer China after he created a weapon that’s essentially bringing a gun to a sword fight. What made him a compelling villain is that he’s very self aware of how bad his actions are, but knew that if he turned back now all those deaths would of been for nothing. But what also makes him especially a threat to Po is that he’s not only a physical threat, but also a psychological threat as he slain his species and at the time which led to the belief that Po was the last of his kind. Not only that, but it’s also very clear that he has nothing to lose as towards the end, he accepted his fate of being crushed and blown up by his own instrument he created.
Kai - I haven’t seen KP3 in a while but iirc, he was around during Oogway’s time and have fought him many times, but then eventually he bested him and stole his Chi. What makes him a compelling and threatening villain is that unlike the previous 2, he wasn’t a mortal. And on top of that, he basically collects souls to make himself powerful. Him alongside Shen were probably the closest in killing Po.
And then we have Chameleon who well…can shapeshift…and her motives…wanting to conquer China for being turned away from Kung Fu classes due to being small (Viper and Mantis meanwhile). Her being compelling…being a toxic parent I guess…
@@GojiBoiEarth1964
Now that Im reading this side by side, the chameleon is literally just a worse Shen.
Shen:
Heard a prophecy that he was going to be defeated by a kung fu warrior, leading him to basically invents guns and aim to end the era of Kung fu.
Chameleon:
Wanted to learn kung fu once.
Was rejected for bs reason.
Wants to rule China now, for some reason.
Still wants to use kung fu to do it though.
Gains her copying powers, somehow.
Copies Kung Fu masters instead of learning it herself.
Loses in a bs way that has nothing to do with her skill in Kung Fu.
Shen had a reason to have a grudge against Kung Fu and his goal is to prove everyone wrong by surpassing it.
Meanwhile the Chameleon has a grudge against Kung Fu, but her way of getting revenge is literally just proving the others right since she has to rely on copying her opponents bodies to win, instead of using her own.
Huh? This all just seems so thematically confused.
Not to mention Viper was born fangless, and she relied on her agility and speed to fight. Mantis is a literal bug, so there's no way Chameleon was rejected for being small.
@@butt3rcatYeah and even thinking "well maybe it wasn't just her size, but that she was too weak", shifu started training tai lung and tigress when they were just lil cubs who couldn't fight at all, I don't get why the chameleon would've been rejected unless she was going to some super exclusive dojos. I get they prolly wouldn't want another villain tied to shifu's backstory, but maybe make her have approached shifu in the past w/ him rejecting her for some actual good reason
edit: also they'd have to shuffle some stuff around but I just had this idea; why not make the villain one of the dragon warrior candidates who got snubbed by po? could be the chameleon or someone else. I get ppl would call this a retread of tai lung "another villain who wanted to be the dragon warrior but was denied it and turned evil? c'mon now" but they could've added some extra wrinkle to the character, some stuff to set them apart. make them more morally grey perhaps. also this way the villain would be formed in the present of the movie (unlike the previous villains who were always from the past) and directly created by po's inability to accept change.
I have a good feeling they didn’t let shen and Kai talk is because they didn’t want to hand out the money, which probably influenced the story.
They were added last minute, together with the furious 5.

I didn’t like the ending of the chameleon scene. All of Po’s greatest enemies, battle ready, just float away. No fight, no resentment, just gone. Especially for Kai, he spent 500 years waiting for a rematch with Oogway, and was brought back to the mortal realm, where he was trying to get, had his kung fu, had an opportunity, and just left. And if any of them had lost, they would have been sent back to the spirit realm anyway. And the third movie made it seem like Kai was dead with extra dead sauce, but he got brought back the same as everyone who was just in the spirit realm.

@@Angela-ur5yf Have not, going to theaters is a little rare for me at the moment.
it's such a blatant cash grab with no heart or soul behind it. It feels so incredibly empty and watching it only reminds you of how good the movies used to be.
here's some behind the scenes info from the co-director, Stephanie, from Reddit (potential spoilers):
1. Early on, KFP4 was considered to be live action-animation hybrid, and featured humans. I posted concept art of the human Chameleon (then, The Collector, even though we already have Kai the Collector) vs Po. Seems like Zhen would've been human too. They'd have come from Hu-man City, apparently... To add insult to injury, one of these versions had Po, the protagonist, stuck in a BOX for 20 MINUTES.
2. Mike Mitchell, the director, had total creative freedom. Hence, him + the studio leadership wanting laughs and a more joke-y vibe led to the overall tone, like the F5's comical side missions. Jack Black called him the "comedy guy", while Stephanie brought "things deeper" and "more heart"
3. Additionally, it was Mitchell who insisted against fleshing out the Chameleon's backstory. Apparently, Chameleon and Zhen had ZERO backstory in early versions. By the time the crew pushed him enough to change his mind, they were too far along in animating to add anything but the Chameleon's few lines.
4. The runtime was a studio mandate since they believed children can't watch a longer film + maximize profits.
5. TV shows are non-canon, as they are under separate film and television divisions that are "rivals".
6. Lord Shen, General Kai, and the Furious Five were VERY last minute additions to the point that their animation rigs were "made of sticks and glue". Hence, no plot relevance (e.g. not redeemed properly) and inability to bring back their actors, as much as some of the crew advocated for their return. Furthermore, there's a thing where actors are brought in for voice roles with X amount of money, and exponential increases for sequels. Apparently, a single line from Jolie would've cost $20 million, so you can imagine why the Five were absent...
7. Not everyone who dies goes to the Spirit Realm. It's not a definite rule behind-the-scenes, but it's vaguely agreed upon that only kung fu practitioners can pass on. It was also Mitchell's idea that all 3 villains were indeed sent to the Realm and that the Chameleon only wanted master VILLAINS summoned. [Pretty sure that retcons Lord Shen but alas-]
8. Pelican is named Chip, and a female. The fish in her beak is Fish.
9. Calvin Tsang, Head of Story, directed "a short film for KFP 4". Though, DreamWorks gave him a low budget but apparently he pulled enough favors for it to work out, with Stephanie describing it as "amazing, seriously" and shows "how strong of a director's voice he has".
10. Future spin-offs uncertain. DreamWorks has dissolved most, if not all, of its TV division.
11. Though, Mitchell was very vocal about a F5 spinoff. Execs are aware of the fans' demand for it.
12. Shifu's staff lacks its golden piece since it has been repaired following his mastery of Chi, per production designer Paul Duncan. (Same man responsible for bringing back the Dagger of Deng Wa with his attention to detail.)
13. Universal mandated for a tentpole film like KFP4 to have "stars" hired for voicework.
14. For the record, Stephanie wanted for KFP4 to "stay truer to KFP1 and KFP 2" but was dismissed as a nobody by the crew.
15. Case in point, she wanted Tai Lung being brought back to be done right. She pitched for Po/Shifu to have a vision of the Chameleon kidnapping Shifu, prompting Po to go on a quest to stop her. Shifu gets kidnapped anyway due to the Chameleon's manipulations, and he's hence present to say goodbye to Tai Lung. The execs loved it but "someone axed it". For those who've seen the film, the vision was reduced to Po's dream enroute to Juniper City.
16. Another example of Stephanie's intervention, she fought for Zhen to be redeemed ONSCREEN after betraying Po, much to the writers' refusal. She was supposed to swoop in out of nowhere to fight the Chameleon for a bit and disappears quickly again. She also ensured that her redemption scene wasn't just dialogue and had action going on. (She admits to Po and Zhen's underbaked relationship not supplementing this scene enough though.)
17. The writers seemed to HATE comments "poking holes at the story".
18. Zhen is a Corsac Fox as its the Asian fox with distinctive facial features.
19. Nico Marlet, renowned concept artist, only worked on the film for a week, left, and refused to come back.
20. Many crewmembers pitched ideas for Zhen's family's backstory but all were discarded.

Goddamn! That explains the issues. What a mess of filmmaking.
Someone should fucking fired the director. The fact that he was even insisted against making the backstory and depth for the villain AND the freaking main supporting character shows how little he cares for the franchise.
I refuse to believe they would let someone this incompetent direct a movie as highly anticipated as kung fu panda 4. What kind of moron fights against making their main villain and protagonist less deep and complex and leave them as a 1 dimensional mess
That.. explains why kfp 4 was so shit
What an absolute shambles, holy f*ck.
As flawed as the third film was, especially with it going over board with the jokes and how it handled Kai as a villain, you could tell that the people who made it genuinely cared and it still had some amazing moments (the talk that Po and Li Shan have about Po's mother is genuinely one of my favourite moments in the entire trilogy) I agree that Kung Fu Panda 3 isn't perfect, but I do think it's a bit overheated
But with the 4th film it lacks the soul of the original trilogy, there are some good ideas that had potential (the Chameleon for example being able to transform into her enemies is a really cool idea) but this film feels more like it wanted to cash in on people's nostalgia rather then genuinely wanting to continue Po's story
That's not true. The entire movie is actually setting up the next chapter of the franchise. Transitioning po from dragon warrior to a real leader aswell as setting up the new character that will take on his duty. This was more of a transitioning movie to the next 2
My issue with Kai isn’t even him as a villain it’s more that Oogway is the personal connection and the backstory and the two could had been explored further.
@@Fairy-Uvinq I can see where your coming from but that doesn't excuse the films many problems, there are plenty of films that set up story arcs for later films while also being a good movie on their own (httyd is a great example, it sets up ideas and arcs for its characters for the 2nd and 3rd films while standing well on its own)

Forest Gump approves.
Pretty much
What REALLY worries me now, with them having planned there to be 6 movies, is that they left themselves in a very weak spot to expand from. So unless they want to give Zhen the Furious Five treatment in the next movies, we’re pretty much stuck with an underdeveloped, shallow character for the rest of the movies, or they have to waste screen time in the next movie to build her into a character worth caring about, when that should have happened in this one 😭
Genuinely, giving Po an apprentice had SO much potential so I personally see how more movies could’ve been crucial, to be able to give Po some pretty cool character growth. If they wanted KFP 4 to be like the ones before it, and didn’t drown Zhen and Po’s scenes with random comedy, I honestly believe they could’ve had a really sweet mentor/student relationship if they explored more of the emotional aspects of Zhen having not had a respectable person to look up to, until Po. (I don’t think they even gave a specific reason as to why her “family” of criminals even disliked her?? Or how she became an orphan?) :(
Having Kungfu Panda and mid being used in the same sentence is painful to both see and hear.
It was painful watching the movie and leaving the theaters extremely underwhelmed.
Yeah should have made it so the valley of peace was attacked randomly by past villains, causing Po and the furious five to be all "What?! But he should be dead"

The fourth movie should have been an overall more emotional film. How about shifu being too old/ill to be the current master requring Po to be the new master. Po would feel apprehensive about this new responsibility and struggle with living up to Shifus legacy. A gut wrech could be thrown in where shifu unfortunately dies and Po has to become the next master. He adjusts to this new position setting up for the next film to be about the next dragon warrior. I made this in 5 minutes so im not sure if it shows here. 🤣
Wasn’t this just the 3. movie in some way. Po learned how to teach people there. He also got inner peace what should stress him less I think. He should be able to be more free in action now.
They've poorly written the likes of General Kai - Supreme Warlord of All China and the Master of pain. Have they ever even considered just how much of a menace he was on the last movie? He has more experience than Tai Lung that he was able to turn him into one of his jade collections. The fact that Tai Lung himself is heck of a powerhouse then being conquered by the fiercest general speaks for itself. But they didn't bother giving him a single freaking line?????????? And a successor? really? They could've let po's reputation and strength evolve by those enchanted cage things; it is said to be in equal par with the prowess of ten Dragon warriors. So, why not do that? Let him have a journey like the last trilogy did: He did not defeat Tai Lung, Lord Shen, or even Kai OVERNIGHT!
Kun Fu Panda 4 feels more like a reboot than a continuation in my opinion.

When I heard about KFP4 and that Tai Lung was coming back? I realized there was a lot of potential interpersonal character drama between him & Po! It'd test Po's new role as a master to teach a student, especially one that was a former opponent that started Po towards his journey of becoming the Dragon Warrior!
Po could've been not just the teacher that Tai Lung needed? But a friend that guided him towards a new path in life. And then I realized Awkwafina was in it and remembered that the only consistency in Dreamworks is how inconsistent they are with their quality.
Tai lung deserved the sucessor Mantle more
Any movie Aquafina is in, she straight up sucks. The only good movie she was in, was Shang-Chi. She sucks as an actor though.
Tai Lung DEFINITELY deserved it more; he’s been training kung fu since he could CRAWL, while the fox girl’s been stealing since she could scamper about. When her potential was shown, she got taken in by the Chameleon; when Tai Lung was ready for his work to pay off, he gets denied and BREAKS SHIFU’S HIP. (My personal theory is that Shifu gentle-parented him…never humbled or disciplined him regarding his emotions, which would make his giant outburst make some sense. I feel like Shifu raised him kung fu wise, not as an impressionable kid wise..Tai Lung feels like someone who’s grown into a weapon with unstable emotions, since his physical attributes were obviously crucial in Shifu’s eyes)
Tai Lung beat the Furious Five the day after breaking out of his ‘cell’, which was a SHELL WITH SEDATIVES. HE WAS IN THAT SEDATIVE SHELL FOR 20 YEARS….and he still rocked their shit MASSIVELY. Zhen’s just…sneaky….
I cannot believe they threw in an absolutely random girl to be Po’s successor, when Tai Lung was redeemable! Po, if he was mature like the other movies, could’ve given Tai Lung advice when it comes to dealing with emotions. (Ahem, ahem, *THERAPY*) Then Tai Lung can have character development and learn he isn’t *just* his kung fu skills. That man ran all the way from his prison to the valley WITHOUT REST STOPS, after just escaping a literal metal straight jacket that constantly sedates him! He was sedated for 20 YEARS, still kicked major ass, and he gets filtered down into *the nerve attack*?? Absolutely disrespectful, Tai Lung deserved better.
The whole movie is just…lackluster, in my opinion! The writers could’ve gone a different route when it came to the whole ‘finding the dragon warrior thing’- the current Dragon Warrior/spirit guide (or whatever they said in the movie) gets ‘nonsensical’ dreams that star becoming visions of the next dragon warrior. This would be the reason Po’s suddenly on the hunt for the next dragon warrior instead of Shifu forcing him to do it. This could ALSO be the reason why Oogway said Tai Lung wasn’t the dragon warrior, because he didn’t get that feeling. It would make sense why they have an arena, so the current warrior can find that person the visions are about.
(I.e, Oogway’s vision for Po could’ve included the feeling of raw potential, black/white splotches and dumplings….Po’s could’ve had grey short fur, purple fabric, and piercing yellow eyes with the feeling of raw emotion. Since both Zhen and Tai Lung have those features….we could’ve had a whole fake-out, especially if Po told Shifu and Zhen appeared during the whole arena scene.)
Personally, that’s so much better than just being like ‘Oh, Po has to find his successor now! Yipee!’ ???? It felt so weird and awkward when they did that….like, I KNOW they weren’t having the dragon warrior search EVERY SINGLE YEAR, so why is it so rushed? And we couldn’t even have them age a bit more? Like, Shifu looks the same, Po looks the same…I know they took away Po’s growth from the last two movies and made him egotistical, but they couldn’t have established some time gone by? I had so much hope for this movie… :/
While I did know that this movie will be somewhat of a failure, I imagined how it could be actually good based on all the trailers and leaks. One of the very first ideas about the good version of the plot I had was that the new journey will be about Tai Lung and Po. How they'll have a common enemy they both need to defeat so while being together Po could teach Tai Lung about all the wisdom he obtained. And at the end Po will make Tai Lung the new Dragon Warrior. I don't know if it's actually good or not but it's deffinetly more interesting than what we had
The Furious 5 have been getting done dirty lately. They weren’t in the last 2 shows and now a whole movie. They got their own fight scene in the first movie, they went on the journey with Po in the second, third movie they had a mix of both. They better get their own movie to make up for this. I would love to see that.
I remember the guy behind the original movies being like “we have a funny concept and then we wanted to surprise people with more movie that they would expect”, man can they bring that guys vision back?
The fact they tried to present the chameleon as some sort of ideallogical opposition to "change is good" with those back to back scenes and that "dont change" line is HILARIOUS. 'Cause ya' know? Her whole schtick is that she's a shape shifting sorceress who can take any form who's name is the CHAMELEON.
What disappointed me the most is that Jennifer Yuh Nelson didn't return to direct and instead of another fresh new director, they got Mike Mitchell (Shrek 4 and Trolls).
_Shrek 4_ is great. _Trolls_ and this film though.....
Remember when we said that dreamworks is making a comeback? Still waiting for it. People really need to stop being so forgiving to them just because Disney sucks now. You can criticise both companies without trying to act like one is the second coming of Christ.
Dreamworks made one fantastic film recently and that’s enough for people to think they are great
KFP3 was clearly the end of poe’s journey, so how do we make another movie? The furious 5. You want tai lung? Make tigress the main protagonist and her journey. Don’t forget that both tigress and tai lung were adopted by shifu, KFP1 had poe banish tai lung to the spirit realm (we know that’s what happens since he does the same to himself and Kai in KFP3) poe could’ve planned this with oogway, he would already be in the spirit realm so you can still have his iconic wisdom lines (also poe to tigress) by the end of the movie, tai lung would be protective of his younger sister and they would reunite
I loved the series. Especially 1 and 2, it was something both kids and adults could understand. There was grief, passion, and someone who didn't fit in. It was something I rewatched as a teen even now. Now it's for tiny little kids, and while I understand why its for kids, thats not why I'm mad. I'm mad that kids now cant feel what I felt as a kid back then. Dreamworks fell off.
DreamWorks didn't fall of they always been like this either mid or peak Shrek 2 and Shark Tale came out in the same damn year.
I was not able to keep watching it after the first 15 minutes. Once they tried to justify why the Furious Five would not appear on the movie, first thing that came to my mind was: "So you are basically telling me that you did not want to pay the voice actors, because you wanted to make a cheap movie. Which also means I should not expect the same amount of effort nor quality as in the previous ones."
And sure as shit the next scene screamed bad writing and low effort. Po is barely recognizable... He went from mature yet cheerful to an arrogant childish jerk. The sidekick character is an avalanche of cliches. The villain is absolutely pathetic and her motivations made 0 sense. It really felt like everything that people who haven´t given Kung Fu Panda a chance think that Kung Fu Panda is.
Just watching the trailers, I doubt the chameleon villain would even get a backstory on why she became a villain in the first place unlike the other Kung Fu Panda movies.
Tai Lung becomes a villain because he felt betrayed by Shifu when he did nothing after Oogway saying he wasn't worthy of having the Dragon Scroll.
Shen becomes a villain because of a prophecy saying that he'll be defeated by a warrior of black & white if continuing his treacherous path.
Kai becomes a villain because he wanted chi to become more powerful.
The Chameleon? Nothing.
The Chameleon is just insecure about her fighting abilities so she learns magic and goes on a power trip with her phony abilities. Kinda lame imo.
Also they established chi in the 3rd movie which seemed like the same exact thing as the “king full abilities” that she stole
The chameleon reminds me of the mlp movie villain. Nobody wanted to play ball with you because you're different? Welcome to the 90% of the world that are not murderous, dictatorial maniacs for it. But at least that character had suffered a serious emotional and physical injury
funny enough you are right. she just talks about it, no flashback or nothing.
I feel like even as a child the movies that imprinted/impacted me the most were the serious ones, Mulan the first movie still is probably my favorite movie, I remember watching it on a 12 inch fat box tv on the kitchen floor and it moved me
THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT HOW TERRIBLE THE PACING WAS. it was genuinely painful because of how fast it went.
dreamworks has been on an awful lose streak since ruby gillman (not entirely including migration)
If they wanted to make a new film it should have been about Tai Lung having been left in the normal world after Po beat Kai and made the theme about forgiveness. Tai Lung is the least evil villain, his entire mission being purely personal, and now Po has to confront the fact Shifu and Oogway’s mistakes made Tai Lung who he is. If they wanted to incorporate The Chameleon then have her steal Tai Lung’s kung fu which forces him to go get help from Po and The Five. The two have to find a middle ground, Tai Lung regretting his actions while Po realizing that teachers need to acknowledge their mistakes in order to be better. The entire film could rap with Tai Lung becoming the drag warrior after finding inner peace and Po being able to relax, make some bullshit up about Tai Lung not having aged in the spirit realm idfk.
Tai lung being the next dragón Warriors is a better story
I don’t see that part with him being the next dragon warrior to be honest, but the helping and forgiveness part I really like. Just them finding their peace too at the end would have been great.
I just left the theater from seeing it with my daughter. This title is spot on accurate.
So maybe unrelated but it has been increasingly bothering me the more I’ve been thinking about it.
So early in the movie Po was talking about fighting the fire breathing crocodile and forgetting his name just casually mentioning him like he’s no big deal.
Then he’s revealed to have been one of the villains brought back from the spirit realm meaning that he was dead. Since he was dead after Po fought him the conclusion is likely that it was Po that offed him. While we don’t know just how long it has been between movies it seems like the kill was fairly recent but I could be wrong.
While I know that Po is not adverse to killing dangerous foes the way he was just casually disrespecting a person he has killed just seems disturbing. Like “oh yhea, remember that guy I killed. Can’t really remember his name but I do remember fighting him.”
Am I the only one finding this disturb?
Feels more like they missed the implications and this is just a plothole -> therefore po being ooc
@@martaleja9279 Fair enough.
One of Po's struggles in this is not wanting to pass down the title of Dragon Warrior to someone else.
The Chameleon has an apprentice who she has no intentions of passing down her skills to.
It would be so easy to make her a more compelling villain through dichotomy with Po just like they did with Shen, it's right there.
A massive missed opportunity would have been to have Po and Tai Lung team up against the Chameleon. Like, maybe make it so she can only steal the energy od one person at a time, actually giving Tai Lung a reason to be in the movie.
Oooh and kai and lord shen as supports shen throwing his feather blades to keep the chameleon unbalanced and kai giving chi ( i think i spelled that right) to boost there attacks
@@dracon996_Harley That would have been SO much better. I wish that's what happenrd.
@SkylerDemness same here but no we got what we got 😞
I thought it was missed not having Tigress in there too with Tai Lung considering they're essentially adopted siblings and stuff. Plus the contrasts of Tigress having come to terms/being at peace she isn’t the Dragon Warrior unlike Tai Lung. There coulda been some great character building.
@@Wolf-ChalkThe more ideas people give for this movie the more dissapointing the actual movie becomes.
Okay, I just came up with this crazy idea for a motive for the Chameleon, as well as a few major rewrites. If the Kung Fu Panda franchise is gonna have six movies, then in my opinion Tai Lung should be saved for the very last one for thematic reasons. Also I really don’t see a reason for Lord Shen or Kai to return since they don’t do anything in the story.
So anyway, in this version, the Chameleon isn’t trying to summon Tai Lung or any other Kung Fu masters, instead she uses her sorcery to summon much more powerful, much more ancient warriors for their power. The dinosaurs.
Okay, I know it sounds crazy but hear me out. In this version, the Chameleon is the leader of an enormous cult-like empire consisting of reptiles that was founded from the discovery of dinosaur bones. From these bones, her ancestors rationalised that reptiles like them were once gods of the earth and so view themselves as superior to the other animals and, as such, the Chameleon’s empire goes around subjugating countless tribes, forcing them to conform to her empire’s doctrine. Through her sorcery, she manages to summon various dinosaurs, who’s spiritual energy she steals in order to gain their abilities, and no one’s able to stand in her way because large dinosaurs are more powerful than the mammals and birds that oppose her. At the same time, however, there’s hints that the Chameleon doesn’t really believe that the dinosaurs were gods, but keeps up the charade in order to hold onto her power.
So anyway, one day the Chameleon hears about this so called Dragon Warrior from China. Upon hearing about Po, Oogway, and the legends of the Dragon Scroll and the Chinese Dragons, the Chameleon becomes furious, and so, seeing this as a threat to her power and everything her empire stands for, she advances towards China, with the intent to destroy Po, and the very legend of the Dragon Warrior.
Again, this is a fucking crazy idea, but I just thought it would be interesting.
Crazyy
I always saw Kung Fu Panda 3 as the conclusion of the franchise. I believed there didn’t need to be more sequels. I believe that there’s no more story to continue.
And then, Kung Fu Panda 4 came out…
Sigh.
And we are getting Kung Fu Panda 5.
And THEN 6
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the huge pacing issues this movie has. KFP4 is a solid movie to me but man there are so many scenes that start and end so fast.
Exactly, I honestly liked the plot a lot here but definitely felt rushed in some areas. Although, I don’t like to shame on art if I can sense some care put into the product and I think the comments about how Mid it is are just a bit too negative minded. Although this is it
@@champgaminghero I'd go for the pacing of Kung Fu Panda 4 over Hazbin Hotel.
@@jeremychicken3339 I disagree. Hazbin at least has slow moments. KFP4 does not.
@@TheUnmitigatedDawn HA! No.
Solid in the sense that jello is technically a solid? The pacing was bad, the dialogue was bad, the jokes were corny compare to KFP1+2 and even 3.
It seemed pretty short, why did they exclude the F5?? They made the Chameleon so op in the final fight, and somehow she gets easily beaten?? The villains just magically forgave Po after getting their kung fu back and the movie felt really like a fast and quick simple story. The jokes are also mid. This movie is ruining the kung fu panda movies, and the 5th and 6th aren’t gonna be any better is what I think. This 4th one further ties up the franchise and for some reason they are carrying it on. Dream-works must be very greedy.
They excluded them.suppossedly partially because the vas cost a lot partially because Mike Mitchell
The way you describe how bad the pacing in this film. Reminds me how bad the pacing of the Mario Movie is.
I’ve yet to see this film, but now I’m worried if Iwill watch a film that doesn’t stop or takes it’s time to breath like with Mario.
Also, A huge congratulations that your channel is safe, and Smash Bandicoot getting terminated for good. You deserve a rest
Dreamworks being once again inconsistent with the quality of movies i swear this studios has the most bipolar movie they release
theres a lot of things i hate about this movie (the way Po seems like he was taken from the first movie, the phoned in message of Change, the awful new character designs, the constant corny jokes, etc.) but what killed the movie for me was when the Chameleon was talking about how she was denied Kung Fu because she was too small or whatever. What about Mantis and Master Rat? The entire story is built on this motivation, and it's just wrong 💀
update: i don't like Roz's new design, but if it's anything like the book, The Wild Robot is gonna be insane.
2:53 i actually cringed, couldn't even keep it in my chest
i lowkey think they didn't include the furious 5 in this movie just so less people stop to question why the aquafina fox is the one becoming the dragon warrior instead of any of them lmao
They've already filled up a whole cast (that includes trying to get roles for their voice actors)
LITERALLY. It should have been Tigress, out of the furious five she has developed the most, and had the closest relationship with Po.
I am so disappointed. I knew just from the trailer alone that Zhen will become a teacher or the dragon warrior. Po, did you flrget about your friends??? The furious Five??
The Awkwafina character is forgettable, and it would've been better if the VA was replaced by an actual talented person, and if Zhen was a bullied kid who goes to Po to learn self defense and was the one Po chose to be the Dragon Warrior by the end.
@@SkylerDemness a redeemed Tai lung could have worked

Realistically DreamWorks doesn't really miss their Sequels. What follows however......
Puss in boots 2 is Dreamworks’ personal Encanto
