10mm is no joke, it's definitely an absolute beast of a round. Plenty of power and great ballistic performance all in one package. Hell, I own a .357 mag revolver and a .44 mag revolver, and my Glock 20 is still my pride and joy, of course I also like my Rock Island 1911 chambered in 10mm. 10mm is just an absolute joy to shoot due to its versatility.
45 acp is only really good for running suppressed, since it's naturally subsonic with typical loads. Otherwise, the energy delivered on target, in 2021, is really not discernibly better than 9mm. Always remember, speed increases energy by a factor of three, vs mass, which offers a factor of 1.5. For this reason, 10mm is king of the semi-autos.

I have both a 10 and a 9 and it’s always funny when I take them to the range... if I start with shooting only the 10mm then switch to the 9mm and the 9mm feels almost recoilless 😂
Lol only noobs complain .. noobs don’t prepare noobs don’t have guns hence the market gouging off that .. in 2 years when things return to normal you won’t be seen until another pandemic/ election crying
Just don't buy from CTD... Got an email from them... a box of 50 Winchester White Box 124 grain FMJ 9MM was $99, plus shipping. I bought a box of 20 Norma 108 grain MHP 9MM online for $28.99 plus shipping...
Glock 29 is the most versatile handgun ever made, especially if you reload. I can carry it as a woods gun with 200-220gr hard cast, I can carry it as an EDC with anything from 135-200gr hollow points, and I can download it to shoot softer than 9mm so my wife can shoot it comfortably. It’s reasonably concealable (like a thicker G19), and dead reliable.
The best all around cartridge is the one that you can hit with. I used to love the 45 acp. I have developed rheumatoid arthritis. Now 3 rounds with a 1911 and I'm done for the week. However with my Bersa 380 Thunder plus I can go about 75 rounds. For me the the best round is the one that I can practice with and hit with.
Roland, practice, or just scratch that shooting itch with a 22lr handgun. It'll be easier on the arthritis too. Plenty of 22 pistols or revolvers. Or, advantage arms sells a 22 completed slide with barrel that uses a glock gen 1-4 frame, or a polymer 80 frame.
@@5jjt I use that AA 22LR conversion kit on my Glock 31 and my Glock 22. It’s both fun and great practice. Next better thing than dry practice. And it helps me a lot shoot better with 9mm, 357-Sig and 40.
I always thought the S&W stood for short and weak. I had one. Not a fan of its ballistics. Sold it and now take apart the ammo I still have and put them in the 10mm cases.
Love the 10mm! For carry I suggest real 10mm ammo by Underwood, Buffalo Bore or Fenix. Double Tap, Fiocchi, and Sig also offer solid loadings albiet a step down in power from that of the aforementioned full power loads.
I own a Glock 20 and here in south texas when ammo is on the shelf at academy i notice hardly anyone buys 10 mm , so I have managed to stock a good amount in a short time but for edc Im a 357 magnum guy , you can't beat 125 grain Remington SJHP out of a 357 magnum
Buffalo bore 180grn jhps At 1350 fps is no joke from a Glock 20. 357 snubby is gonna be my next carry gun though carry a Glock 29 atm but wanna get some class
@@chromosomehoarder6927 I really like the 10mm. However, I also spent the money on the 460 Roland and get 1300+ fps from a 230 grain Hornady XTP. I think your numbers may be a little low for the 10 mm. Mine puts heavy bullets down range faster than you mentioned.
Love your videos. You get me called a Fudd... since I carry a .45 ACP because of you. I am convinced that the only real advantage to a 9mm over something more potent is capacity.
The .40Super is ✅ but never became popular. 😪 I agree that the .357sig is a great CCW-defense caliber but as noted, the gun makers, ammunition firms are not big on .357sig in 2021. I'd add that I owned a gen 4 Glock 20 10mm, grey cerakote/grey factory Glock frame. The gun was excellent & I had 0 issues with it. I added Storm Lake .40S&W stainless barrel to aid in range training. The 20 misfired a few times with the Storm Lake barrel but the .40S&W & 10mm are NOT the exact same. .40s are a 1mm 2mm off in some sections. I used 10mm Hornady XTP 155gr or the zippy Critical Duty.
I loved my Glock 33. Carried it for years. Even had a .40 barrel for lest costly training.....but figured out I was losing a lot of muzzle velocity. So ended up switching to a G26.
I also wouldn't mind getting a .357 sig, but you're right about it being expensive and hard to find. Also, I am glad to see that I'm not the only person that sees this so called ammo shortage as a big scam.
10mm is a great round and even better if you reload. Reloading the 10 put you pennies from a 9 reload. Also the 10 can be download for a fun plinking day at the range up to a big animal defense round and anywhere in between. In a 1911 its no bigger than a 9 and if we end having to go back to a 10 round mag limit the 9 loses the biggest argument that is round count. For personal defense you just proved it can be shot just as fast as a 9. So for me 10 vs 9 the 10 stomps the 9
The problem with off the shelf, standard production 10mm doesn’t live up to the full potential of the round. You go to something like Buffalo Bore or Underwood and you get full power 10mm!
So I live in Texas and we hunt wild pigs round here. 9mm they run off and die 10mm they hit the dirt. So in a self defense situation say the badguy is shooting back do you want him to shoot back at you and then drop or do you want him to drop instant think it over!
I'm in Texas as well, I would like to get a 10mm.. I always like to use my carry ammo/gun combo as a backup when hog hunting. Nothing will give you more (or less) confidence in your carry setup than using it to kill a large creature in the woods.
I own the glock 29 it is the compact versions of the glock 20 also in 10mm and absolutely love it only lose about 40 or 50 fps over the full size glock 20
I’ve been carrying 10mm for years (Glock 29) and have 2 Glock 20s for other purposes. If you are getting into 10mm though I would suggest getting into reloading if you aren’t already.
10 is the caliber as far as I am concerned. As a bonus, you can shoot 40 S&W from that Glock 20 also. They feel like you are shooting a 9mm Great for range shooting and saving your bear loads for when you need them. I reload for 10mm and they reload very nicely. You can also reload them for any range of power.
10mm. It can kill a 1,200 grizzly and a 110 psycho with a knife. My Glock 20 is my primarily carry in the woods here in Alaska. 220 grain Buffalo bore.
@Jack Mehoff No it cannot. You’d be dead before the bear hits the ground period. I seriously doubt you’ve ever even seen a wild brown bear. Let alone and 1,000 plus pound bear.
Sackmatters have you looked at the underwood hard cast? It’s slightly hotter. I have both Buffalo bore and Underwood. Just threw it out there since you clearly know what’s up. They tend to have 10mm in stock and at decent prices even these days
@@erikmichael1901 I have seen them. I haven’t personally used them but I know a few people that do and they perform very well. Unfortunately I can’t find them in stock anywhere up here because everyone has a 10mm. In December I could buy all the 10mm I wanted until I started to see all of the 10mm gun flying off the shelf.... in my experience I had to upgrade to a 22lb recoil spring because of the hotter and heavier loads. I had major extraction issues.
Sackmatters Underwood ammos website is out of stock right now but they do fluctuate in and out of stock..I just got some stuff from them a month ago. Keep an eye out. Good tip on the recoil spring. I might should get one, never had any issues but it’s a backup gun for hunting. Last thing I want is a malfunction when I’m needing the “oh crap, I’m about to get attacked” gun
@@Sackmatters www.wideopenspaces.com/alaska-man-kills-charging-brown-bear-with-a-9mm-pistol/ But 9mm can kill bears, and has. Could 10mm do a better job? Maybe. Doesn't mean you need to count out 9mm (especially ones with good loads). That extra capacity can be handy too.
10mm is impressive and would make a lot of sense for animal defense. I prefer the 45 for edc because it is fat and slow and I think it offers effective terminal ballistics with minimal pass through, reducing the chance of hitting bystanders in the unlikely event of needing to use your defense when others are around.
Bags of flour and gelatin are nice to be able to see some comparisons, however, in the only police officer self defense shooting with a 10mm I saw was in 1989. The 10mm bullet entered point blank the front chest and stopped just inside the skin on the dead man's back. The medical examiner merely cut the skin and removed the highly deformed bullet. The bullet path gelatinized the thoracic cavity...lung, much of the heart, and damage to the spine.
I bought my 10mm XDM a year ago and it’s now my favorite round. I till carry my 9mm’s. However, it is the jack of all. And I hope that more gun manufacturers come out with more options
Love my Glock 40MOS. Been a 10mm fan for a long time and couldn’t be happier to see its resurgence over the past few years. In use my G40 for backpacking/hiking/camping when I’m in bear country. Loaded with some hot 180gr JHP from Buffalo Bore, it’s a potent pistol against 2 and 4 legged predators.
The 9 mm will also shoot the 380. If you can get the 9mm to chamber (I have a 380 but never tried to chamber a 9mm.) If it chambers it will shoot a 9mm, or so I have been told many times. It's out here in UA-cam land.
@@terryglenweaver well you are almost right. The bullet is the same but, the diameter of the rims....not even close. Now there are some 9mm that will shoot 380 but, it is not because they are the same.
I am a fan of the 357 magnum. Revolver and Rifle. I am also a Handloader for the 357. Versatility is what the 357 is all about. Light loads for the range and simple practice. The heavier and loaded hot I use for Hunting. Deer and hogs have been taken with the 357. Precice bullet placement and then it only takes one shot.
The 357 magnum imho is still the most versatile round available. The 10mm has the capacity advantage and the power advantage out of a 3" barrel, but the 357 mag improvements are huge after you go beyond a 4" barrel. Out of a 16" carbine you are hitting mediocre rifle levels of energy.
Bit of history.... after the infamous Miami shootout, where the FBI were outgunned, they wanted a more powerful pistol round. Winchester and S&W came up with the 10mm. When the FBI tried it they found that the 10mm was too snappy, and they couldn't do their required double-tap shots. The FBI asked for it to be toned down, and the case was shortened to become the .40 S&W.... so yes, the .40 S&W is the "10mm short"...
@Jack Mehoff honestly, even regular .357 magnum is overrated as well. Look at the 1981 Miami Dade shootout, the FBI agents were using 9mm and .357 mag handguns to shoot the bad guys and they had a hell of a time stopping them. The bad guys were hit multiple times with those rounds and they kept going. That's the reason the FBI tried switching to 10mm, but the wreak wristed pencil pushing agents couldn't handle a little extra recoil of the 10mm, and that's kind of how .40 S&W was born.
@Jack Mehoff The 357Magnum is Great at Penetrating....as long as you penetrate the right place! Shooting someone in the heart with a 357....doesn't have to go all the way through them, just hitting the heart & they're done! Plus....over penetration is a bad thing! You don't want to shoot the bad guy, but have your round go through them & into an innocent bystander!
Just a couple of practical tips and observations concerning the table breakage, i found it can be taken care of by a thin piece of sheet metal, I would say perhaps 3/16 or 1/8 in attached with copious amounts of contact cement, and for an xtra bit of retention a good 3/8 or 1/2 in machine bolt with a flat washer under the bolt head and another one with a 'nylock' nut lock washer at each end of the tale, or just under where the gell is placed . My table just like yours, hollow plastic
that folds from Home Depot has lasted for almost 3 yrs. with the extra protection, and doesn't weigh that much more. Don't forget as cold as it appears to be that it makes that thin plastic very brittle, and probably affects that ballistic gel too, making it more rigid and has some effect on the projectiles penetration and expansion. The propellant also loses a little power with burn time if exposed to cold temps, if extreme enough. I've even tried battery warming socks on mags in the firearm and spares if i find I'm going to be out in low enough temps for a while.
I have the Sig Tacops 10mm and it's a powerhouse. I shoot 100 yards with little trajectory with a 180 grn HP. Really a good option for a workhorse caliber. Great video, thanks for posting.
You said the temp was -10°F??? 😳 Your table was made brittle by those 40 degrees lower than freezing temps. It also changed your clear gel drastically. Making it "thicker" or more dense. Good video. I want a 40 now! Maybe 2! 😃🤣🤣🤣 3k subs in 1 week?!? Awesome dude.
I actually carry the Underwood 9mm 124 +p hollow points as my defensive round. Great expansion, super hot load and hits like a truck. I just wish I could find more of them during these times!
Same. I was one of them who didn't carry anything unless it had a "four" in the caliber. even though I still own 45s.....the majority of my weapons are 9 mm now.
The only problems with 10mm and it is my favorite caliber, is.... 1) 10mm Ammo availability is harder to find (before the pandemic ammo shortage) 2) 10mm from most companies is just watered down to .40s&w pressures, which isn’t much more than 9mm. 3) Cost of 10mm ammo sucks balls, especially the full power loads.
Over last 4 years 380 auto became just as popular as 9mm. Love the 10mm prefer 40s&w. Found 380 auto in gun shop was $107.99 box of 50. 1 box limit. So I got the 40 for 38.99 box of 50 2 box limit. They had 9mm 59.99 box of 50 2 box min hopefully still have some today?

@Jack Mehoff while I agree that shot placement matters. You really shouldn't be calling people stupid. 10mm is a great round. There are certain situations where penetration and capacity matter, which in the G20 offers both. By your logic everyone could pack a .22 Derringer and be okay as long as shots are placed right. Its different strokes for different folks. There are different set ups for every situation.
@Jack Mehoff I agree that shot placement is important but I have property in bear country. I'm not gonna hype 10mm up as the best for everything especially considering most factory loads are weakly loaded. But when it comes to bears. Underwood ammo is hitting with 400lbs with 9mm vs 700lbs with 10mm which is huge when it comes to dangerous game.

Depends on your state . Alaska has a shortage but common calibers are available weekly here . 9mm 556 40 10 308 22lr 12G 20G The prices are all over the place but usually not bad . 7.62x39 has been the only common round that's hard to find here
10 millimeter is the best millimeter! My Gen III G20 stoked with 200 gr XTPs @ 1250 fps has been my shadow, my every day companion on the streets and the woods for over about 15 years. It for sure isn't a 9mm when it comes to splits and controllability, but if you're carrying full stoked 10mm Auto, that is kind of the point. I've taken everything from feral cats to deer with my 10mm, and woods carry it in NW MT, which is bear country. If I could only have one, it would be my G20. In fact, it has been my only handgun for much of the 15 years I've carried it daily.
I bought the Sig Sauer P365 9MM Last week as my 1st handgun with a permit. As a 1st 9MM Owner I love it recoil was noting to me as I've not shot nothing since I was a kid. It felt good expecting to get atleast 10 more magz including the 15 round mag. Mine came with the 12 round standard. Going to stock up on ammo like crazy as well...
While quarantined at home with C19 I did lots off reading as I get closer to a decision whether I buy a 10mm or not. I have a G21.4 in 45acp I picked up as the C10 ramped up so no shoot yet. A complete G20 upper would also work. Since the G22.5 is heavier and beefier I went over ballistics comparing 40 v 10. I am not sure a 40 S&W from the hard hitters like Underwood, Buffalo Bore or other High Performance Heavy for Caliber Ammo would not satisfy my Mini 10mm round.
I have a Springfield 4.5" xdm 10mm and the hellcat in 9mm. Otw 10 all day. If I'm concealing it's the hellcat. The 10 is just so versatile with it's loads. I love it. Having 15+1 in 10mm is pretty sweet!
Late comment. I'll stick with 45 Super and my 1911. Set the gun up gor 45 Super and you can shoot 45auto, 45 auto +P and 45 Super! A 230g 45 Super at 1150 - 1200 fps has 675 to 735 footpounds of energy. If you know what your doing handloads can reach almost 900 footpounds. THIS IS NO JOKE! EXCELLENT VIDEO!!
Great test bro, I can see the 10mm is waay more than most people need. If I ever move to Alaska, I think I'll get one or 2. All joking aside, I'll stick wif my 9's. Keep those test coming man, yours are some of the best.
I love my 10mm Glock and does feel like a .44 Magnum not like a .45 acp (I shoot all 3 calibers)when shooting it but its nearly impossible to find ammo for it nowadays.I am glad I stocked up a bit 3 years ago but been looking for more for over a year and nothing, also if you find some it will be very expensive,as much as .44 ammo.
I don't have a 9mm. But will be getting one. I have 40 and 45. But I have a lot of 9mm rounds from my sons police academy training left. So I cant let it go to waste.
.40 cal is the exact same projectile as the 10mm. 10 mil is a longer cartridge with basically just more powder behind it. .40 is a higher pressure cartridge tho. 357sig is a 9mm projectile in a necked down. 40cal cartridge. Gets confusing but I wouldn't want to catch any of em in the nugget! ( or anywhere else for that matter ) On a different note, in below zero temps, plastic ( the table ) gets kinda brittle. With the shock of the gel expansion when the round hit it...I'm sure you get the picture.
Perhaps the decreased penetration is caused by the colder (increased density) gel block...Also, muzzle rise, (recoil arc) was noticeably greater with the Underwood loadings.
Oh MAN! It's 02:00am in South Africa, I'm bored and can't find anything on Netflix or UA-cam. What's this? New *1ShotTV* video???? How'd i miss this? Time to make cereal and watch! 🙌🏽🔥
In 1983 Jeff Cooper shorten a .30 Remington case, straight walled it and stuffed a .40 caliber slug from a 38-40 into it, 10mmX25mm was born. The first firearm was a Bren Ten, very expensive for the time. They went bankrupt, then in 1987 Colt came out with their Delta Elite in 10mm Auto version of a 1911. After that the FBI tried it, but agents had problems with the recoil. Winchester came out with the .40 S&W. That has had its ups and downs, you either love it or hate it. Gun writers got their hands on some 10mm's and found the gun to be controllable and had a little more power than the .357 Magnum with more capacity, 10mm Auto was off to the races, it took a while to gain popularity. I got my first in 1993 in a Delta Elite. That fall I took a mule deer buck at 90 yards, one shot, been sold on it ever since. Launching a 180 grain 10mm slug is way easier on hands and wrists compared to .45 ACP in the same weight of gun. 10mm Auto is becoming more popular every year and ammo was much easier to find, till now.
10mm ammo is wildly inconsistent. A lot of it these days is so watered down that it's no more powerful than 40s&w. Good hot 10mm is hard to beat and is super powerful. It's also super rare these days. Jeff Cooper would be so disappointed in most of today's 10mm loads.
Absolutely! A surprising number of people don’t know this. If you’re grabbing any old 10mm FMJ off the shelf, you’ll be shooting a 180gr. bullet at roughly 1050fps. That’s exactly what a .40 is. You have to search out the stuff that will be heavy and fast enough to make 10mm worth your while.
A lot of it depends on where you live. You have better luck shopping at the mom and pop stores that have box limits. Ask them when they get a shipment in and there you go.
If you're going to the range, the cheaper 10mm ammo is fine to use in order to save yourself a few bucks. However if u use my 10mm to hunt with I will spend the extra money and buy Buffalo Bore 220 grain hardcast.
Absolutely agree. Although I prefer the Glock 40 for the longer barrel. It’s a credible weapon for deer hunting. If I could only own one weapon, I would keep my Glock 40.
The reason some of the 10mm isn’t too bad to shoot is also one of the main detractors of 10mm. A LOT of the factory loaded 10mm ammunition out there is really just 40s&w in a 10mm case and a 10mm price tag. The stuff that’s actually loaded to 10mm specs has notably more recoil than 9/40/45/357sig. Not an unreasonable amount, but definitely more.
I love my 357sig. It's my EDC. It's a bit snappier than my 9mm pistols, but not much more. I am equally as fast and accurate with either caliber. I had a couple .40 caliber pistols, but sold them a few years ago to get a different gun... I liked the .40 as well, and would carry them before getting the 357sig.
It's funny nobody ever says that about any other caliber. If any thing it shows how the 40 was a waste of time. That's like saying we don't need the 357mag cause we have the 38.
@@biggunshandguns3687 yeah the 40 is a waste of time. The problem is a lot of 10mm is also a waste of time because it’s loaded to 40 velocities and you pay 10mm prices for it. You wouldn’t load a bunch of 357 rounds down to 38 velocity and then say to yourself “wow this 357 is a power house and it’s just as easy to shoot as 9mm” lol. Or better yet load some 357 cases down to 38 velocity, sell them to someone for 357 prices, and then let that person think 357 is both really powerful AND low recoil lol. You’d be a fuckin shister.
The table says Lifetime... your results may vary! Dang I want a Glock 20! I'm thinking I may go with a P80 Glock 20 and build one once I have the money. Great video bro 🇺🇸
I built a “Not a Glock 20” from a P80 Gray frame and it’s badass. I was running my Gen 4 G21 with a threaded 10mm barrel but wanted a dedicated 10mm because I loved it so much. I have lots of specialty rounds for it. I’ll hunt hogs with it tomorrow evening. To bad Ammo is mia or over priced.
sounds like you have to do a 10mm vs. 357magnum! For many the .357 is the do-it-all caliber. You can get it in semi-auto as well, coonan and desert eagle make them in .357 if you dont want to compare the 10mm with a revolver.
Im sure somebody else thats dealt with vinyl siding or plexiglass when its cold has commented but plastic is brittle as hell when its cold. Shingles are the same way. Side note haven't seen anybody do a shingles video......
I'd LOVE to see the comparison to 10mm vs .22lr at speed on a 6 in plate at 10yrds. 10mm 3 shot vs 22 5 shot. After you ran 50yrds to simulate battle stress.
In the woods I carry underwood 220 grain hard cast penetrates like no other arf com done a video of it penetrated over 5 foot of ballistic gel any heavier than 220 grain tends to tumble
Good video.. 10mm is my favorite caliber but not in the glock. I prefer the XDm 10mm. It's more comfortable in the hand, has better factory sights, is more accurate for me and is snappier then a glock and don't need to buy an aftermarket barrel to shoot hardcast.
Tht Glock 20’s grip positions the base of my thumb in the center of the back strap. Not good, but there is a new version out with a slightly reduced grip circumference that just might work. For me, the recoil arc of both the G20 and G21 are the same. (The 21 has a lighter slide.) The severity of the recoil in 10mm Varies greatly, depending on how emphatic the round being fired actually is. I would choose the Underwood Extrema Penetrator for bear...

I have both a 10 and a 9 and it’s always funny when I take them to the range... if I start with shooting only the 10mm then switch to the 9mm and the 9mm feels almost recoilless 😂

9mm for the hoods, 10mm for the woods, true statement for me, Glock 43 and Glock 29
Right on.

Yep... 19 Gen3 and 20 Gen4... 😎👍 #10mmIsKing 👑
Shot placement is the magic.
Many people underestimate the Bersa Thunder in 380. The 380 is no slouch and the Bersa Thunder has good magazine capacity.

Much love from Cuero Tx.
When you shoot out to 75 - 100 yards that 10 mm will still hit with great energy! Try it on steel , the difference is dramatic 😁
Love your videos. You get me called a Fudd... since I carry a .45 ACP because of you.
I am convinced that the only real advantage to a 9mm over something more potent is capacity.
Wish there were more offerings for .357 sig, its an outstanding cartridge, because of the limited offerings it was expensive before the shortage scam.
Storm Lake makes a .357 sig conversion barrel for glock 22😎

10MM is best MM, I love it. Perfect for hunting and 🐻 defense.
Love 9mm for a lot of stuff, also really like 5.7x28, but if I really need some power, I go with my Glock 20.
So for me 10 vs 9 the 10 stomps the 9
@Jack Mehoff really? Then why don't you school me
The problem with off the shelf, standard production 10mm doesn’t live up to the full potential of the round.
Very well said.
10mm is great and the 357 sig is right there with it. The sig might be a little more versatile. Thanks for the video.
Great content. I’ve shot a 10mm 1911 and it was a sweet shooter definitely looking to add one to the collection.
The best caliber is the one that you have with you. Heck even a .22 caliber handgun is better then not carrying.
I love my G20. I keep it in my top drawer for home defense. Your videos are great!
I own the glock 29 it is the compact versions of the glock 20 also in 10mm and absolutely love it only lose about 40 or 50 fps over the full size glock 20
I’ve been carrying 10mm for years (Glock 29) and have 2 Glock 20s for other purposes. If you are getting into 10mm though I would suggest getting into reloading if you aren’t already.
.50 AE change my mind.
Ha, great video as always. That lighting at the end with the sun peering real quick was nearly perfect.
@@Sackmatters www.wideopenspaces.com/alaska-man-kills-charging-brown-bear-with-a-9mm-pistol/
But 9mm can kill bears, and has.
Texas church shooting last year or so. 10mm
In other words the performance was perfect kinda kills the argument10mm over penetrates
I bought my 10mm XDM a year ago and it’s now my favorite round. I till carry my 9mm’s. However, it is the jack of all. And I hope that more gun manufacturers come out with more options
Same! I love that gun. I am so happy to see so many people mention the Springfield XDM.
5.25 here, same time line. #1 son finally talked me into retiring the 1911. Absolutely love it.
I think 10mm is best but, my choice is 9mm. The 9mm is a whole different animal with Underwood 147 grain +p+! She is moving into 357 Sig territory!
The 9 mm will also shoot the 380. If you can get the 9mm to chamber (I have a 380 but never tried to chamber a 9mm.) If it chambers it will shoot a 9mm, or so I have been told many times. It's out here in UA-cam land.
@@terryglenweaverI don't know about that.

I'm not sure if I would carry a 10mil normally but I would pack it camping and hunting

Just like the .380 is the 9mm short. In German it's 9mm Kurtz ... 'short'.

The 9mm is an OK round, but the 357sig is better....& the 357Magnum is even better
Most definitely get yourself a 10mm, you will be quite impressed with the power it has.
@Jack Mehoff The perps were on drugs.
@Jack Mehoff
The 357Magnum is Great at Penetrating....as long as you penetrate the right place! Shooting someone in the heart with a 357....doesn't have to go all the way through them, just hitting the heart & they're done!
Plus....over penetration is a bad thing! You don't want to shoot the bad guy, but have your round go through them & into an innocent bystander!
@@bdr32965 I thought they were shooting 38 special

The only problems with 10mm and it is my favorite caliber, is....
1) 10mm Ammo availability is harder to find (before the pandemic ammo shortage)

@Jack Mehoff while I agree that shot placement matters. You really shouldn't be calling people stupid. 10mm is a great round.

I don't have a 9mm. But will be getting one. I have 40 and 45. But I have a lot of 9mm rounds from my sons police academy training left. So I cant let it go to waste.
Can you get a 9mm barrel for your .40 S&W or do you just want to buy another gun?
.40 cal is the exact same projectile as the 10mm.

Hello from Bosnia and Hercegovina pozz ppn vitezovi.....midll europe
Have you done the 10mm against the 357mag? That would be a better test
I have about 300rds of 180gr underwood gold dots.
A lot of it depends on where you live. You have better luck shopping at the mom and pop stores that have box limits. Ask them when they get a shipment in and there you go.
Underwood extreme defender or extreme penetrator will deliver the 10mm performance you expect.😎
If you're going to the range, the cheaper 10mm ammo is fine to use in order to save yourself a few bucks. However if u use my 10mm to hunt with I will spend the extra money and buy Buffalo Bore 220 grain hardcast.
Mine is still 357 revolver .
My favorite pistol round is 7.5 FK. It's basically 10mm Auto necked down to 30 caliber and has a velocity of 2,000 feet per second!
@Andrew Jackson Yeah, the price is a real issue, I think the Glock 17 looks cooler than the FK Brno.
I was happy to see 10mm was your answer since that was already my answer. ;) G19 --> G20 was my progression. Still have both.
10 mil it is! 👍🏻👍🏻 That’s beautiful 🤩🤩
Plastic cracks when it's cold. -10 plus the shockwave from that gel did some damage. -11 here in TC area right now.
sounds like you have to do a 10mm vs. 357magnum! For many the .357 is the do-it-all caliber. You can get it in semi-auto as well, coonan and desert eagle make them in .357 if you dont want to compare the 10mm with a revolver.
I also have the same cat jacket the inner side pocket by the zipper makes a good place for my g19👍
Also makes a good place for my g29 to lol
Works for me! Love my RIA 10mm. Just trying out a new TNW 16" carbine in 10mm. Helluva round
Thanks for some advertising for our EE flour!
Im sure somebody else thats dealt with vinyl siding or plexiglass when its cold has commented but plastic is brittle as hell when its cold. Shingles are the same way. Side note haven't seen anybody do a shingles video......
In South Africa it's known as the 'Wonder Nine'.
That's what the ladies call my junk
@@romak4756 ouch.. Hopefully its more than 9mm 🤣
@@toddlaplanteVT85 really long but really skinny
Awesome video!!
I would choose the Underwood Extrema Penetrator for bear...
would a plywood buffer between the gel block and the table protect the table or make things worse?
For the numbers guys, I just so happen to have shot some Underwood 10mm today as well as some 185 +p 45 ammo and I found the following. All 10mm is from a 5” 1911 and the 45 is from a 4” 1911 from about 5 yards. Averages are from 5 shots.
