    That headlamp and fog lights plus being a FLH is just awesome to watch. Videos for shovel heads are starting to crop up. They seem to be all the rage right now. These older engines are probably indestructible with the new synthetic oils out there. Harley needs to get busy and bring back the old gold.

      @KAPANGAAAMASTER 2 роки тому +1

      You can's use synthetic in such old engines. Plus, if they make this indestructible machines again nowadays, they will be only selling parts, not motorcycles.

      @@KAPANGAAAMASTER Harley has been making Sportsters with Evo engines since the 80s (which are bullet-proof) and they still sell quite well. Also, Amsoil specifically makes a straight 60w synthetic oil that is ideal for older Harley engines (Pan Heads, Knuckle Heads, etc). I use it year round in my 2006 Twin Cam because I live along the Golf coast.

      @@roadking155 I know, my point is about synthetic oil, not it's weight. This motorcycles were meant to use mineral 60W oil, which is thicker, synthetic oil is thinner and does not fill spaces between metals inside the.engine in the same way a thick mineral oil would.

    Today I bought an FLH Elecra Glide 1971, like brand new and 95% original.
    The bike has a very special history: 9/11-2001 the owner removed it from his garage 2 hours before the World Trade Center and his business garage was completely destroyed.
    The reason was that he could feel something wrong.
    I love this beautiful bike and it is very easy to get it 99% original.

    when you killed the engine and then a second later hit the starter button and it instantly fired back up was a very good sign that the engine tune is spot on !!!!! and the starter sounded perfect with the correct size battery cables as there was no "starter drag or lag at all !!!!! you got a cherry Ken as always you don't buy any junk I can afford ....

    I absolutely LOVE the helmet cam. You could learn a lot from SRKCycles/Bikes and Beards UA-cam channel. They have walk around videos and test ride videos before the sell their bikes. Nicely done. I look forward to more.

      Aussie Ken is just lucky finding all his bikes made from unobtainum don't you think? but then he is Kaplan America of mostly unobtainum ....rumor has it that Ken made a deal with the Navi and their resources under home tree on Pandora

    S&S still builds brand new shovelhead engines that make 100hp+ and will cost you over $8k ...a friend put one in his hard tail chopper and its crazy fast ...pulls wheelies in second

    I built my 1St Harley in 1983 ..it was a 1968 FLH shovelhead ..it is still on the road today running on my rebuilt engine. the secret is having the rotating assembly dynamically balanced ... this can be done at the same place in Indy where I had my Harley balanced >>>
