I took a couple heavy washer, ground down a little on 2 sides to get enough rook to slide them inside the race, then they lay flat on the race. The part I didn't grind off now catches the race. Then put your socket thru and you don't have to play that game with trying to catch the edge.
I actually like that idea. I may try it next time. Thanks.
For $20 get the tool made for removing seals, you won't gouge the rim, no heat needed.
$8 @ Harbor Freight 😅
Very informative
Do have pics of how the rear tire goes back on?? Spacers, bolts, etc? Thank you!!!
No, I don’t. I sure it goes on ok. This was a basket case so it’s a guessing game for me. Good luck on yours. Try a service manual. I bought one at a HD dealership for like $45 a couple years ago.
DO NOT PRY on the edge of that cast aluminum wheel ever. I promise you will eventually crack it where the c-clip go's in. I'v done it and I know how easy it is to break it. Don't make the same mistake. It could ruin that wheel.
Thanks. I started putting the cir-clip in to avoid damaging the rim. I agree, I don’t want to crack it.
@@motofun72 Get a seal removal tool for like $5.00. I would really like to see a video of you installing those bearing in the wheel. Please post it. If you have the original hub bearing spacer which you should, I would also like you to show the bearing end play after you put bearings in and put axel in off bike and add a few spacers so you can bolt axel on the wheel and move axel in and out so we can see a manual finished bearing end play. i can not find on your page a video of you putting the new race's in (the easy part).
Indeed I was so proud of my mag wheels until I was going in to take to the dealership and have them replaced but a previous cheap no nothing had broken both sides where the clip stays that aluminum is brittle like a potato chip so sometimes. Saving money cost the whole wheel on front so I have a good back one I can see where you are buggered it up bad im stop watching this vid now
