I just bought one! Super reliable and rugged. Drives pretty smooth with a little engine noise. Very comfortable with a great box shape and classic JEEP grill and headlights. A very reliable vehicle for everyday use and commute. It’s 4 cylinders so maybe not ideal in the power compartment but I’m not a speed demon and need the utility to get to places
I have a 2012 Patriot and I've been wanting to trade in for a fully loaded 2017 High Altitude. I know the Jeep Renegade has all the new bells and whistles, but the Patriot has the classic "Jeep " look which I like.. I think it's a great Small size SUV..I hope Jeep decides to bring the Patriot back..

"Jeep® Patriot: Your best bet for SUV lowest cost of ownership" blog.fcanorthamerica.com/2016/02/19/jeep-patriot-your-best-bet-for-suv-lowest-cost-of-ownership/
I love when I learn something new. I never notice the gas cap latch before. Also, I've watched about 8 of these because I'm having one delivered soon and I'm trying to figure out how to lower the hatch door window but no one every shows that.
I love my PaT. She may not have all the Hp in the world, but she does her job. The auto stick shift capability I love most because it helps getting up steep hills. I drive through the Snoqualmie Pass and it rides like the wind bullseye.....
DONT DO IT! Go Renegade, Or Something Besides This, I took this on a road trip and hated it. You have to push the engine so hard to get it to do anything, it loves the dirt and gravel; but it hates steep grades. When I got in it felt like the cabin was overpressurized and it eventually gave me a headache. The radio/audio is nice, but the older escape's have a better sound setup. The windshield wipers are slow and useless in heavier rain, If you use the rear hatch; you will constantly hit your head on the interior trim. the steering is also a little too tight, it gives you this feeling that if you corner too quickly that understeer is biting at your heels. Overall, A Great City Car But If You Want Something Nice, Get Something Else
i am leaning in to this vehicle, but i have a question.. is FD II is really worth it? i mean, it has CVT and lot of people said that stay away from CVT
I have to turn in my leased 2013 dodge dart this month and I was originally looking to lease a renegade but don't have much to put down to get monthly where I'd like it so I have to now decide between a 2016 patriot high altitude or a 2016 Cherokee latitude and I'm leaning toward the Cherokee cuz the interior is so much better then what's in the Patriot (and I believe the fuel economy is better too)
All the cosmetic gimmicks on this sample, but not the better power train. The one thing that makes a Jeep Patriot a good choice is the well-thought-out 4x4 2.4 liter power train. Nobody buys this 2.0 liter 2-wheel drive version when the 4x4 package minus the sun roof costs about the same. The car he reviewed would have died in the showroom where I live. It's 2020 now and my 2015 Patriot (with the 4x4 2.4 liter option) still runs and looks like new after five NH winters.
I agree with the cup holders on the 2nd row seats gets on the way . made it complicated for my toddler to not step on it..so I changed my mind on getting it , instead I got the rav4 Toyota, and its way better and smoother ride
test drove one of these with then 2.4 with 6 speed when car shopping and it was nice. i just dont know how i feel about so lottle power in an suv. left with a pre owned liberty limited with the 3.7. fuel economy is crap but it has what feels like a lot more power
Question... lf a person were to move the gear ratio higher (to level 1 or 2), will it automatically return to its normal state (D) if a person were to stop?
If u custom make it and add the 2.4 liter and the 6 speed automatic transmission will it give u 4 wheel drive? By the way this would be from the standard model
Quick question, I'm 16 and I'm probably going to get this for my first vehicle. I was wondering, if this would be a practical car for someone my age. Keep in mind, I'll only be using it to get to and from school, work, and maybe a few errands here and there.
I drove this car. The engine is seriously under-powered .The materials inside are hard plastic. It really looks like something from the 80's. One positive is that there is a lot of space inside! The strip down version is a must avoid and one " loaded" like this cost 50% more than the basic one. I'm not sure that navigation is available even if you have that package with the rear camera monitor. This car was intended as a fuel saver and the manufacturer did not know that gas was about to be cheap once again. I would probably go for Subaru Forester - premium version vs this Jeep. With the Subaru you can count on quality- with this Jeep you will always wonder
Really? A lot of space? I have one and is really unconfortable for long trips, 2 at máx can sit at the back. And I can only place 2 cases and nothing else for a trip.
The only thing that really bother me with the Patriot and the Compass is why do they have to put the cup holders right in the middle of the middle seat in the 2nd row??? Pretty dumb design. If you put drink there, someone may accidentally step on it. You basically can only have two passengers in the back, unless you have a small child that can fit the middle seat. Other than that, everything is very decent for the price of those vehicles.
Not a bad truck, but the one thing that I don't like about this vehicle is line of sight that this truck has. The windshield feels a bit small, and the location of the rear view mirror is a bit of a distraction for me. It's not the worst vehicle that I have ever driven, but it wouldn't be my first choice for purchase.
not a bad SUV but I did rent one the other day and for a new rig would come pair to ford escape driving wise not really good child friendly SUV car seat fit in with some trouble had to lift kid up and in no usb ports in this one transmission sounded like it was shifting to slow engine performance in a 2.4 was not bad not a city SUV compared to my 2015 Mitsubishi rvr 2.0 L awc with CVT transmission I would not even look at a jeep or an escape it is 3 times better driving, handling performance and more child friendly and at a cheaper price tag and fuel economy is almost half the price and on like most SUV's you can put in to 2wd auto 4wd or 4 wheel lock at the push of a button
+Orrie Darroch I guess it all depends on what model you get. I have a 2013 Limited Edition 2.4. I have huge car seat for my 1 1/2 son and it fits perfectly and secure. I have the 430 nav radio with a 20GB hard drive, USB and plays DVDs. But what I love the most is the 120v outlet that I underneath the arm rest. You are right about this SUV not being a city one. Gas mileage is just awful.
My 2016 patriot has 60,000 miles on it. Just had to replace the CVT transmission. It is by far the worst transmission ever built. Constantly slipping. Stay away from any vehicle with a CVT trans.
+Brandon Wiggins I have a 2013 Jeep Patriot and I am not a big fan of the CVT Transmission. I had only 58,000 miles on it and had to replace the transmission fluid due to overheating :(. To me I think is comfortable.
I took this on a road trip and hated it. You have to push the engine so hard to get it to do anything, it loves the dirt and gravel; but it hates steep grades. Very poor gas milage Especially for a generic 4 cylinder with a supposedly variable valve timing gas pot and the 4500+ pound curb weight, Amazing how a supposed compact domestic vehicle gets such poor fuel economy & even worse highway miles per gallon, Can simply add that up as stupidly poor Chinese knockoff cheap engineering and Fat curb weight and gutless engine and the cvt doesn't help that much. I'd give this thing a 3 out of ten & purposely pass all day long & end up with something much better like anything Japanese & 4 wheel drive. Period
I know a lot of people that drive them everyday and like them. I guess it depends on the expectations/preferences of the person. The parts manager owned an AWD Patriot and said it was one of the best vehicles he had ever owned and regretted ever trading it in. If a salesperson is telling people what to buy and not to buy then they are putting their own preferences over the customer's. Example: Salesperson makes very little money selling a new Jeep Patriot.
BTW, I do like you reviews on cars, good job. I believe the Patriot and Compass are made in the same factory, same platform. I know the Patriot is being discountinuted and the Compass is getting a re-design
+MikesCarInfo The Patriot has underpowered engines, cheap cabins, small cargo, poor fuel economy, barely any features, horrible ride and handling. No thanks.
+Nolan Fowler Do you own one? Because I do since 2013 Bought it in Afghanistan through a Military program and I just love it. I drove from Alaska all the way down to California no issues, smooth ride and super comfortable (Winter Time). The only part that it really sucks is gas mileage :(
I just rented one of these for my ski trip to New Mexico. Easily the worst piece of junk I've ever driven. I grew up in the gas starved 70's and know what crap is. My aunt's about to get a 2017 Jeep Patriot. I'm so excited because I love Jeeps!!
I just bought a 2017 Jeep Compass High Altitude...I love it...worked great in the snow storm also

I actually just bought my 2016 Jeep Patriot!!!
me too!
tulllguy I love mine!
How do you like it? Is it roomy?
I’m looking to trade in my 17 Crosstrek for a 16’ Patriot.
Me too!!!
How did that Jeep patriot treat you? Did you have lots of issues?
I just purchased a 2014 Freedom Edition and I love it!!
Just purchased a 2017 patriot 4wd it's not very fancy but a lot of bang for the buck
I am most likely buying a 2016 Jeep Patriot as my first car bought by myself
did you end up getting it and if so did you like it?
Woow the best review I've ever seen, I'm about to buy one and this helped allot on my decision.
Thank you.

My dad has a charger scat pack and when he can't drive in the rain or snow he uses this. It's actually decent!
Awesome! l love how you went into complete detail about everything in the vehicle. l even learned about using the Drive -/+ lol thanks 👍
I kinda wish JEEP would put the pentastar V6 in the Jeep Patriot that would be lovely
Not a huge fan of these, but this one has some sweet rims and it wears that red nicely.
Great video!
Very great showing. Thanks!
Good job, Mike! Sent someone your video and they're going to buy this vehicle because of your video! Thank you so much, you have no idea.

Do all Patriot have the sun roof, or just high altitude
