This recipe is nothing like what a fried fish item looks like in "Dhaka". I initially thought it would be Ilish fish fry ( Hilsha). More often than not, fried fish in Dhaka is not made with boneless fish. It is marinated in spices mix rather than the westernized frying batter shown here. Also, it is usually part of the main dish as opposed to being served as starters. But thank you anyway for sharing.
Of course it's really hard for Bengalis to say nice words 😔 He is showing such an amazing recipe and most Bengalis are busy with "none in Dhaka cooks like that" 😅 I followed your channel for a long time and was really surprised to see my country's name. Please ignore the rude comments from some of the people from Bangladesh. 😊 Bangladeshis like fish and they like fried stuff so thanks for the recipe ❤️😊
My father's side is from sylhet Bangladesh. I have seen him frying like this . Thanks for supporting Varun on this. Some ppl can't say good anyways no matter what you do.
with due respect, I guess this isn't the actual way of dhakaiya people do the fish-fry. Anyways, You should try Indian Bengali style Bhetki Fish fry , bhetki paturi(steamed) .

As a Bangladeshi I think I should be offended.. cause I have never seen fish fried like this in anywhere in Dhaka.. not only Dhaka.. no one in Bangladesh fries fish like this in any household or traditional restaurant.. this is so misinformed and misconceptional.. we Bangladesh like our fish fried with skin on and bones inside and coated with traditional spices not with vinegar, egg or flour... come on chef.. I expected a lot better from you...

In Kolkata, we use Bhetki fish for fish fry and fish finger.

You could say that is not the traditional fish fry but fish pakora
