@@HowTasty Ciao di Nuovo, I love this time of year. We did just have a cold week but it's over. Planting season starts and all the farm land comes back to life. Mostly corn and soy beans around here, it's all green and nicer than the baron fields after winter. I'm not so crazy about the fertilizing part, not so pleasant but only 2 weeks a year spring and fall. The orchards are budding with apples, peaches and pears 🍎🍐🍑 😊. I just grow some herbs in my apartment window usually Basil, Tarragon and Parsley. I hope your garden gives you great bounty. Buona Sera Mio Amica, Ciao 🌃🌷🌷🌷

Can't believe this cake is eggless! 😍Love the texture and it looks so delicious too. Can I just use buttermilk instead of using milk & vinegar? Also I don't have a 12x15 inch pan, so could I use a 9x13 pan or 2- 8inch pans?

Hi Amrita and welcome to my channel! I'm sorry for my late reply. I'm afraid that 9x13 inch cake pan is too small for this batter amount, you can try to reduce the ingredients and use 2/3 of the amount for each ingredient. Let me know! much love

Thank you for your recipe but when I tried making it I put 360 g of oil in the batter just as the recipe on the website mentioned and unfortunately it was too much. To anyone who is going to make this cake, please make sure you don’t put that much oil since it will ruin the cake.
Edit: I just checked in the video and it states 160g of oil so on the website the recipe has a typo and it ruined my cake.
    INGREDIENTS
This is the recipe on the website:
    Eggless Sponge Cake
300 ml (1+1/4 cup) milk room temperature
18 g (1+1/4 tbsp) white vinegar or any vinegar or lemon juice
    260 g (2 cups+2 tbsp) all purpose flour
50 g (5 tbsp) cornstarch you can substitute it with all purpose flour
    10 g (2+1/4 tsp) baking powder
    4 g (1/2 tsp) baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    225 g (1 cup) sugar
1+1/2 tsp vanilla paste or extract
    360 g (3/4 cup) vegetable oil
    Filling
600 ml (2+1/2 cups) heavy cream or long-life whipping cream chilled
65 g (1/2 cup) vanilla powdered sugar or simple powdered sugar+2tsp vanilla extract
about 700 g (1,5 pound) fresh strawberries washed and well dried

Hi Kavya and welcome to my channel! Thank you so much for your message, I'm so sorry....you're right, I've just checked the written recipe on my website and I did a typo with the oil; the right amount is 160g as I've written in the recipe video. I've corrected now the recipe on the website, thank you so much for you precious message....thanks to your message, you've saved many cakes!! I'm so sorry for your cake :( I work alone to this channel and this is a classical typo made because of fatigue. Thank you so much and sorry again. I am following the exact recipe.
The batter froths up as soon as I mix wet with dry ingredients.
What mist be happening wrong ? Why is it tasting bitter. ?

    1 + 1/4 cup milk
    1 + 1/4 tbsp vinegar
~mix and let ir rest for 10 mins~
    Meanwhile...
In a separate dish with a sieve
    2 cups + 2tbsp all purpose flour
    5tbsp cornstarch
    2 + 1/4 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 cup sugar
    Sift and mix
Then, add 3/4 cup vegetable oil to the milk and vinegar mixture and mix. (Let's call this Mixture 1)
Gradually add 'Mixture 1' to the dry ingredients you mixed above, while stirring the solution.
Once done, add 1 + 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or paste to your batter and mix.
Then, grease a 30 x 38 cm or 12 x 15 inch baking tray with vegetable oil. Afterwards, lay a baking sheet and coat with oil once more. Next, pour the batter into your greased tray, tap it to get rid of air bubbles and bake it in a preheated oven at 180°C or 350°F for 15 minutes.
Once the cake has baked, insert a toothpick and pull it out to see if it has baked or not. If it has, then place it outside of the oven and let it cool down slightly. Take it out of the tray and then let it cool down completely.
Cut 500 grams (1 pound) of strawberries in half and lay them on paper towels. Divide the cake into 2 equal rectangles.
In another bowl, add 2 + 1/2 cups of chilled heavy cream or long-lasting whipping cream. Use a hand mixer to beat it. Then add 1/2 a cup of powdered sugar and mix. Put a bit of whipped of this icing on one of the rectangle slices and spread it. Then, lay some of the strawberries on them and put another layer of icing on it. Put the other rectangle cake slice on it and another layer of icing on top. Refridgerate the cake for at least 4 hours and decorate the cake with remaining icing and strawberries.
    Lastly, enjoy!
I hope this helped you! ❤️✨🍀
    Ingredients list:
    1 + 1/4 cup milk
