My wife's favorite is a REAL strawberry shortcake. She does most of the baking while I do all of the cooking almost exclusively your recipes. Im going to surprise her tonight because🎉 41 years together and I still love cooking/ baking for her. Thanks, Chef!
"I makes mistakes so you guys don't do it!" 😂I LOVE Chef Jean Pierre! I could watch him all day and he makes it all look SO easy. His reaction when he tastes his own food at the end never fails to put a smile on my face!
Very few things in life is better than hearing "Well hello there friends". And a Sunday upload...Woohoo! I've been wanting a good strawberry sauce. I cannot wait to try. Thank you Chef!
As always you have just the perfect dish for the setting! Going to take this to our family 4th July party! I cannot wait to hear all the comments and ooohs and aaaahs this will receive!
Dang! That looks wonderful! [EDIT] My wife and I "invested" in a Kitchen-Aid (Hobart) mixer back when they were $300 in the early 1980's (when that was a chunk of change.) It remains what I consider the best investment in cooking utensils that we ever made. It has made more cookies, bread, cheesecakes, whipped cream, and other things I can't remember. But I bought a newer one for my daughter a couple of years ago, and the ones made overseas are not even comparable to the ones made back then in the USA.
If you bought a kitchenaid stand mixer that’s from overseas you bought a knock off. They’re made 2 miles from where I live in Ohio. In fact I can see their windmills from my house, and my sister is a group leader at the factory where literally every stand mixer in the world is made.
@@wendyaultman3252 Ours was purchased circa 1984, and sports both the "KitchenAid" and "Hobart" brands. Indeed, it was manufactured in Ohio. I bought one for my daughter for Christmas a few years ago, and though it functions, it is a piece of Chinesium junk compared to the American made one.
I'm probably the same age as Jean-Pierre, and have been a cooking enthusiast since childhood. In the last 20 years or so, I have been most impressed by the French techniques. Being good is simply not good enough. Strive for the spectacular, as does our favorite chef, Jean-Pierre. Life is too precious to do otherwise. Merci, mon ami.
I adore strawberry shortcake. I live for it once spring begins. Can’t wait for the berries to begin! Our garden is rife with rows and rows of 3 strawberry varieties, 3 raspberry varieties, which are allll ripening now daily, I’m in my kitchen delicately washing and (eating) and freezing quarts of them this week, freezing them on sheet pans like little rocks, then bagging them for future desserts or jam or syrup. My blueberries are overwhelming LOL we have too many bushes, but neighbors enjoy them, and blackberries grow wild on our land so they’re everywhere (bears love them..) and marionberries, salmon berries - and our veg garden is completely stunted this time around the sun! Ugh! No idea what’s happening there, but the fruit trees all look pretty darn great so far. But the berries are my great love. ❤️ Berries are so easy to grow. You really do next to nothing except try to keep wildlife out. Having a freezer half filled with freshly picked berries is a fortunate thing! Our strawberry season is ending now, only getting a few now each day as they die back and the other berries say hello, but a second short season bumper crop should come back in maybe 4-6 weeks. I love them best of all, and will use your methods here. I.normally do a more sweetened buttermilk, sugar dusted scone type of shortcake, but your chiffon is how my mother made it. ❤️😊👍 I love them both. Enjoy those little treasures!
Learned lots of tricks today! Gelatin instead of pectin for the jam, using the can to push the shortcake out of the mold, and if you want, using condensed milk instead of sugar in your whipped cream. Great video!
J'ai liké sans même regarder la vidéo.. Rien que de voir l'introduction j'ai adoré.. J'adore les tartelettes à la fraise 🍓🍓😋😋😋. Merci pour la recette. Je vais épater avec cette superbe recette. Merci 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hello new friend. 🔔🔔Wow this looks so delicious. I’d love to have this in the morning afternoon or dinner anytime of the day I’ll take it. Thank you for such a yummy and refreshing dessert recipe. Enjoy your family and God bless.🙏🔔💕😋🌏
My 6 yr old daughter with ADHD sat and watched this all the way through. Thank you for inspiring her. Fyi she's never sat so quietly she even shushed me so she could hear everything you said.
Chef, thanks for the BONUS (unscheduled) video. Enjoy the 4th of July Holiday. I wet the knife for smoother cut on almost any cake. I have the berries from roadside market now need to get cake. Support your local farmers. Take Care
Hello Chef, I'm from Australia and I just wanted to tell you that I cooked your Tuscan chicken last night and it was a big hit at my house, everyone was raving about it..Thank you so much..Your a sweetheart..I'm going to make this or try at least making Strawberry short cakes..Bon Appetit..Thanks
Good morning Chef J-P, this is a lovely version of the famous Strawberry Shortcake. I prefer the soaked sponge and all the wonderful flavours of strawberries and cream. I myself do not enjoy a dry cake texture it is a bad as a soggy chocolate cake ;(. A little bit of extra work in assembling but so worth it. Thank you for sharing this beautiful presentation, it is so worth it. Happy 4th July hope you have a great day. Kind regards.
I always love your recipes and the fact that you share your time with all of us! I would like to tell everyone to please don't respond to anyone that sent you a message with a phone number! It's not the Chef!
God Bless America, indeed. And God bless Chef Jean-Pierre! A perfect recipe and a perfect dessert for the upcoming Independence Day holiday. Thanks, Chef!
Looks excellent Chef. But, the big story for me was finally making clarified butter - Game Changer! That stuff is brilliant. I also took the separated milk whey and mixed it with olive oil, garlic and basil. It's like olive-oil-butter :-). Thanks for pushing the clarified butter. Happy 4th!
as soon as he started zesting the lemon I was anticipating hearing about the "dingdongs" who use the microplane grater incorrectly 😂 I was not disappointed
Great video as always chef. And jack too!! Do you guys shoot in a restaurant? I remember earlier videos looked like it was filmed in a restaurant kitchen. Just curious.
Any tips for substituting pectin instead of gelatin? I strangely couldn’t find any gelatin in stores this weekend, but I have pectin and am going to try and substitute in the jam!
Hi chef, I have a question. How does bakery have this glossy clear code outside their fruits? They are this soft code. It seems made the fruit won’t run out the juice overtime. What do they use?
Bonjour. Je me demandais, on vous voit souvent vous laver les mains avec un torchon dans un seau ou une bassine dans votre évier. Qu'y a t-il dans ce seau ? Car vous vous en servez également pour essuyer vos couteaux ou votre planche à découper. Merci. Good morning. I was wondering, we often see you washing your hands with a dishcloth in a bucket or a basin in your sink. What's in that bucket? Because you also use it to wipe your knives or cutting board. THANKS.
One Gallon of water and 3 tablespoons white vinegar OR one Gallon of water and 1 tablespoon of bleach but NEVER the two together as the bleach reacts with the acid in vinegar and could produce a very toxic chlorine gas. Dish soap can always be used as well! 😊
‘It gives your sour cream a little more body’ Jack, Chef was using heavy whipping cream not sour cream. 😅😅😂😂 Chef JP tell your producer not to rush you then your brain can be at the same speed as you speak. 😂😂 LOL Great recipe for the holiday weekend!!!
I’m going to make these for dessert tomorrow. I’m also going to make your pork tenderloin and fondant potatoes with green beans and glazed carrots. Wish me luck chef. 🤞🤣👍
Good morning Chef and Jack. This looks amazing but I know it will taste great. I made your limoncello trifle many times and this dessert will be making a debut in my kitchen today as well! Another great video and keep them coming! I really do appreciate ALL your (and Jack) hard work. BTW, I bought your sunshine cuisine cookbook three months ago and lovin’ it! You are an amazing teacher!! THANK YOU so very much for helping me become a better cook and putting a smile on my face each day 🤗♥️. My family appreciate and love you too!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Followed the recipe and instructions BUT made a delicious blueberry shortcake without the limoncello. I did use Florida natural lemonade to make the simple syrup instead of water. I also used a single spring form pan, as I didn't have the individual forms, delicious and presented well! I will try the strawberry shortcake next time with the limoncello! FYI, it's blueberry season here ...
Chef! I don't eat sweets that often, but now I can't wait to make this! Limoncello is brilliant in strawberries. I can literally taste this right now. Perfect for the 4th of July! Thanks Chef!

Hi chef, I have a question. How does bakery have this glossy clear code outside their fruits? They are this soft code. It seems made the fruit won’t run out the juice overtime. What do they use?
Most commercial bakery use an already made fruit glaze. The best way to do it at home is to melt very slowly an apricot jam and brush on your fruits!😊
Dear Chef Pierre, do u have a lemon meringue recipe, cake or pie? Or maybe a lemon meringue baked Alaska?
