John Williams - Anakin's Betrayal (Star Wars Soundtrack) [HQ]

- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is the film score to the 2005 film of the same name released by Sony Classical on May 3, 2005, more than two weeks before the film's release. The music was composed and conducted by John Williams, and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices. Williams also composed and conducted the scores for the saga's other five films. Shawn Murphy recorded the score. Ramiro Belgardt and Kenneth Wannberg served as music editors. Thus, Kenneth Wannberg served as music editor for all six Star Wars scores.
A music video titled A Hero Falls was created for the film's theme, "Battle of the Heroes", featuring footage from the film. In the U.K., "Battle of the Heroes" was released as a CD-single and reached No. 25 in the UK Singles Chart in June 2005.
The soundtrack also came with a collectors' DVD, Star Wars: A Musical Journey, that features 16 music videos set to remastered selections of music from all six film scores, set chronologically through the saga.
This album was chosen as one of Amazon.com's Top 100 Editor's Picks of 2005.

"Have you heard of the tradegy of Anakin Skywalker, The Chosen One?"
Yes... Its a very depressing tragedy
It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. Anakin Skywalker was a Jedi Knight of the Old Republic. He was powerful, and even had the power to defeat the Force beings of Mortis. He feared only losing those he loved, which eventually, of course, he did. In a vain attempt to save his wife, he turned to the dark side, and destroyed the Jedi Order. Only his son could save him in the end. Ironic. He could save others from darkness, but not himself.

@@Amonieyt It's because of that desire it makes the fall more heartbreaking.
He was a great friend, an excellent if not chaotic strategist, and a brilliant person in general.
But he remained a slave to his emotions. Alongside that, every turn that something good was on the horizon for him, it was almost always taken away or overshadowed by something much worse.
Anakin is the type of character alot of people can relate too for this reason. Shamed for that which he could not control, forced in silence for love and punished for being an outsider. Feeling seperate from the order he was connected to, a cultist of ancient origin peered out from the shadows and gave him all that he desired, emotional reinforcement, compassion and understanding. And the shadowy eyes saw that he wanted this more than anything, he wanted validation.
He promised him that and much more, and alongside that he made every unfortunate event related to the Jedi's failings, whether it was justified or not.
This is a tale of a broken and late stage social and governmental system, that has fundamental flaws. Paired with a predatory cult group that sees those the late stage system has exiled as exploitable assets. Anakin was this exploitable asset.
The Jedi failed Anakin.
The Sith used Anakin.
Anakin certainly was dealt a poor hand, and it's certainly easy for us to say he could have avoided this had he thought it through.
But repressing emotions on the scale he did, for the amount of time he did would no doubt lead to clouded judgment.
The Prequels were not wanted by the generation that got the Originals. But the Prequels are needed by the generation that received them.
Those who are emotionally unstable will be unseen by the average person, but will be noticed by those who seek to exploit them. That is the warning the prequels tell.

Can you feel Anakin's pain in this film? He never got over his pain from the losses he had in life. It was never accepted by the Jedi, only by Obin Wan and partly Master Yoda. He found solace in Padme's love. Maybe Anakin never wanted to be a Jedi, but he did it to protect the people he loved and maybe save them, but his deepest desire was always to have the family he never had and for this reason he was easily corrupted by Palpatine who knew how to manipulate him. I was only able to feel sadness and agony in Anakin's life.
"Maybe Anakin never wanted to be a Jedi, but he did it to protect the people he loved and maybe save them"
Little did he know, the fine print forbids personal attachment. And the Jedi *still* haven't figured out why they keep getting betrayed by one of their own, and exterminated.
Anakin's life was full sadness and pain and fear and loneliness, but also full of hope, love and dreams. He has the entire human experience in a way.
It's easy to manipulate someone whose desperate, Anakin was desperate to save Padme, and desperate to end the war, Palpatine's manipulation would be really easy for someone with a stable mind to notice, but Anakin was not stable minded whatsoever, I believe that he's blocking out some things and listening to others, and that's entirely possible with how much he's contemplating about.
This is the saddest Star Wars movie
He slaughtered innocent children, if this happens in our lifetime he wouldn’t be given sympathy because of a sad childhood. I like Anakin a lot but why do people seem to only sympathise with him the crazy power hungry muderer.
What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen and what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight back to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word.

And so the hero becomes the villain. The saviour becomes the apocalypse. He cared not for the actions that he took all he cared about was her and keeping her alive. Star Wars isn't only a saga, it's a myth. And it wouldn't be without its iconic musical themes.
Thank you John Williams.
3:16 the epitome of this track, with the jedi temple burning on Coruscant, signifying the final breaths of the jedi as was known. Most of them killed or lost to the galaxy, their structures and history wiped from existence.
"And if they could be tricked, they could be killed."
Mr. Dystopian underrated comment. I’d play with you anytime, a fucking classic

When the 501st was finally rotated out of Felucia, Aylaa Secura made a point of seeing us off personally, calling us "the bravest soldiers she'd ever seen." It's a good thing we were wearing helmets. Cause none of us could bear to look her in the eye.

John Williams has the amazing ability to let the listener "feel" what is happening without actually seeing it. You can listen to episode 3 soundtrack and know what's going on by the soundtrack.
I listen to this while reflecting on the horrible things the toxic people of the Star Wars fanbase has done.
The Star Wars Fanbase has so far:
- Literally destroyed Jake Lloyd's entire life
- Ahmed Best attempted suicide after being attacked and harassed by fans and media alike.
- Drove George Lucas completely away from Star Wars and filmmaking in general.
- Harassed Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran off of social media.
- Rian Johnson has had months of scorn and abuse on social media because of what he did with The Last Jedi.
- After 1 evening of interactions with the fandom have made Christopher McQuarrie never want to make a Star Wars film or MOS 2.
This is just a few. It's a toxic subset of fans but fans none the less who are being the most vocal.
Annie - that’s mostly because Disney acquired Star Wars and fed the toxicity. Disney in general loves to destroy a franchise by milking it dry. But yeah I’ll never forgive the fan base for what they did to George. But yeah the last Jedi was a terrible film. But most fan bases tend to destroy the living shit out of someone if they fuck up a movie. Take Godzilla 2000 as an example- movie was so bad and got so much hate. You just can’t predict the outcome. People hated the prequels now we miss them
True
@@Rubber_Monkey Oh shut up with your toxic shit and quit believing the bullshit, Kelly Marie Tran wasn't harassed off social media, she just left it. Besides Rian deserved everything he got.

"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word." - 501st Journal
3:05 and is so heartbreaking. the poor few jedi left in the temple, many of them young, being slaughtered by the clones. I remember that scene from ROTS inside of the temple with this music playing with it. Also 3:17 is just depressing good. It’s out of this world. I cannot describe the feelings it give me
The prequel trilogy had by far the best soundtrack of any trilogy ever. Duel of the Fates, Battle of the Heroes, Anakin's betrayal, Across the Stars. Just beautiful music
superb music indeed but i think the original trilogy has the most recognizable and unforgettable themes

I disagree, the music is ok in the sequels but the music in the prequels almost singlehandedly made the films good. I would say it's one of the best movie soundtracks out there.
George could afford better orchestras after the money he made on the OT. also, the prequel trilogy was supposed to be a dramatic, epic saga that told of the fall of the greatest legacy ever to exist.
It amazes me when people say this movie was trash no it wasnt it was the best out of the prequels for both having foreshadowing and just a great soundtrack
This movie is the best out of the whole Star Wars saga
This is my favorite movie of the entire franchise. My second is the empire strikes back.
@@Jacob-vr6we i disagree, but this one was up there

If someone was ever told me about an trash Star Wars movie, l would think about Phantom Manace or the recent movies. But calling *this* an trash movie is begging to be slapped.
they way Yoda grabs at his heart in ROTS as he drops his cane from feeling all the death of his fellow Jedi and friends. is how this piece makes me feel. its so heavy to hear as if you know what's happening and not knowing anything of the film
How the hell can people seriously hate prequels, when they had such a deep and tragic story of Anakin's fall to the dark side in them. In my opinion, it's one of the best things that happened not only to the Star Wars franchise, but to the whole cinematography. Lucas gave us one of the best written and compassionable villain stories of all time. He has to be given a huge amount of respect at least for this.
Most of them where about politics that shouldn't really be a star wars thing I say
@@joshsunderland8896 you don't get to decide what should and should not be a star wars thing.
Because most people are uneducated in arts. They just can't understand this greatness. When you never been in a theater or in the opera in your whole life, or you have no idea about the classics (greek tragedy etc) you can't understand nothing about the acting, the Climax, the direction and all the other elements that Lucas put in these masterpieces. I feel sorry for them.. Really..
Watching the prequels is like looking at art, we all have different point of views about it.
Fr
No matter what anyone says, the prequels are much better than the sequels. This beautiful music alone makes you feel more emotion then the sequels did. The only thing I feel when watching the sequels is anger
No need to say it. It's the universal truth. Hell Revenge of the Sith is on an entirely different level compared to the rest of Star Wars.
Aces of Athens agreed, it’s an masterpiece. I just want to go back as a kid watching this movie over and over in my living room with my snacks.. ;(
I agree I don’t know why everyone like the originals better, while I can understand that theres no beating the first time Vader walked into our lives, revenge of this Sith is just on a whole different level
true though Anakin's Betrayal and Duel Of The Fates hits the feels
Wrong. There is no anger, there is only peace
This. This is why John Williams is going to go down with the classic composers in history.
He already has, he has the most academy awards out of anybody in history other than Walt Disney.

😢 starwars taught me one thing be careful of who you trust
Cried the first time as he gave the high five cuz I knew what would happen
What's sad is that members of the 501st actually tried to tell the truth of contingency order 66, but were either ignored/kidnapped/killed before it got out.
Anakin lied to and given a false truth to save his only love who was destined to die; seeing this to happen even after his mother being killed by Tuskin raiders was aligning him to the dark side. You can hear his former master shouting for him to stop as his anger and rage flowed through him killing off entire tribes of raiders; following their women and children too. Leading on to killing off entire generations of Jedi and the only mentor and fight the only brother he ever had-Obi Wan.
To put it simply..The Star Wars movies will forever be an amazing and unmatched with the story telling and characters we got to see develop over a series of sequels and prequels. Thank you George Lucas for the memories I'll never forget.

John Williams made a soundtrack that invokes deep nostalgia, and the emotions or whatever scenes its played over, anytime you hear it. Any song, whether it was noticeable or not, you remember. You hear indescribable melodies and harmonies like these, and they just break you. John Williams took a work of wonder and made it a testament of musicality and sustainability.
Betrayal- That day, a master was betrayed by his brother, a wife was betrayed by her husband, a knight, betrayed by himself, and thousands of jedi betrayed by troops who had fought by them through all trials of the galaxy.
That night, the sky was truly dark, for there was no hope in the hearts of even the most hopeful- only betrayal, the proof of which could be seen in all parts of the galaxy, with bodies of the indestructible jedi scatter across the ground.
When the moment came, no one seemed to shudder from destroying every friendship, every bond that years of trust and understanding had forged. But one might think- was it truly so? Are love and trust such fragile things that they might be broken on the order and command of a heartless? No, this went much deeper. The jedi- with despair and pain in their eyes upon seeing friends become foes in the briefest of moments- fell to the ground, shot by those very same allies. But behind the seeming villainy of the clones, raged the undying loyalty for those they served- and loved. But alas- it was a fateful night. And no goodwill could prevent the murky event that threatened the very existance of hope.
For once, perhaps, one could say- there was hope. But that night, who could have known? There was only darkness. That night, even the stars were afraid to shine their light on the lost souls.
Just a little writeup to go with the music...hope you enjoy it :)
I think John Williams’ prequel soundtrack is the best one he’s produced
From dual of the fates to anakin’s betrayal, he may have some classics in the OGT but his best works were definitely PT scores
The prequel music is widely known to be some of the best in cinema history.
