*_This painting is really tragic. Kenobi's facial expression is saying "What went wrong? What have I done? Forgive me." and Anakin is saying the same._*
I can feel Kenobi: training your apprentice, he was said to be the chosen one, and he betrayes you and kills almost everyone you loved, the most important, his heart. The end of ROTS just makes me tear up all the time, especially after you watch The Clone Wars, they were such good partners, and in just a few hours, they became enemies.
Yup. All the failures crashing down. The order's, his failure as a mentor/friend, Anakin's failure at saving his mom, Padme and a jedi master. Just to name a few. Ugh!
Obi-wan not holding a grudge, with maul after maul killed obi-wan's master, makes it all the more sad. They suddenly see the same side, but as it's too late for maul. Damn Star Wars can get VERY sad :,(
@@burlyolive002 I've been limiting myself to half hour increments of RotS after every new Siege of Mandalore episode. It really gives a *lot* more emotional context to the movie. I'm not crying, you're crying. You are strong *sob* and wise, and I *sob* am very *sob* proud of *you*. *YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE! IT WAS SAID YOU WOULD DESTROY THE SITH, NOT JON THEM!* _curls up in corner, sobbing unabashedly_
@@burlyolive002 I'm assuming you've watched ROTS already but if you somehow haven't, SPOILERS. After the second episode? I'd say probably somewhere along the lines of Palpatine giving Anakin the "Darth Plageus the Wise" lecture
Midwest Madman actually, we’re lead to believe that it goes simultaneously with the attempted arrest of Palpatine, and that Maul is captured at the exact moments that anakin is pledging himself to the dark side
The painting is haunting in a way. As Kenobi cradles Anakin you can feel the pain behind Anakin's eyes. So much rage all compacted into one person. His fear completely consumed him until it led to his inevitable destruction. Kenobi stares aimlessly through his brother in disbelief of how it all came to this. In just a few hours, brothers became enemies
To me, anakins eyes convey a deep surprise that after everything he did, obi wan was still willing to help him. He was actually crying on mustafar before the fight because he couldn’t believe what he had done and his master is showing him compassion when he believes he deserves none
Actually..took anakin 9 months to accept the dark side..he gets to coruscant when padme just learns her pregnancy..9 months later order 66 happens..rigth at the end
The saddest part with this art piece is that it looks like they’re both not ready for the future, what it was about to unfold, for both of them. They look scared, like Anakin had no idea he was going to turn from a human to a robotic monster incapable of love. And Obi Wan sad seeing how he failed Anakin and is totally lost. This art mixed with the music is perfect.
@@murat8210 He was slave to neither the force nor the Jedi order, he was saved by acting like a Jedi. Also you forgot he was a slave to a blue elephant/fly hybrid XD
You're description of the picture breaks my heart, as the music runs and i read it and look at it again. Reminds me of how I feel everytime i see the Great Jedi Purge. Insightful, I commend that.
Revenge of the sith is the brightest gem of the saga along with Empire Strikes Back at literally everything. There is nothing anyone can say that could possibly change my mind.
I feel bad for obi wan, He lost everything he loved, Satine, Qui gon, Anakin. But he still seems to be brave and survive, He’s always so cunning and always stays positive in every situation that could probably affect his life, That’s what makes him one of the best Characters in Star Wars.
NEVER GIVE IN NEVER SURRENDER TILL THE BITTER END YOU FIGHT! OUR PATH IS A LONELY ONE FEW HAVE THE COURAGE TO ENDURE. THE PERSONAL SACRIFICE OF BEING AWAY FROM FAMILY LOSING FRIENDS AND EVEN LOSING YOURSELF ..... NEVER BOW TO TYRANY OR EVIL
Anakin was probably worse. He grew up a slave, worked tremendously to get into a high place yet was still a slave to the jedi and the sith, but he loses everything.
Incase you didn’t know In A Deleted Scene Anakin was actually going to say “save me” to Obi Wan and beg for his former master to save him from death. Obi Wan would then look at his corrupted apprentice and deny him, leaving him to die instead. This is when Anakin’s eyes go fully yellow and he is filled with rage and resentment.
Chris Paez it would of made his transformation into Vader feel more of Obi-Wans fault and make us sympathize with Vader even more. I wish it stayed in as well.
Fun fact is that you can actually see him say save me while rolling down to the river while trying to stick his hand out for Obi Wan, but instead Lucas cut it out and had Anakin groan in pain. Another fun fact is that Obi Wan would reply to Anakin's request by saying "Anakin, I love you.. But I cannot save you." And thus why I love the Prequel stories.
A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. Now the Jedi are all but extinct. Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force....
Actally Attack Of The Clones is a little more important cause without it, Anakin won’t Fall In love with Padme and He won’t turn to the Dark side, cause his mother Would still be alive
It still is crazy how this little boy ended up being the most feared sith in the galaxy 😢”Promise me you will train the boy, he will bring balance, train him”
In the end vader was just a child who wanted to be noticed and when the jedi denied him the rank of master that's what realy sent him down the path of darkness but in the end he did bring balance to the force and left the darkness
The artist who made this gave anakin the most pain filled Sith eyes I’ve ever seen..it really gives yodas quote on “love leading to suffering” so much weight.
love does not lead to suffering, fear does, and fear of what will happen to the people we love: "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering"
I honestly love Anakin, like he has his flaws and all, but was such a strong and loyal person. Willing do sacrifice anything to save others, like willing to go to the dark side just to save his wife. Though that was very naive of him, he did it because he cared so much. Anakin was selfless almost all the time and that made him better and more likeable than so many other characters. RIP Anakin Skywalker, Ani, Skyboy, and Darth Vader. Many names, 1 body, 2 lives.
EyeAr WeeTawTed What i love about the clone wars is that it makes it more believable that he turned to the dark side. Throughout the course of the Clone Wars he grew more and more tired with the attitude of the jedi and the seemingly unending war. Little things built up over time, small bursts of aggressive here and there. So when Palpatine offered him a chance to end the war and all the suffering that came with it, he took it
Anakin was hardly selfless. His love for people like Ahsoka and Padme was selfish. He wanted them, he claimed to need them, and couldn't bear to see them go. He was barely able to let Ahsoka go but killed so many to keep Padme. In the end, he cared more about his own want for Padme than Padme herself, when he choked her. This is the difference between him and Kenobi. Obi-Wan let Satine go, he wanted to be with her but knew he couldn't and accepted it, he put his love for her aside for the Jedi Order, whereas Anakin couldn't. Obi-Wan didn't go on a murderous rampage while Maul was threatening to kill Satine, nor did he go on a murderous rampage afterward, he instead cradled Satine's dead body, mourning his lost love.
@@youstertv I have watched it. Excellent editing, though I can't quite figure out where you were going with it (what I mean by that is, I can't tell anything storyline-wise from it). I wouldn’t doubt it either. Palpatine knew how to burrow into Anakin’s head...he manipulated Anakin and it costed him everything he held dearly. His wife, his brother figure Obi-Wan, almost his unborn children Luke and Leia, and almost his life
this exchange in the game really gave me the feels. Vader is a broken man who has lost everything. Vader is the definition of a man with no path to walk on. Everytime i listen to these songs from the movies it really makes me feel how lost and broken he is, its tragic. We love you Anakin
"Kanan said he was the greatest warrior the Jedi had in the Clone Wars." "He was powerful, rarely lost a battle. What would've surprised people is how kind he was. He cared deeply about his friends, and looked out for them until the end..." The Hologram flickered as the training Holo of Anakin Skywalker ended. "Do you know what happened to him?" "The last time I saw him, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor, then everything changed."
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st was discretely transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do."
"Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
Anakin Skywalker. The man who started out with just his mother. The man who had a dark past and soon to be even darker future. The man who fought in the clone wars and treated his soldiers with kindness and compassion. The man his brother thought he had lost. The chosen one whether he liked it or not. The man who had the biggest heart in all of the galaxy twisted cause of blindness and corruption on both sides. The man who was both a Jedi and Sith and suffered for both. The man who thought he lost everything his mother his sister and brother (Ashoka and Obi-wan) his wife. The man turned to machine. The man everyone who knew him thought he was lost forever until his son saw the good in a man who was full of hate and anger. The man who's boy freed him from being a slave. The man who brought balance to the force. That man was Anakin Skywalker and Star Wars is his story.
@Hakuna Matata the prophecy was that he would bring BALANCE to the force, not that he would destroy the sith. And he actually did. He leveled the playfield first, true but that is necessary for true balance.
@@jackgodfrey3862 I imagine that that is also the point. Betrayal hurts so much because of the fact that it is, of course, an ally, friend, or family member choosing to stab you in the back and destroy everything the two parties had wrought in the time they knew each other.
01:33 Obi Wan Kenobi: "Anakin is the father, isnt he?" Padme: *looks down* Obi Wan Kenobi: "Im so sorry." Brings tears to my eyes and sends shivers up my spine.

"Vader is actually a pathetic character" George Lucas, This doesn't mean Vader is weak or wimpy. It means he is broken. Unlike most broken men tho he became cold and wanted the Galaxy to suffer as he had. This was a boy who lost everything, he escaped slavery only to become enslaved by an even crueler master, one who kept him in a limiting half coffin half life support husk. Behind that mask is anger and pain and only the attempted self sacrifice by Luke showed Vader something he hadn't felt since his beloved mother and Padme died....love. Vader couldn't be turned by Obi Wan because Obi wan wanted to defeat Vader, Luke wanted to die for him, and Vader had had enough of his family dying. Vader had to be the father he never had. "In that moment Anakin has to be willing to forgive those who failed him, and himself, life isn't fair, he will never have a happy ending. He loves as a machine, or will die as a man. He won't ever be a parent, just a memory to his son and a monster to his daughter. But he decides to be that good, to be that father for his own children even if it is too little too late and he'll face whatever comes next. "I will be able to stop people from dying" mission accomplished Master Skywalker
I watched an interview with George Lucas a few weeks ago and he said that the prequels were littered with small details that link to previous or future scenes/ episodes, but he also said that “everything rhymes. Its like poetry” and I think that Maul and General Grievous represent Anakin’s dark side.
Anakin is the father, isn't he? I'm so sorry. -Obi-Wan to Padmé One of the saddest, most heartbreaking moments in the entire saga... yet often overlooked.
“I’m sorry…I’m sorry, Anakin…for all of it.” The Obi-Wan series season finale had the most chilling and heartbreaking line in all of Star Wars and this was all I could think of when I heard it. Obi-Wan’s loss and Anakin’s tragedy.
"I am sorry I didn't help save your mother. I am sorry I didn't help you defend Ahsoka honor. I am sorry I didn't stand up for you to the the Jedi Council. I am sorry I didn't help you save Padme. Please forgive me..."
“He is the key to all of this.... I forged this war to bring him here... to kill him! To take Darth Sidious’s star pupil away from him!” I swear when I watch clone wars part of me always hurts knowing that Anakin will eventually betray all that he has ever known. It’s so hard seeing the care and compassion that he shows in this series to his master, his padawan, his soldiers, and his wife all just to know that through the duel of fates all of it will collapse on him, sinking him into a darkness that he could never have of imagined
As Snoke once said "Darkness rises and Light to meet it." In this particular case, Darkness (Vader) must rise so the Light (Luke) would meet it, then Balance would truly come to be.
Samuel Kim Music did I detect at 3:34 the transition between Anakin’s Betrayal and Across The Stars a small chord from Your Father Would Be Proud from Rogue One? Very nice Mix once again! Excellent job! Love it!
"How did my father die?" "A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi knights. You know the scene in RotS where Obiwan said 'Anakin is the father isn't he? I'm so sorry...' and leaves? I wish the movie could extend the scene and spare a brief second to show Padme sitting alone, sobbing, crying her eyes out. And this theme is the perfect music to that. I can hear all of Padme's thoughts and pain summed up in this music. The devastation and death of her love. All in this piece.
The saddest part of all this was that I truly believe Obi Wan could've saved Anakin. Even after everything he had done, had Obi Wan chose to rush to his aid and pull him from the lava bed things might have been different. With Anakin in his arms, pleading with him not as another Jedi, but as his true brother maybe Anakin could've had a moment of clarity. It's in his character, family is what pulled him to the dark side, family could've brought him to the light. Obi Wan Kenobi's greatest failure isn't letting Anakin turn to the dark side, it's that he abandoned him to it. The irony of it all is through his anger and hatred when cutting Anakin down, he sealed is fate to not only a great darkness, but a life of torment and torture far worse than any jedi on the run.
Yoda tells obi wan that anakin is no longer the boy obi wan once trained and he has been consumed by the darkside, his thoughts and actions are completely different than anakins. He was sent there to kill him and be thought he did kill him as he was burning alive and he only had one limb left which was his metallic hand. I doubt obi wan was even in the right mental state to even consider saving anakin after he saw him kill the younglings and all the Jedi in the temple. I think walking away from anakin burning alive was the hardest choice obi wan makes
I think there was a quote in one of the novelsations that when Kenobi encoutered Skywalker on Mustafar, he felt an evil coming from him far greater then that of Maul or even Dooku. I think that was what made him believe Anakin was truly lost. Let's not forget that Kenobi and Dooku both put in effort in trying to turn each other (Dooku back to the light, and Kenobi to the dark) I feel like Obi-Wan leaving Anakin was just the climax of his failed attempts to sway Dooku back, just as Dooku finally willing to kill Kenobi in Episode III (Unlike in Episode II when he still really wanted to turn him). If Kenobi couldn't save Dooku, how could he have saved Skywalker when Skywalker was even further gone. That's how I think of it. Not saying he was right, he probably considered it to be his biggest failure (as it was)
@@kevin-wg5iv i mean, padme died because of her heartbreak and the fact that the birth was already weakening her body. If obi wan saved anakin padme would've known that anakin was not yet gone and she could've been the one to help him out of it all, so i guess she would've pulled through if anakin was there as well.
The way Anakin is looking Kenobi dead in the eyes but Kenobi looks straight forward almost as if refusing to look at his fallen padawan is what I love about that thumbnail, it just shows Kenobi feeling so ashamed that he can't even look his "brother" in the eyes.

well, THAT episode hasn't come yet, but I wish it had. The moment at the end, justo before Ahsoka and Maul finished their fight, it would have been interesting to see the cliffhanger of Captain Rex and the rest of the 501st reacting to Order 66
I don't think people realize how truly beautiful, breathtaking and sad Revenge of the sith is. Revenge of the sith has so many different meanings like how anyone will chase power, but others will chase more. how even the person you grew up with, the person you trusted the most can betray you. and not every story ends with happiness sometimes the thing we fear to lose will be lost. but Anakin would destroy the entire galaxy just for Padme.
They also can't understand the Climax. To reach those epic moments in Rots you need the phantom menace and Attack of the clones exactly the way tey are. Lucas is a genious.
@@s1d3k1ckRO I don't think that the Clone Wars in the cartoon form, added any depth to the characters or the story, but a live action clone wars movie was necessary...prequels should be 4 movies.
@@MrUnkillableGaming the clone wars animation series is a collection of little adventures (with a lot of filler in it). There is no character development, because the characters are already established in the movies.
Despite the atrocities that Darth Vader committed, it was literally Luke's love for his father that predicated Anakin's redemption by turning back to the light side, and thus restoring peace to the beleaguered galaxy. "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix
It's horribly ironic. Anakin lived and died as a slave, even after he was freed from the Hutts by Qui-Gon, and Vader did the same. The Sith Code's final lines are:"Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall set me free." Yet it was Luke, about as close as you can get to a true Jedi (at least in Legends), who broke the chains of both Vader and Anakin.
For Darth Vader, I don't think it was the love of power that drove him mad. He had fallen so low, that he couldn't possibly redeem himself so he just kept falling lower and lower.

The tragedy of Anikan Skywalker is honestly one of the best stories ever told. He was a war hero, the poster boy of the republic and a hero to the people. People ask me why RotS is my favorite Star Wars film. “I’m So Sorry” is that reason. That song alone conveys so much emotion that tugs at each individual heartstring.
I have always been a Star Wars fan and never seen clone wars. Then gave three chances, and ended up finishing it in one week. Most emotional show I have ever seen.
"You were my brother Anakin!" I'll admit, I'm not too big of a fan of the prequel movies, but the last one got me emotional. I feel so much for Obi wan. He had a master he didn't spend much time with and watched die, a lover he was willing to leave the order for, who he also watched die, and a brother, who he had to say goodbye to.
And yet through all of this he holds true to himself like a Jedi should do, Obi-Wan is what all Jedi should aspire to be, Anakin is my favourite character in Star Wars but Kenobi through Ewan McGregor and James Arnold Taylor is one of it not the most well written characters in the Saga. I can't wait for the Kenobi series.
Why you gotta make my cry like this? I have the high ground and I’m still crying. In my opinion, if music makes you so emotional you cry, it’s a real good piece of music. Samuel Kim has the ultimate high ground.

I remember seeing this for the first time and wept and wept it was so good
To me, anakins eyes convey a deep surprise that after everything he did, obi wan was still willing to help him. He was actually crying on mustafar before the fight because he couldn’t believe what he had done and his master is showing him compassion when he believes he deserves none

Great description, I enjoy thinking about comments like yours!
Just a robotic monster, in the case of Anakin.
EpVI proved quite decisively that he was still fully capable of love.

Thats what makes him a Jedi.
Anakin was probably worse. He grew up a slave, worked tremendously to get into a high place yet was still a slave to the jedi and the sith, but he loses everything.
Incase you didn’t know
In A Deleted Scene
Anakin was actually going to say “save me” to Obi Wan and beg for his former master to save him from death. Obi Wan would then look at his corrupted apprentice and deny him, leaving him to die instead. This is when Anakin’s eyes go fully yellow and he is filled with rage and resentment.
oof
Chris Paez it would of made his transformation into Vader feel more of Obi-Wans fault and make us sympathize with Vader even more. I wish it stayed in as well.
General Grievous he could of also thought saving him was letting him die to save him from the pain he caused
They should have done that instead and maybe added the brother part to it, mix two halves of a whole

MVP, man, MVP!
I love the few moments in Clone Wars where he slips to the Dark Side, like with that slaver and chasing down the person who framed Ahsoka
His only flaw was that he cared too much, which is so tragic in its own right 😢
EyeAr WeeTawTed What i love about the clone wars is that it makes it more believable that he turned to the dark side.

This doesn't mean Vader is weak or wimpy.

Let's not forget that Kenobi and Dooku both put in effort in trying to turn each other (Dooku back to the light, and Kenobi to the dark)
I feel like Obi-Wan leaving Anakin was just the climax of his failed attempts to sway Dooku back, just as Dooku finally willing to kill Kenobi in Episode III (Unlike in Episode II when he still really wanted to turn him). If Kenobi couldn't save Dooku, how could he have saved Skywalker when Skywalker was even further gone. That's how I think of it. Not saying he was right, he probably considered it to be his biggest failure (as it was)
i believe that, I think if obi want had taken dragged him out and escaped with him, even padme could of made it out of child birth.

Despite the atrocities that Darth Vader committed, it was literally Luke's love for his father that predicated Anakin's redemption by turning back to the light side, and thus restoring peace to the beleaguered galaxy.

@@tommytommy7535 same.
It's horribly ironic. Anakin lived and died as a slave, even after he was freed from the Hutts by Qui-Gon, and Vader did the same. The Sith Code's final lines are:"Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall set me free."
Yet it was Luke, about as close as you can get to a true Jedi (at least in Legends), who broke the chains of both Vader and Anakin.
For Darth Vader, I don't think it was the love of power that drove him mad. He had fallen so low, that he couldn't possibly redeem himself so he just kept falling lower and lower.

It was a silent trip; we all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private traitorous thoughts? Perhaps- but no one said a word. The tragedy of Anikan Skywalker is honestly one of the best stories ever told. He was a war hero, the poster boy of the republic and a hero to the people. But his mind was twisted into becoming a monster. But even during time as Vader his humanity never truly left him, he felt bad for what he did at the Temple. The screams of the younglings would haunt him forever, and ultimately awaken the man behind the monster.
I don’t care what anyone says. The prequels were always just a few minor tweaks away from being an operatic masterpiece on the level of the Greek tragedies.

Anakin: I Hate you!!
The Prequels are just one gigantic tragedy, a gigantic galaxy spanning civil war, so many good people turning against each other, for what ? Politics driving everyone mad, a genius trap designed by the most evil creature the galaxy has seen. A war that led to so much loss and so much suffering, so much destruction, so much death.. And what was it all for ? Nothing.. Just nothing. All ending in the one mad man that turned the galaxy against each other, coming to power bringing in a new age of terror and fear. But the common people of the galaxy would not let this happen and after a long time came together to destroy a planet killing weapon and in the end the entire empire fell by the hands of the people, and Anakin one who was back stabbed by the emperor bringing balance to the force and gaining his freedom and peace after a life of suffering, all thanks to hope, because Luke never lost hope, because the people never lost hope and fought on. So remember never loose hope in the good things of life and fight on, cause there will always be hope.

He had a master he didn't spend much time with and watched die, a lover he was willing to leave the order for, who he also watched die, and a brother, who he had to say goodbye to.
