As a kid this game and Wario Land, marked my childhood...I played this one to death! So much nostalgia..plus, I would finish it and just let the ending theme play!
@@Squirrelsquid as someone who grew up in a super homophobic environment, probotector was the only acceptable way to play contra. heck, i didnt even know contra for the first 5 years of me playing probotector and the guy who introduced it to me only did so with a face of disgust and disdain, like it was some kind of degenerate version of the much cooler probotector different times
omg nostalgics kicking in. Someone who finished the game ever??? To this day (I'm 25 soon) i never managed to finish the game always died before:O game is sooooooo hard tbh
Say what you want, the Probotector units are just as awesome as the Contra Corps from which they derive their motion and combat data. 'When robots run amok and commit crimes, it takes a robot to bring them down!'
Nehfarius In Contra 4/Dual Spirits, Probotectors are acknowledged in canon as units designed to operate in extremely hostile environments (a nod to the censorship?). Loved that.
Loved this game soooo much, and its great seeing it again.... have to say though, I might not have played this for 25 years but could tell by the end of the first level this player hasn't managed the optimum line through the game

Super suis arrivé au 5 ème niveau le monstre du niveau 4 était facile j'ai trouvé son point faible par contre le niveau 5 ya les truc qui tir un biais. Pour moi le niveau le plus dur c'était le niveau 3 super dur
jeez, first time i see anyone beat the 5th boss funny thing is, i can tell from your reaction speed that you're a better player than i ever was, but at the same time i know the game so much better than you do (at least the first 5 stages, since i never got past the 5th boss) so i couldve easily shaved off some minutes off of your time reaching the 5th boss (which i always thought was the last boss and hence, in my child brain, made to be impossible so you never get tired of playing the game since you cant ever finish it). only thing you taught me aside from how to beat the 5th boss was the weird way you beat the 3rd one. i'm pretty sure it wasnt intended and therefore a glitch that you abused, that you could jump on the still live enemy without it killing you like any other gun would, also, usually you have to destroy all weapons of an enemy for it to get destroyed, yet you only actually destroyed the top. anyway, i was wondering why you picked up inferior weapons all the time, do they give you extra points? a single normal enemy gives you 200, 20k is needed for an extra life, but you didnt extactly need them, so i wonder if you took all weapons as a meme of sorts, since i always take the heat seaking shot gun (H) for side scrolling levels and the flame thrower (F) for top down levels, with the sole exception being the levelled up shot gun (S) (S) for when i die or when i havent yet reached the best weapon in the particular level, yet. (actually, now that i'm thinking about it, the heat seeking shotty is great for beating bosses, too.) ps: wait what...i just realised that it wasnt even the boss but the pre boss...op pre bosses of the 90s, my man
Really nice to see. This was my Second Gameboygame after Tetris. I was 9 Years old. Now i am 36 and i can remember all Levels and Weapons...Wow

Heh. Probotector. Easily my favorite form of censorship.
Everything is better with robots.
everything but doom
I always thought the Probotector robots are way cooler than the buff contra guys.

Better times. There is nothing worse than Woke Shit!
they knew what a boss means back in the day and what kind of music accompany a boss . that is no longer the case nowadays
The old good days are short. Nostalgia
I love probotector too much
Domo Arigato, Mr. Proboto.

Awesome game.

Loved that.
It's one of the rare cases that censorship didn't just make it worse, Robot or Soldier they're both badass.
omg that 1st level music is so awsome
なんだこれは!キャラクターのデザインが変わっただけで音楽も全て同じ!。僕は子供の頃このゲームでいっぱい遊びました。音楽も素晴らしくていっぱい遊びました。とても良いです!
My first Game Boy game after Tetris . Still looks and sounds great
Loved this game soooo much, and its great seeing it again.... have to say though, I might not have played this for 25 years but could tell by the end of the first level this player hasn't managed the optimum line through the game
Childhood memories...
The original game was titled Operarion C
I was playing this game on the toilet at 6 years old
nostalgia i feel like a kid again
noooooooooooo dopo 20 anni mi ero tolto sta musica dalla testaaaaa noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Sometimes I still hum the end-credits music
Is this a spin-off of the Contra series?
In europe, contra was called probotector
+walkerO97 Yes, they changed the soldier to robots to make it more 'kids friendly'.
I live in germany. Here, even Hamtaro gets censored for nosebleeding or some crazy bullshit.
