Great video Trail! Here’s a little hot tip! When applying the sight tape from Archers Advantage laminate your whole page and then use carpet tape to stick it to your sight. 100% weather proof and it won’t move anywhere!!
Love the detailed process...been looking for a good explanation on using Archers Advantage! FYI, double sided scotch tape (instead of using an arrow wrap) also works pretty well!
Great video. I picked up a few things for archers advantage on top of it all. I used photo paper and got better lines when I printed. Going to try them glue on the wrap.
Hey bro.I like your informative video's.I don't know anything about archery but alway's wanted to learn.I picked up the cheapest compound bow i found and some arrow's,(Hunting and Fishing,New Zealand)and watch good video's like your's then go outside and try to remember all of the things you and other's on UA-cam have said in order.for example:Posture,How to stand,How to hold the bow properly,Start with the lowest poundage so you can put different part's of your bodywhere they are supposed to be and how to move.i don't know anyone either so I just watch these youtube video's and try to teach myself.probably doing it all wrong but never mind.Just wanted to say than you anyway.
Awesome video though, this is so helpful! And great to see a little peek of that range. Been wanting to get out there, but waiting for it to dip into the cool 90’s 😆
Once again Trail you have Blessed us with Great informational video. The time and detail is this video was awesome. Thank you The time and dedication you put into helping others God's Blessings to you and family and the Team at Go Hunt
Hi Trail, nice video. I’d like to know why you did not shoot your arrow through a chronograph to input the exact speed in the bow configuration - bow details tab? The initial speed that the software populates after selecting the brand of bow and AMO draw length is always 100% not accurate thus giving you the wrong sight tape, right? Also, I’m confused about the AMO draw length thing, some people measure it at full draw on a draw board from the center of the berger hole to the nocking point and then add 1.75” to whatever measurement they get. Some people say that bow manufacturers already take into account the 1.75” for the cam/mod type of any given bow. I’d appreciate if you can share your opinion on this as I’m pulling my hair trying to get the perfect sight tape (black gold pro hunter hd three pin) Thank you.
If you use a single pin sight like the Hogg Father that has a built in elevation scale it’s so easy. Shoot at 20 and set the scale to zero, shoot at, say, 60, or whatever, make notes re the indicated reading on the scale, then add marks in yardage to the wheel adjacent to the scale. Work at it and refine your settings. Building a yardage scale from computer programs is trying to get the tail to wag the dog.
Hi Ed, I agree the Spot Hogg sights are well designed and have extremely tight tolerances. That sight, and a few others that they make are a bit heavy for my liking though. If you ever needed to build another tape for that sight, Archer Advantage can be used very easily and you can build your own using it. Hopefully this helps some people that are using different sights, all the best this Fall and thanks for the feedback!
100yd on my sight tape was shooting 110yd at tac park city. Sea level to 8000ft. 80yd was shooting close to 85, can definitely make a difference even at closer ranges
Hi there, this is an interesting question and one I have been thinking about and perhaps we will do some testing and a video on the topic in the future. I live and sighted in at my local range which is at 5,700 ft and this last weekend we shot the Park City TAC event and for yardages further than about 80 yards or so we did have to cut a couple yards. For example, on the RMEF course the first shot was 94 yards and my first arrow of the day with my sight set at 94 I was right at the top of the back. I adjusted it to 92 and elevation was right on. Through the rest of the course, anything over about 80 yards I was cutting a couple yards. I need to do some testing with broadheads, inevitably a broadhead is going to drop a smidgen in comparison to a field point and I'm speculating that my tape for anything over 80 with a broadhead will be almost exact but I need to test it. Luckily I live where I can be up at 10K ft in a half hour so I'm going to run up and confirm it. I would suggest that if you sight in at close to sea level and then come up to high elevation mule deer and elk country that your impact point is going to be 2-4 yrds hot. I'd suggest that when you get into the high country you take a half hour or so to confirm your impact points. Hope that helps!
@@trailkreitzer9163 thank you! I asked archers advantage the same question and they gave about the same answer. With their tech, it would be awesome if they had a model for that.
Hi Zach, the Beestinger Microhex bars are very similar in size and design but I have had a couple end caps that came loose and I had to pop them off and epoxy them again. That isn't a huge deal and was a relatively easy fix but it's one reason why I decided to buy and try a set of the AAE bars. Beestinger makes a great product and many friends of mine shoot them with no issues, but that was the reason I moved over to the AAE bars. Hope that helps!
@@trailkreitzer9163 thanks Trail that helps a bunch! I shoot the same exact setup you have excerpt I have the dual trac. I was wondering if the aae bars help any more with vibration then the bee stingers?
Hi there, agreed and I noted that. I would highly suggest you sight in on a calm day, on a level surface. It looks like it's more downhill than it is, but you are right...calm days, level shooting and shoot groups. Thanks for the feedback!

Best video i have came across regarding sight tapes. And sighting in a bow in general. Thanks for the information
That's awesome to hear, and stoked we could help!
Thanks for checking out the video.
Very informative video, Trail. Love these types of archery videos.
Love to hear that! Thanks for watching.

Hey trail, how do you account for elevation when hunting at 10k vs sighting in at sea level?

Why did you switch from bee stinger bars to aae bars?

“Building a sight tape” is the new “running a __________pack”.
What's the name of the range?

Shooting down hill at 60yds sighting in???you need a 100 percent flat area seems like a rookie thing to do.

EZV sights are way better honestly no worrying about sight tape or anything else
Wonder if anyone’s taken a tire out missing that target 🤔🛞😅
