The Best Way to Sight in Your Bow

- Are you confident in your shot? Really, truly confident? If you’re questioning yourself even a little bit, here’s a faster, easier, and more accurate way to sight in your bow.
Rather than trying to hover over the top of an “X” on an archery target, use a vertical and horizontal line to hone in your bow sight quickly and effectively. By aiming at lines rather than a bull’s-eye you focus on one axis at a time and by the time you’re done, you’ll be able to drive tacks with your bow and arrow.

Another good idea is to place your tape perfectly vertical and horizontal with a level. Then by using the level on your sight, you should hold perfectly inline and keep everything straight. If the tape is not level and perfectly square to each other, you can be mislead into thinking you are inline when you are not. It just leaves less margin for error, especially when shooting at longer distances.

I had no lessons and now can hit a target from a little under 50m away with a $260 bow from eBay ( So many lost arrows)
I did get a release aid and a drop down but beyond that stock as a rock.

Thank you! Brand new to using a compound bow and this will help me sight it in... only thing I wish you had done was actually show HOW to move the sights to change distance. You showed the lateral movement for left/right, but you didn't show how you adjust them for the distance.

I like this method because you don't risk damaging your arrows shooting tight groups. Why didn't I think of that👍
if you cant shoot a bow straight.. its your problem... hooking a sight and quick release will help.. but it WILL kill your natural skill.
Harley Me maybe that’s true. But when hunting you can’t take any chances. You have to be so dialed in there is no doubt that you will ethically harvest the animal with a hit to the vitals. Wounding an animal and having it disappear and suffer a long and drawn out death is worst case scenario
This is the best way to demonstrate sighting in.
Don’t sight in your bow in with Broad heads... field tips if the same grain should shoot the same if your bow is tuned right... just shoot to make that are hitting the same
