All my tools come today from arbortech ,kutzall and my jawhorse (don't remember the brand I ordered 😕) however point is this.... If my first bowl turns out HALF as good as to what you did I'll be proud. So sir you should be DAMN PROUD of what you've accomplished 👏 🙌 👌 I would be
I have been grinding out bowls for some time now! It definitely makes a big mess and when you get down to the finer toothed discs its the dust that goes everywhere. I haven’t used Arborteck yet but might look into it. Nice work by the way!
Lovely. I cut down a tree for firewood today, and some of it has some pretty spalt like that. Very tempted to do something better with it than to burn it. Thank you for the additional inspiration.
A lot of wood turners I know start with green wood and turn the basic shape but don’t finish it. Then they put the piece in a paper bag with some wax or something so it doesn’t crack and finish it when it’s completely dry so they don’t end up with cracks
@@AggresivelyBenign thank you so much , I have green walnut,my first bowl cracked . With your suggestion I’m starting a bowl tomorrow. Thanks 🙏 Craig Pa.
I bought mine at Menards. I just checked their website and looks like they stopped carrying it. But if you search Jaw Horse on amazon they have many versions.
Doing better. It has taken some time for my body to adjust to the blood thinners. Between that and Slb orders I have been a bit lax on getting videos up. Merry Christmas to you too.
Far safer than a lancelot disc. Trust me I took part of a finger off with one of those things. Have never had the kickback or loss of control from the Arbortech products.
Thanks for sharing!
Great job.
Cheers
Not bad at all brother, you really did a great job.
The salting looks awesome. Thanks I learned a lot

Looks fab
I’d eventually like to do something like this to make “bathroom sinks” for my off grid cabin.... but I have to finish the cabin shell first...
Hey Cy, Merry Christmas!
Very cool!
Excellent
On the same idea but a much larger scale I've always wanted to make a dugout canoe
Now there is an Idea. LOL
nice job
Hey. I’m gonna try that ..Question. What kind of wood ? And does it have to be dead wood ? Green may crack when drying? Thanks again. Craig. Pa.
I am not 100% sure of the wood. It is heavily spalted as you can tell. I think it was Magnolia, but again not sure.

Where do we find the WORX clamping sawhorse? I have looked on there web sites but no luck finding the one you are using. Please give us a clue !
I bought mine at Menards. I just checked their website and looks like they stopped carrying it.
But if you search Jaw Horse on amazon they have many versions.
Looks good to me, but I also think you would enjoy a electric hand planer also.
I have one there was no need for it in this project. Hoping to have a new video up by end of the week.
Nice!! Wonder model of WORX bench you are using? Can't seem to locate anything like it on line.

This one is a Christmas gift. But I want to make more as I was not completely satisfied with the outcome on this one.
Ok let us know
What species of tree is that?
I think it was Magnolia. Its been here for about 2 years laying in an area that I kept my spalting stock.
