Hi! Everyone! Just wanted to point out that I think y’all assume this is a tutorial on how to clean an air fryer. It’s NOT! Clearly it says in the description that I was “trying “ a new Tik Tok trend. I normally DO NOT clean my air fryer this way normally. For anyone who thinks that we do this to clean an air fryer isn’t too smart or intelligent.
it's because it's unethical. if you're really smart, you would already know that it does not work better than just scrubbing it. You wasted time, you wasted electricity, this promotes nothing. You can't even say you did this out of curiosity too because that would just be crazy. Now even if it did something, an already boiled water in a thermos would be a great option. TIP. Put a sheet of baker paper on the bottom that also covers an inch or two around the side and slide your bottom tray down to keep the paper down and it'll keep the draw clean. And if you don't want to clean the tray all the time wrap the tray in paper too.
I usually put hot water and soup before i go to bed, leave it out in the open and the next morning give it a rinse and bam pretty much like new. That way you dont kill nobody or your fryer. If you're gonna be lazy about it at least do it right 😂😅
It doesn't clean it. It loosens up the dirt just like on every other dish. If you don't want to clean your air fryer, just get liners! Don't just keep sticking your food in that or you're going to keep transferring old food to new food o-o
I clean after each use that way I'm not scrubbing my knuckles away. Food releases much easier. I use Dawn and a scrubber. Don't let it build up like that 😢
Lazy TickTockers' cleaning. Do the same thing with hot tap water, soap and a little scrub. The key is to do it before it hardens. Not to mention this could be very dangerous. Electricity and water... with a fan to blow the water over the heaters. Good luck.
I actually had just recently washed out my air fryer basket but forgot, and put it in the air fryer still wet and turned it on, it blew the GFCI outlet, causing me to have to reset it (not a big deal). If you want to do something similar what you do is put the basket in and heat the air fryer for about 5 minutes at about 400F just like a pre-heat, and while it's running make sure your water is running hot -- When it's done, take the basket out and immediately put the hot water in it, and let it soak for a bit. Then you can pour out the water and clean it.
I personally clean it or wipe it out after every use, you heat it up to max temp bring it out and spray hot water and rinse it out, heat it up again then wipe out with a towel, I personally avoid dawn dish soap cause your food tastes and smells like it if you don't rinse the dawn out thoroughly.
At this point stop being lazy and clean it with your hands that's so much build up from u cooking in it and not cleaning it I'm sorry if your air fryer looks like that I can only imagine what the inside of the microwave and stove looks like
Soak in boiler hot water and then scrub it clean, all the fats will melt away.. no need to ‘air fry the water’ that is a hazard, mixing water with a electrical element and high speed fan… it’s not a kettle.

Now your food will taste like soap for days on end. I wouldn’t do this. Just let it soak overnight with hot water and a drop or two of soap, but do not cook the soap because the smell of soap will impermeate the insides and anytime you cook anything it will taste like soap.
Air fryers aren't supposed to have water in them. I highly recommend NOT doing this and just learning how to clean them the old fashioned way. Nothing beats it!!
I soak it with dishwashing soap mixed in hot water for 15 mins while i clean up the kitchen after cooking. Then i wash it thoroughly after. Easier to clean when soaked. I also wipe the inside part of the machine with paper towel to remove the grease.
Before you sit down to eat, poor hot soapy water from the tap into the fryer. Let it soak. Pour it out. Use a LITTLE elbow grease wiping out. Rinse. Easy. Sheesh!
