I chose and purchased the 42 inch version yesterday. My yard is very easy along the street but a beast of a one acre our back. Wanted the Kawasaki engine but the moaning and groaning about supply chain bs , I took the Kholer since it also had a 3 year warranty. Good video. Thank. You
@@carlsmowerandsawcan you speak a bit more to the Kohler vs Kawasaki angle? My local dealer only had the Kawasaki (which I bought) but said they actually prefer the Kohler because of updates they made within the past couple years make it more reliable than the Kawasaki now?
I got the 2023 Gravely ZT X 42 with bagger (not power bagger). It's AWEFUL!! Do NOT get this one! Also, the mower blows grass, leaves, debris all out of ALL sides of the mower including in front which goes RIGHT into your face and eyes! It's absolutely awful. I was advised to slow the mower engine/speed and that will fix it and it did NOTHING! The bagger is the 1st time Gravely did their own and it's AWFUL. The bags are WAY too behind the mower so if you're driving along side of a structure or fence, you can't just turn away from the structure normally b/c the bags are so far behind the mower, turning normally, the bags crash up against the structure. Literally the only good thing about the Gravely ZT 42 is the Kawasaki engine. I'm selling this mower despite having it for ONE season!!!
@@carlsmowerandsaw Was a several years old gravely zt x 42 with a Kawasaki engine. The stamped deck did a far better job than the 2023 zt x 42 fab deck. I got the new one because of how good the old one worked so, definitely surprising and very disappointed. I sold the 2023 piece of junk

Enjoy the new mower. Treat the Kohler well and it should be ok

Nice review man I think I'm going to buy the 42-inch
We have 2 in stock. 😀
What’s the difference between the ZT X 48, ZT XL 48 and the ZT HD 48?
Belt size and tranny
And frame and spindles and deck hangers…..
I would it is property dependent
How are the blades on this mower? I heard they're not that high quality compared to the ZT-HD?
The HD runs a much thicker blade.
@@carlsmowerandsaw How much do they wear compared to the ZT-X blades? Also, are these ones good for sandy soil?
Is the transmission serviceable?
You can change the fluid on the Gravely ZTX
U can change fluid, but has NO spin on filters.
I got this unit a couple of months ago. I don’t like the deck adjuster pin. It easily comes out of place when you hit a bump
That’s an interesting conundrum. If it continues you could maybe look at a magnetic pin
My pin is magnetic.
Man ya didn't even mention the drive system
Yes, they did make some improvements to the drive system being a serviceable transmission as well as the belt routing improvements

What mower did you have before?
