Watch This Before You Buy a STIHL Blade Installation Kit!
#CarlsMowerAndSaw #STIHL #Trimmer
Before you grab a blade installation kit for your trimmer, take a moment to check the gearbox of your current trimmer. While the blade installation kits may look identical in the bags, the deflectors are different in how they mount onto the gearbox. To make sure you get the right kit for your machine, remember this (or save this video for later):
For a "one bolt" gear box, pick up blade kit 4180-007-1032.
For a "two bolt" gear box, pick up blade kit 4180-007-1013.
Armed with this knowledge, you should be set to pick up the right blade installation kit for your trimmer!

Great video Josh never never use compressed air on a air filter 😮
It's amazing how many people do that.
Thanks for this Josh I did ask some time ago for a video on the different guards
Or you could buy an echo 590 for the same price Karma and it would be 4.1 horsepower Karma and come with a 5-year warranty!
I have used both and prefer the husqvarna
Nice. What bar size did you run
Any differences for a stihl combi?
Not at all. Good?
@carlsmowerandsaw Great. Thanks!
Wow now that’s handy as a pocket on a T-Shirt. I run about 4 chainsaws per day ms261 (18 inch bar) ms201T-(14 inch bar) ms462 (20 inch bar) ms661 (36 inch bar) do you have any that will accommodate those sizes like to get two one for freshly sharpened chains and one for the chains I need to bring to have sharpened
I love that. As handy as a pocket on a t shirt
I was looking at a John Deere S240 or a Cub Cadet XT2 in the spring but I like the looks of your machine, I will consider this for sure and I like how you can cut in reverse with the key position, thank you
It's a great mower and that feature is very helpful! My recommendation would be buy from a dealer first. And cub support is definitely not on par with Deere and Husqvarna
Thank you
I note you pressed the "Kill" button. How do you get it going again in Spring. Press it again?
Yes. I is on O is off.
Top early for xmas decorations 😂
You know it! I agree, but have been to any store.
@carlsmowerandsaw yep here in the uk it's started already..crazy
Hi Great video thank you I have the husqvarna 310 mk2 our first auto mower I noticed a manual switch with two lock symbols next to it the manual does not say what this is for ?
I’m sorry I don’t know the answer off the top of my head.
Stile 182 best of best
Glad you like it
A Husky. Lmfao
What Husky
Great video, very helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! What model do you have
Purchasing my first BR 600 today. Thank you!
Enjoy! You will love it.
I use a Stihl electric with the car wash kit. The car wash kit has two nozzles that make it a quick job.
That makes the process much faster.
what about the prices? what pumps do they have?
I am generally careful about pricing because prices can change and this would cause confusion. Stihl uses AR pumps
@ i am in mexico and its probably hard to find these cause some models are not to be sold here, just wondering to have an idea cause there are many options in the market starting around $700 … i know stihl is expensive but maybe starting from 1300- 1800?
Yes, that is the price range you’re looking at
Tecumseh Engine or LCT...?
LCT which bought out the rights to Tecumseh
What does this unit retail at?
Around 35k
Great videos 👏 would the FS56 be the equivalent FS55 R model?
Yes, absolutely. The 56 was the replacement to the 55.
We called dogs spirs
They to spur the tree well.
So leave the tank “full” of motomix for the winter?
That is the best way to do it from what we’ve found
It keeps the fuel lines from drying out been doing this since motomix come out never had any issues
@@st7650 thanks guys
Beautiful product can this work for brush cutters, my shoulders are always burning.
I don’t think so. Have you tried the Stihl Xtreme harness?
Vp small engine fuel
VP is good. It’s not on par with the Aspen or Stihl Moto but it is definitely better than pump gas.
What a total PITA this string head is - Aaaaaaah !!!
What is challenging you?
Save your cash, buy a husky
What Husqvarna would you recommend in this class? We find the Husqvarna saws under 45cc to have way more problems than the comparable Stihl units. This is based on years of experience using them and have a full service shop
Can I use regular gasoline with the hp ultra oil?
You may. You just risk more fuel related problems
Do you guys have locations in New York?
Sorry we are a single location dealership in Washington state
The 91's to heavy when topped off, the 70' shouldn't even be in the comparison. Actually the 94r is hands down my selection on many accounts. Weight, power to weight ratio, did I say weight? Seriously when their in your hands all day, the 94r is where it's at. Your body will thank you. It floats so good
Thanks for your input. The 94 does win on weight
Thanks for the unbiased look. I am looking for a 120cc saw for stump cuts.
Just watch out for that dirt😂
I bought an MS180C because I injured my shoulder and couldn't saw a regular saw for over a year. The easy-start feature is pretty cool, once you're used to it. Never drop start it, because you'll probably end up damaging the mechanism eventually.
I hear ya on the easy start. It’s pretty neat. I always say pull it like you’re open a heavy door. Pull don’t rip
Do you guys rent that out ?
Not yet. We will look into adding one to our fleet. When would you like one?
I bought 1 three months ago. It’s great! Use it when the limits recommended and you won’t be disappointed. It’s so much easier than cutting things by hand. Battery runtime is pretty good considering how small the battery is. I was very surprised because I thought it was a toy. It’s not!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I was surprised too, it’s pretty powerful for a small unit. Definitely not a toy.
Ace Hardware has the R model for $630.
That’s what all Stihl dealers sell at. I would recommend a dealer focused on OPE products that has a service shop.
Very helpful video. I just picked one of these up to run alongside my MS-194. Since this saw has some different features than any saw I ever owned (hope I like it), this video was awesome. Even my dealer didn’t go into such detail. Thank you!
I’m glad you found the video helpful. We do our best to help you learn about our products.
My Ms 500i R with 28 or 32 inch bar for cutting bigger stuff a Ms 261c with a 20 bar for medium to small stuff . They get my firewood cut .
Sounds like you have a nice setup! Running the lightweight bars on the 500?
MS 261. Best allround saw in my opinion. Powerful, lightweight, easy to start and reliable.
Love it. Run it with a 20?
@ 16, 18 and sometimes 20. It depends on what I am doing with it
Bought 2016 ran great 1st year then issues every year since. Just junked it and will not by another.
Wow. That’s been a solid machine for most people. But unfortunately nothings perfect. I’m sorry
In California, we can thank our governor, Newsom has destroyed our options
You can still buy larger than 45cc can’t you?
Go electric! 😊
Hmmm. In some cases yes
I just bought my second SH86 and love it. I love your videos! Keep it up
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! They are cool tools
could you do a so you own video on the sh86ce?
I need to. Thanks
Just returned the Stihl sha 140! No suction with small amount of leaves in bag with side vent open or closed! It’s laughable bad
I’m sorry you’ve had that experience. I personally haven’t tried it on wet leaves yet. Hopefully soon
Air filter is not nearly as important as the carburetor which always seems to need cleaning in those things
Carburetor is very important. If you run good fuel, carburetor problems do not happen though.
I have a Husqvarna. It’s done very well for us but I’m thinking about upgrading to a Stihl because they really are the best
Lighter, quicker, quieter, more fuel efficient are some of the benefits
Beautiful shop!!
Thanks Chip
That's what I did to my 2016 FS130r in 2017. I figured that out
Nice work. Back then Stihl did sell just gearbox attachments. That has changed.
Brush cutter how much

Carl, great video and thx for posting! When I took the spark plug boot off, a spring on the tip of the plug was attached and stuck. I think it belongs in the boot. It's a spring with a longer metal tail. How does that spring and tail go back in the boot? Thanks so much
figured it out, took spring off of plug and placed the tail back on through the spark wire and back through boot. Not a fun thing to figure out for a rookie
Is it still on the wire?
