The MS182 is 1/2 pound heavier for only 1/10 HP more. I'll take the MS 180.
Get it while you can, the 180 is going away.
Thats why you can only buy stihl equipment at approved dealers and not discounted sheds
That’s one important reason
Does your company bundle sthil equipment and sell outside of the US?
Can't hear what you are saying 😡
Sorry about that. In my test it seems fine but we will continue to work at improving your listening and watching experience.
Besta saw
462 or 391 is the best all around saw
Had it for two years. Was sounding troubled. Just greased it. Solved! Thanks, Carl!
I like that 400, wish I had one but my MS361 has done a great job for many years and I believe many years to come.
The MS361 is a great saw! What size bar are you running?
@@carlsmowerandsaw I have a 24" inch bar for it but I prefer the original 20" bar. Less teeth to have to sharpen and its plenty long enough for the trees in our area.
Right on 👍🏻 Love both trimmers solid and reliable.
Yes they are!
Its pronounced "Hoosk-Varna" Not mocking you man was just saying. Great video brotha.
You're right, it is pronounced "Hoosk-Varna". Appreciate the heads up. I go back-and-forth on how I pronounce it because honestly, it is amazing. How many people that work at the factory to do the same thing.
@@carlsmowerandsaw I know, I say it sometimes and people look at me funny. Happy NY buddy.
Great info, I do about 10 residential yards per week and just upgraded from a Husqvarna tractor to a Gravely ZT/HD.
That sounds like a great upgrade for your business. I trust it’s gonna make some very positive impacts on your time.
I have purchased this HS56 hedge trimmer. Lightweight and powerful! Thanks for the advice Josh you’re a legend mate! 🤙
Sounds like a great choice for you!
Always enjoying watching your videos Josh thank you for the advice! 🙂
I’m glad you are enjoying the content!
How do you take head off if the black Middle bit is worn down?
If worn to much a channel lock
@@carlsmowerandsaw thank you. Had to google what a channel lock was and now I know lol
I would not call it a rough experience, but when a reputable company like Sthil tells you they have a replacement saw for the ms170, one would expect it to meet or exceed the product it is replacing, but as I stated before, the saw is useless, and you would think the company that sold it to me would at least credit me for the return towards a bigger saw.
Trust me when I tell you, this saw is garbage, I had a ms170 for 14 years, problem free, would cut through any size tree for fun, went to maritime lawn and garden here in halifax and the salesman tells the ms 162 is the replacement saw for the 170, when I got this saw home and began cutting down my first tree, it just bogged down, so I took it back thinking it was a clutch issue, the technician took a look at it and told me there is nothing wrong with it, got it back home went to cut down a tree and same issue...POWERLESS, my 83 year old uncle came with me in the woods, he had his 12 yr old ms170, he cut down the tree I tried cutting, like a hot knife through butter, I said here, try my 162, he never had it in hand for 10 seconds, handeded it back to and said..what a piece of junk. Do not buy a Sthil ms 162 chainsaw.
I appreciate your feedback, it seems like you've had a tough experience.
I've always been with husky but really looking hard at the wood boss. Grew up with dad using a homelite 210. I still have it. A mean little chainsaw.
Can I run the HT KM Pruner on the solid shaft version?
You sure can
Just bought a clone 180 for $120. Normally I would say the Chinese knock off don't have the QC of Stihl products, but we all know Stihl phones it in for their home owner products. Biggest advantage to going with an older style import? Fully adjustable carb and standard side bar adjustment. My primary saw is a 362 and I would never consider anything besides OEM for my bread and butter work horse, but for a milling saw or a light homeowner option, Stihl needs to up their game to be competitive.
Cheers mate! From Brisbane 👍
Ok how do i get more wire when it gets too short
Tap it on the ground while the head is spinning at half throttle plus
White bro cmon
The OG Whites
How often should I replace my fule filter?
How much fuel are you putting through that machine every year?
Is there a hedge trimmer attachment compatible with this trimmer?
Yes. Either of the Kombi hedge trimmers will fit
@@carlsmowerandsaw Am i limited to the Kombi attachment? Does stihl not offer any other hedge attachments compatible with this FS91R trimmer anymore?
@@kaseykraft26 the 0° gearbox or 0-145° gearbox from the Kombi attachments are your choices. I am not aware of there ever being another option
What’s the difference in the heads?
I have a 94r, if I’m getting a second trimmer that’s more powerful it would be the 91r
Good call
Merry Christmas Josh and your family 🙏. The RX trimmers just trimmer line because of the hollow shaft or you will be replacing it 😊
Merry Christmas to you too. And yes the hollow shaft is line head or poly cut only. B
Merry Christmas Carl's Mower & Saw! Really really nice videoes you make ( All of them ) Easy to hear what you're saying, and understand what you mean. Great Info
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas
Have been a Husky fan since I can remember. Bought a Husky 445e II in 2020 and absolutely love it for general homeowner use. IMHO its very light and has a great powerband.
Awesome. What is your favorite thing about the saw??
@@carlsmowerandsaw It fits the bill in many different ways and its easy for me to handle frolm my wheelchair.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Thank You and Merry Christmas to you as well. Wishing you a blessed day.
What a faf when your working and your hands are muddy and freezing, you want one like the echo style you turn the head to open up the tunnel and push in the line then turn to wind on and then go.
I switched to the auto feed had based on another of your videos. Absolutely love it. No more bumping, the line stays at a great working length.
Sounds like you've found a great solution!
Excellent saw! I love mine. Just wish i knew when i bought mine that if i got the msa 60 c for a hundred dollars less and got a ak30 battery to go with it i would have exactly the same performance. They are the same saw with a different battery and number on the side
Try an Echo, lighter, cheaper, and when ported run better than those two after ported
I bought an MS 182 3 months ago brand new. Store fired it up before I left. Took it to show my dad, probably a half hour to get there. Probably took me 20 pulls to get it started. I run an MS 361 that starts on 3-4 pulls, cold. I was NOT happy. I was ready to return it right then. Finally started an ran. After that, zero problems with it. Starts on 3-4 pulls every time. The 361 went down and purchased a brand new MS 311 a month ago. No problems on my first start up and both have been running perfectly so far. Very happy with both of them.
Glad to hear you got it going and it's running smoothly now!
Love the quick adjustment i knew it only had 1 screw didnt know it had to be tight now the adjuster works even better thanks for sharing hope you have a good Christmas
Thank you for sharing and for the positive feedback you have a great Christmas as well
I have a Msa 220c with a Quick chain adjuster as well as an ms251 with easy start(I’m not a fan). My bigger saw has bar nuts. I like the quick chain adjuster. I take my saw apart and clean it,touch up the chain with a 2 in one. Thanks for the video!
It sounds like you’ve got a great set up going there! How do you pull the rope on your easy start do you pull it like it’s a heavy door or do you jerk it like a normal chainsaw
Great Video Again. Now , which one is the best deal for a homeowner with 5 acres ?
What size freeze are you cutting? Do you call trees or just clean up down trees? Do you heat with firewood?
Downed trees , a little firewood for outdoor use
@ 3 acres , Clean up & a little firewood
I wanted to ask a question do you know if the throttle triggers the housings are the same on the BR 800 X as on the 800 C
From every thing I have seen they are identical
@ OK whenever you get into work tomorrow, could you check the part numbers for me if you want not trying to bother you
I have the 180c with quick adjustment and have had No problems with it !
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Most would agree with you
Does it have a heated handle?
Not this one. They don’t have a G version of the 3120
Do you have problems with the schedules dropping off randomly?
I have not experienced this
What is the difference between the red and black blade? I use the trimmer and its awesome, but takes a while.
The black is flat and red is bent down at the ends.
