The black metal tone was as spiky and thin as a frozen twig in a Scandinavian forest, as in a perfect representation
The weird thing is that this amp is so good it actually doesn't sound super terrible although you think it should. Personally I would add some mids but keep the bass low for that tone and be happy with it in a black metal context.

How to dial a good death metal tone?
An American will say: get a Dual Rectifier, crank the gain, boost with a TS9 and make sure you have EMG pickups on your guitar.
A Swede will say: clean channel, HM2, EVERYTHING ON 10, DONE.

For glam metal, if you have a graphic EQ in your chain, try using it to boost the treble
This was beyond entertaining. As an aging thrash metal head that played in the heyday, has the permanently- cramped neck from head banging, was a teen through hair metal, matured through doom, Death, groove, and nu metal to somehow find the now sounds, this was incredibly enjoyable while being instructive on how you achieve those sounds. Awesome job!
As a Glam Metal fan, I do like the tone and the look of the guitar used for the genre. I'm so big on glam metal that I like the look and sound used there.

Could’ve done the classic Swedish death metal tone- the Boss HM-2 with everything set to 10, so awful it sounds good
The tone they used for Thrash Metal also works well for Death Metal.

i say for the glam tone to go for the Van Halen brown sound. turn the presence to 10 and the gain almost all the way up, around 6 and 8. mids are to taste but don’t scoop them. go for around 5 and 6. crank the fucking bass. turn the treble down enough to muffle the tone a little bit, but only a little. and for reverb just go into a high school gym and go for that level

Way too much cardboard mids for Glam, it sounds like you have a high pass filter on, its all 1k to 3k and nothing else, I think that is the HB cab though, everything sounded filtered in a weird way, I mean I know that is popular for Djent though
There was a problem with the mic placement on the black metal sound. The mic has to be on the other end of the room.
Playing any of these genres with different tones if fun as well. Play blackmetal with the djent tone just see what happens. My tone sounds more like killswitch engage but i still play everything with that tone.
I play slayer with the black metal tone. Tbh, it's super exciting

How do you have so many guitars and not have an overdrive pedal?
Cab IR (if I'm assuming right and it's Torpedo) sounds terribly nasally but I know Generator is AMAZING.
I tend to turn my mids all the way up for black metal to make it more ear-piercing.
Quick and easy steps for people who don't wanna watch the whole video, for any style.
1. Dial in a tone you like.
2. Boost the mids by 1.5
3. Scoop the lows by 1.
4. Enjoy

About that Thrash tone?
Slayer didn't scoop their mids. On the contrary...they're the foremost poster child for *boosting* the mids. They even did this on Marshalls, which are mid-heavy amps to begin with.
neither did megadeth or early annihilator, but lots of people equate thrash tone with master of puppets. in thrash pretty much everything is allowed, i personally think the tone andy sneap and alex skolnik on the recent testament albums is the ultimate holy grail in terms of thrash.
One thing I gotta say about thrash. Yeah Metallica and other bands' earlier stuff had no mids, but even Kerry King says mids are important to your tone. They are the guitar's range, and without them, you're lost. So I wouldn't "scoop the living shit out of the mids, but maybe dial it in to be thick, and go into the graphic eq and cut the mids somewhat, not all the way.
