Loved the progressive changes to the amp to achieve the sound you're looking to achieve. I was also grateful for the things to avoid the craziness. As usual the playing is awesome!
Shawn, I keep re-watching this video as I am trying different things with the D25. As near as I can tell, it is almost impossible to dial in a bad sound with this amp. I appreciate the forethought that you and Revv amps put into the D25!
sheeesh, that sounds so dang good. I'm currently building a board around this amp (got a d20 to start) but I am loving what just a guitar and this amp can do! LIMITATION BREEDS CREATIVITY!
Lovely amp - great playing / tone. If REVV brought out a combo version of one of their higher gain amps with power reduction for home use at sane volume - I’d snap one up.
Thanks for this useful info in how to approach dialing in an amp! The D25 sounds great as does your playing!! Looking forward to seeing you at Cosmofest!! Safe travels!
I have learned all amps sound different and depending on pickups, guitars, whatever…., you dial in what sounds good. My Marshall dsl 40 w/ my Les Paul and Saturday night special pickups, requires the bass @10am and the treble almost at the same. The sm57 picks up a lot of the harshness from the celestion I can’t wait to get this d25. It’s what I’ve been looking for in a combo amp. Everything in one platform to go straight to FOH and still use my amp as the monitor. Takes pedals well and is not hard to dial in.
cant wait to have this amp!! can u guys please make an additional demo video showing of a clean platform that is hit with pedals such as a light overdrive, heavy overdrive, and lead distortion, again all pedals with the amp set super clean and blandish, would love that since the amp is not available in stores to try out, (yet?) thanx!!!
I may do an RT video of my personal pedalboard into the D25 so stay tuned. If you check out the Revv Live Stream that happens every Wednesday evening, Derek and the boys usually turn on a ton of different OD and Dist boxes into the D20 and D25 amps. Thanks so much for watching!
not trying to throw shade at anyone, but y'all really need someone else besides Shawn to review this stuff. He always does the same classic rock/blues style riffs and many of us guitarists know Revv for their absolutely killer metal tones. we definitely need to see more of that. I know for a fact a G3 would sound brutal through that thing, it's my go to pedal
This is super helpful. Ive been running gain at like 11 oclock, mv at 2. gain boost on. Running stereo at church with a 79 pro reverb so my crazy dirty wet sound comes from the D25 and the pro stays cleaner and blends nicely. Itsa good
Hey Shawn - sounds SUPER good as always; do you play with the round edge of your pick to get that SMOOTH tone??? I keep trying to match your tone and I can’t seem to get there holding my pick the standard way!! I also thought maybe you rolled off the tone knobs a bunch???
@@ShawnTubbs so……. Sorry to ask so many questions; does that mean you DO play with the pointy side of the pick, just at a 45 degree angle to the strings OR you use the rounded side of the pick at a 45 degree angle??? It just sounds super smooth and toneful the way u do it and I can’t seem to replicate it without turning my pick around (like SRV, Carlton, Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Birelli Lagrene, Guthrie Trapp…… etc.)
Sounds great Shawn. Of course much of that is your hands and beautiful phrasing. You are a marvel no doubt. How heavy are these combos? I love the features and I DO need something with more volume flexibility and a different tonality than my Magic Brit MK2 (AC15) but I'd also love something lighter too for gigs like last Sunday where the lug was up two flights of stairs! An AC15 style amp is still pretty weighty.
I love the amp, I love Shawn. But please, fix your audio. It’s simple. Just make sure the amp and the VO are not a million dbs difference. Just make sure they’re both similar. It sucks having to turn the volume up and down. If I’m up, I hear Shawn then the amp comes and BOOM, 30% hear loss. If I turn down for the amp., I don’t hear Shawn. But keep it up I do believe you guys are one of the BEST BRANDS OUT THERE! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🏼 fix your audio levels.

Thanks very much!!
"dial with your ears, not with eyes" - a great phrase to remember :) THX Shawn
Thanks for watching!

Would love to know more about the cleaner tones as well - especially using a Tele vs. a Les Paul - thanks Shawn. !
Great video Shawn and very nice sounding amp. Definitely an amp to consider for jobbing gigs. Thanks again Shawn
Thanks, Sam!

If you're available when Revv do their livestreams (Wednesday evening?), they are super accomodating at demo'ing whatever you throw at them.

I generally "roll" the pick so it's not parallel with the string. It sounds warmer.

Thanks for the kind words! The D25 weighs just under 32 lbs.
When will REVV make a head version of this great D25 ?
It's not out of the question but it would be quite a bit down the road. Thanks for watching!
🧐🤨 I’ll need 3 one just edge of break up and the other 2 dead clean for a D75 WDW rig.
Ahhh the joys of a WDW.
Nice tweek tips Mr Tubbs
Haha! Thanks so much!
@@ShawnTubbs no thank you for sharing this knowledge Sir

Ok, cool thanks I'll work on that.
