Something you missed is that the iPhone 8 actually had wireless charging but not MagSafe which correct did come on the iPhone 12 but wireless charging came on the iPhone 8
Lightning supporting only usb 2 is not actually true, it's just that iphones never had a usb 3 controller before. Google apple lightning camera adapter
I think bringing USB-C to iPhone 14 Pro and leaving Lightining on the base 14 would’ve been smart. It would’ve said that Apple wanted to put it on there and make it a pro feature.
I half expected Apple to go port-less with a mix of MagSafe, wireless connectivity such as AirDrop and pogo pins so they could still rake in all that proprietary accessory money. It's funny that Apple was one of the main pushers of USB-C for it's MacBooks with basically having one USB-C port in 2015 yet continued with the lightning cable until 2023.
I hated when they did introduce USB-C on the iPhone 15 Pro, they made it seem like Apple was doing us a big favor by providing us with some new and revolutionary innovative connection port. Like how it took them "courage" to remove the headphone jack to then give us AirPods as it's replacement.
I know that usb-c is objectively better, but lightning is easier to plug in, especially when it’s dark. Not only is it easier, it was also less likely to scratch your device if you missed and felt around for the port. Now that i have the 16 pro max, i almost exclusively use MagSafe for my iPhone, but have been using usb-c to charge my iPad Pros for a few years now. Also, be careful cleaning a usb-c port. It’s so easy to damage it and render your charging port useless.
Lightning did actually run at USB 3.0 speeds on the 1st gen 12.9” iPad Pro. USB 2.0 speeds was and continues to be a decision made by apple even on the non-pro iPhone 16 models
Been using iPhone since 4s. As soon as I saw the thumbnail, I couldn't stand complaining about Apple chargers. Stupidly big chargers with low wattage, not to mention it's price tag 💀💀
30-pin: non reversible Lightning connector: perfect until… USB-C comes: Lightning connector chargers come with usbc on one end with the Lightning on the other, not reversible when charging an iPhone with Lightning with an iPhone with USB-C USB-C: charge it any way you like and it doesn’t matter, especially when you’re charging a device that’s got non-USB-C using a device with USB-C
Not exactly an evolution for UCB C simply a better alternative to the crappy lighting cable which every other phone brand has been paid ain't for years there's nothing better than being able to use the same cable for everyone of my devices

Ever wonder why Apple tend not to innovate and retain even probably archaic lightnig port and kept prices ever raising? Coz Apple fans are Locked-in into Apple ecosystem, which means, iCloud, Aidrop, Apple Pay and so on... It's so integrated that people would still buy even if the new iPhone models sucks... and even if the price is _"too goddamn high"_ 😅
@@johnnyjoestar285 Not really. They can put the OS and everything in the storage while manufacturing it by connecting directly to contacts on the mainboard. That's also how companies do it with products that run only with batteries and don't have a charging Port. But still having a port if obviously a better solution for consumers.
Bro said a little push if it wasn’t for the eu we pull still have lightning today
Nah they would just make 3 pin
If the EU didn't come for the rescue we would be in 2050 and still have lightning charger 💀😭

fr💀
Would be port-less by then

@sllick who knows :/
MagSafe was introduced in 2006 with the MacBook.
the vid is about iphone chargers, not macs. magsafe’s iphone version was introduced in 2020 with the 12
Something you missed is that the iPhone 8 actually had wireless charging but not MagSafe which correct did come on the iPhone 12 but wireless charging came on the iPhone 8
Lightning supporting only usb 2 is not actually true, it's just that iphones never had a usb 3 controller before. Google apple lightning camera adapter
Now MagSafe for iPhone supports up to 25w
Thanks for the clarification!

Gotta get rid of those 60hz first tho 😅
pro devices run 120hz
@ I own a 16 Pro my friend
@mightnare3237 ok ?
Ok 👌
Man my cheap budget sumsung has 90 hz why cant a 800$ iphone have more than 60hz

3:49 “By the late 2010s, it became clear that Lightning’s days were numbered”
What?? It came out in 2012 with the iPhone 5!!
It means 2018 or 2019 😉
LATE 2010’s
although it’s not much, apple released a magsafe 2 that charges up to 25W
You go man! Your success in the tech space seems inevitable honestly 👀✨
They could put pins on magsafe ro allow data transfer or extra fast charging or only pins like on the ipad
Very Informative Video😄🥰😍
6:56 *gigabits
6:55 *Gigabits, gigabits is the way we measure data speeds and it's about 1.25 gigaBYTES per second, great content btw
Yea whoops a bit of a typo
GigaBits vs GigaBytes. Who will win?
@KoopaRipper-dk8sz gigaBYTES it's approx. 8 times better??? Idk 😐 how do you measure which data measuring unit is better?

agree, the convenience of usbc everywhere is great but lightning design is much better. also i feel like its much easier to get dirt in usb-c ports
@ yup not only is it easier to get dirt inside usb-c, its so much harder to clean out without damaging the port.
i didnt have to adapt to having a usb-c ipad 10 port. because my iphone 14 plus has a lightning connector.
Lightning, like on the last iPads with em, could have quick data transfer speeds
Lightning is stuck at 2.0 speeds so honestly good riddance to it
Happy new year 🥳
Very interesting !

6:53 gigabits and gigabytes are not interchangeable terms, unfortunately
i love these videos!!!
I totally agree!

The lighting one was yummy😋
It's faster to transfer files over 5ghz WiFi using smb, Apple files supports windows smb by default
The usb c charger is much better than the lighting charger
did you say massive? 1:26

Just made this comment for keeping information I guess
i use lightning charger bc i have a iphone 7

9:41 fin.
obviously duh you cant use magsafe for data transfers 😭it works on the principle of electromagnetic induction
6:54 Gentoo
If Apple decides to remove USB-C and make a portless iPhone, wouldn’t that violate “EU Common Charger Rules” too? 😅
Yes and it would be impossible to put an operating system on an iPhone with nothing being able to transfer those files

Just get a Google Pixel
Ewww yuck never
I've tried Pixels and Samsung, but I always come back to iOS. It's just so polished, and the apps and everything feel way more premium than Android.
Ewww that’s disgusting iPhones are so much better look at this emoji it’s so much better than android🍑
MagSafeeeeeee. 💙💙💙🤑
