What Happened to Curved Screen Phones?
Переглядів 299 тис.Місяць тому
Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra may look almost identical at first glance, but there's one big change that might not jump out at you: the curved screen is gone. Samsung, the brand that once made curved displays the future of smartphones, has ditched them completely in the S24. But why would they drop such an iconic feature? Contact me here! ➤ punkwavebusiness@gmail.com
I always disliked the curved screens
under display camera is the best
faceid is not advanced
It is
On the Galaxy s10’s I’m not sure it goes to the newer models as well but, they have an option to play a game that moves the top edge of the screen to the bottom of the camera.
what about the under the display camera?
That notch is another huge reason I'll never own a iPhone. That shit is hideous
7:21 Ah, yeah, innovation by putting controls to the worst spot possible, like why not controlling clocks or music by tapping on the screen area that lies criminally close to the selfie camera?
it’s a great spot imo, I love it
I like the Dynamic Island for rn.
the pill cutout is just nice to look bro btw idk if i'm the only one that HATES full displays (without cutouts)
A hole punch with Dynamic Island software would be cool
Honor have phones that uses the hole punch design and also support dynamic island (honor magic capsule)
no it would not. Dynamic island is apple trying to hide a hardware limitation. only fools think it's a feature
what about the underdisplay camera and the pop up camera
phones on the thumbnail: iphone 15, galaxy s20, iphone 12, pixel 3 xl, iphone 14 pro max, galaxy s10 5g
thanks, nerd 🫶 😘
First one isn’t iPhone 15 cuz it doesn’t have Dynamic Island
Criminally underrated
I like the pill cutout. I wished more companies adopted such a layout
yea me too
Always interesting videos, thank you sir ❤
It's gonna become a thing of the past in like less than a decade
Well
And camera flip
I like the hole punch cut out one
On 1:22, it has Saunalahti, which is Finnish. I was not expecting that!
Samsung S9 here, soooo no cut out 0:03
s9 plus here, goated phone
I Found your channel a while ago and was immediately hooked on your videos and really enjoy them
Man I’m very early
First to like and comment
I am still using my Oneplus 7 pro, 5 years old,and I seriously cannot move to any other smartphone today as I am totally addicted to the immersive full screen display and seriously hate any notch/cut out that interrupts the display. Plus pop up cameras are really reliable tech no issues till date. Oneplus made the best looking smartphone of all time- Oneplus 7 Pro and then didn’t continue the legacy. Truely sad😐
I just found them ugly as f... from the start, I could not understand how anyone could like this. Especially the old Samsung Edge phones, such as the S6 edge. It just looks so bad, these weird curved edges, and apart from that I hate bend screens because they obviously curve the image and that looks even worse then the smartphone itself. Also I hate the feeling of going around that curve with my fingers when all I want is swiping. And good luck reaching the edge with your fingers when it is beneath a protecting case. I always loved the design of the iPhones, except the iPhone X and 11, even though I absolutely hate Apple. In my opinion, the iPhone 8 looks absolutely fantastic. I also like the new iPhones, since they removed the huge notch at the top of the screen, however I don't like the camera design at the back. I also love the design of the Samsung Galaxy S24.
Trust me, using back button gesture on my s22 ultra is a delight!
Still have Xiaomi Mi 9T and feeling hopeless choosing new phone with "perfect borderless" screen(
Had a Honor 70 with curved screen, and hated it
Is that dot or a rectangle really a problem for most? This is a genuine question. If a brand would add it, it's more of a gimmick rather than solving an “existing problem”.
i only dislike it for the cases.
s10+ user here, I have had 0 of these issues. infact. I dont even see the point of upgrading to a new phone. the new phones feel like downgrades.
There are a lot of mistakes and misconceptions on this video, the technology is still there and improving, ghost touches are not a problem anymore for the past 2 years, the strenght has been improved, people uses silicon-based, custom cut and hand applied screen protectors, people like curved screen because phone are lighter and sleeker. Lots of customers at the shop where i work at, want lighter phones, and edge ones are an option. Plus the statements that made me laugh my ass off: "More durable" "Easy to handle" "Larger battery" That is not true at all, the first one is debatble looking at the curved screen on xiaomi, honor, motorola (even apple watches), the second one is literally the opposite, they are cluncky and uncomfortable and third one all the brands mentioned above have bigger batteries than apple phones on curved screens. "Recent trends have proven that customers choose function over form at the end of he day" Absolutely not, customers are stupid and will choose 90% of the time what is trendy, that's why they choose apple instead of other brands. None of the customer i work with care about functions, practicality and specs; they just want an iphone because it's an iphone even tho the last good one was the 8. It is just idiotic thinking people care about anything but appearance and design
Curved screens just look ugly and stupid. Don’t understand why people marketed it as luxury. Glad it’s gone.
I had the 7 pro for 4.5 years and it still worked! Only reason i had to replace it was because there was some weird interaction with my college wifi
Idk i did like my s7 edge and s8 plus really much back in the day...
IDC I'm not letting my curved screen go. I love them.
is this script AI?
BECAUSE THEY SELL ALREADY THE PATENT THE RIGHT TO THE FUCKING CHINESE
I _always_ felt like the curved screen on my S10 (was it on my S7? I don't recall) was gimmicky and prone to doing things I didn't want or making some swipes misbehave.
samsug
What the fuck, 6k subscribers only????
But a solution to this is hidden underscreen cameras.
Very few phones have this Feature.
Every one copying apple
i have a k20 pro
Apple does NOT care about what is more durable. Let's be clear here.
yeah...I use to wonder this
Oneplus 7 pro still it working fine after 6 years . Dont know why tech world didn’t followed that
That one unexpected bonus prolly led to its downfall.
Boring people are the reason why edged phones are gone. We need to bring them back cause simplicity is not the key to making a "phone" good
