This was a very helpful video. My iron was not working. Then I noticed that the cord portion, right next to the plug, had frayed. I could even see the exposed wires, if I looked very closely. I got a Leviton 15-amp non-polarized replacement plug online from Home Depot for $2.44. I installed it and my iron now works with no problems. Before I saw the video I was actually planning on throwing the iron away iron which I've had for a long time and really like (it's GE). Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much! I got a short in my iron plug in while I was in the middle of making curtains, no money to buy a replacement atm. (It's a VERY expensive iron.) I would've been hosting Christmas without curtains to cover my mess of a sewing room, which would mean that i would have to clean it. Nobody wants that. ;) $2.50 and a trip to Home Depot, and I'm back in business. You are so awesome for posting this.

Definitely saving my a** with this and i dont own the washer ....i was just allowed to be in a family friends home ...crazy you try to let other people have a good place for a short time then when you tell them to leave off someone elses property and explain this isnt yours ...they decide to put people like us in a position like this ...i thought i was destroyed from my will after seeing a plug like this ya'll (from texas here lol) this girl was so pissed she woke up from her sleep or played like it ....smoked a cigarette (in a rehabbed home looks like a modernist type mansion design) in the bathroom, ripped my original army jacket shirt arm off, dropped fruit on the floor purposely (the floors are wood and very light tan sandish), left dishes she cooked with dirty, and cut the plug to the washer ..... everything else wasn't so bad when i woke up this morning i found myself in this position.....
Learn from my experience never deal with someone who thinks that their mental health is an excuse...fk that....to some degree ...but even in jail after awhile sometimes they get to be too much ....and for this girl in particular shes aware of what she is doing ....she repeats everything back in crystal clear memory... literally everything...so i call bs ...but yeah peeps glad to be part of the broken plug family lol 😏😂🤣🤣 and stay away from crazy girls !!! 🤣🤣🤣
