Hey GamerBody,
I was wondering if you saw Mike's review (YT channel: Sliding Bench Trainer) for this? He was complaining that the hooks would come loose no matter how much hey tightened it. Not sure if you ever came across that issue or not.
Also somebody I know is looking to start working out and she's somewhere between 4'11"-5'2". I was looking for a low cost to entry option but it seems that SS 32" bands would be the only viable solution for her if she were to go the band with hooks or carabiner route.
Any other ideas??? I know she could also use a galvanized pipe or whatever and some SUNPOW bands and just wrap the bands around something cylindrical for more tension. But in general, the better your equipment and the more aesthetic, the more you're going to want to use it, also making staying consistent easier and just sticking to the process a little more effortless.

I haven't used other sized bands unfortunately. I think with the method I use it should work fine. You are 5 inches shorter than me, so I hope the bands have enough tension - you may need to add a few together depending on your strength level.

I already replied to this but youtube likes to randomly delete comments lately. Anyway, yes I did. They were very responsive and when I suggested that selling the hooks separately would let people use the 2 short sections of bar as dumbell handles for bands and that they would have the only all-in-one set for barbell/dumbbell handles, they liked that and said they would get started setting up an amazon listing right away and it would take about a month.@@outtrigger

• @GamerBody

If you are using enough intensity in the set to stimulate a response, it won't matter what you use. For me, it is still more comfortable to use the handles when targeting the lats in a bent over row, then a bar for upper/mid back.

I hope the rubber coating holds up ok. It seems like some cheaper rubber grip materials start to break down after 2-3 years, sometimes becoming sort of gummy/sticky/gross, where it's just the rubber breaking down. Or maybe sweat hastens this?

• @GamerBody
@GamerBody  6 місяців тому

I can't really tell. The connectors are all metal, and the sales page says so as well, but I dont know if that is for this bar, the other listed on the sales page, both? If feels very solid though, even when using the larger bands. I think there is a metal layer throughout, but the rubber covers it making it hard to really know without breaking down the bar completely.

• @GamerBody

Depends on the exercise. The bar is more comfortable for a lot of the movements, but I do think handles are great for some.

• @sinocelt
@sinocelt 6 місяців тому

@@GamerBody As I feared, I was unclear. I'll try again. For one-hand handles, you use J handles, but in one of your videos, you said they were a bit too long (not the hand part, the J part), so that they reduce your range of motion (for instance, if you squat, you need to get higher before the rubber bands even start stretching). I just thought that one-hand handles with very short triangle hooks (instead of a long J hook), like the triangle hooks on this bar, could solve this problem for you.
Still unclear? Very possibly. I've got quite the brain fog right now.

• @monkeyb1820
@monkeyb1820 6 місяців тому +1

@@sinocelt I think I can envision what you're saying. Perhaps a standard 'rectangle shaped' handle commonly used in gyms for cable crossovers, but with a triangle type of thing attached to the handle instead of a carabiner (which is then used to hook onto the cable loop). This would bring the bands a bit closer to the knuckles, but maybe only another 2" or so.

• @sinocelt
@sinocelt 6 місяців тому +1

@@monkeyb1820 Thank you, yes, "bringing the bands closer to the knuckles" was what I had in mind -- triangle hooks attached directly to the handles instead of a loop with a ring or a carabiner as is commonly used in gyms and with tube rubber bands.
I cannot post links here, but I can quote an Amazon review:
*The extra 6" changes things!*
I have gloves that I use with my loop resistance bands, but that's still not quite enough protection for pulling movements with very high resistance (deadlifts are what give me the most trouble), and these definitely make a big difference in comfort. With resistance band deadlifts, where your hands are already pretty close to your anchor point (your feet) at the starting position, and where I at least have to put some effort into tuning the starting resistance before each set to make sure it feels right, these handles make it even harder to get a relatively flat resistance curve, such that it's neither "too easy" at the beginning nor "too hard" at the end of the range of motion. This shouldn't usually be a problem for any movement where you're not anchoring your bands under your feet, since you can just move slightly farther from the anchor point and the resulting resistance curve will be pretty much identical to what you're used to, but it *will* potentially be a problem for movements where you don't have much choice but to anchor under your feet.
I think I'll keep using these for most of my compound pulling movements, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the deadlift mechanics in particular, which was the main lift where I really needed the handles, so I can't say it was an entirely satisfying purchase. It seems like it should be possible, or even downright logical, to make "shorter" handles that only add like 1 or 1.5 inches instead of 6 whole inches to your effective arm length (what's all that length even accomplish with this use case?), but I guess nobody sells yet.
• @GamerBody
@GamerBody  6 місяців тому +1

I think that could work. As long as the strength of the handle setup is fine, and it doesn't dig into your hands, it would be a good option. I'll keep my eyes out for anything like that.

** The TRUE Behind the Geku Bar **
Thank you for bringing attention to these flaws in the Geku bar, which appears to be a knockoff of my patent-pending F2 Bar. As an ex-competitive bodybuilder, personal trainer, and fitness consultant with over 30 years of experience, I intentionally designed the F2 Bar to address concerns that competitors couldn't duplicate.
Firstly, the hooks are knock of of my rtHooks. The rtHooks are designed for use with large flat bands. Second, the F2 Bar's "threaded" connector is longer, providing more grip and inner support, addressing weaknesses in sectional bars at the attachment joint. This design choice aimed to solve concerns related to the weakness of joints in sectional barbells, a common issue in childhood. Secondly, the added strength enables exercises like deadlifts and bench presses without concern for bar bending. Unlike the Geku, X3, or Harambee, the F2 Bar is intended for advanced athletes, allowing use on a real flat bench or in a cage with Olympic plates by adding the F2 Adapters.
Also, the Geku's attempt to connect hooks to the end is a replication of the modular F2 Bar Natural Rotation and rtHooks. While not a personal preference, I included this feature for those who favor aesthetics or enjoy using bands. The F2 Bar is specifically designed for real progressive resistance training, starting with bands and progressing to free weights with 2" Olympic plates.
Moreover, the F2 Bar is part of a larger system-the "F2 Training System"-consisting of modular fitness equipment, offering versatile all-in-one (thats why the product line is called ALLN-1) solutions for users seeking more exercise variations. Unlike the Geku bar, the F2 Bar is a component of a comprehensive system meant to help users learn various exercises from beginner to professional levels.
Unfortunately, inventors often face challenges when larger companies create cheap versions of their ideas. On a positive note, Muscle & Fitness recently featured an article about the F2 Adapters, showcasing their use with the F2 Bar. You can verify everything's I've shared by Googling "Muscle & Fitness F2 Adapters," checking the products being developed on my page or just doing Google patent search of "Variable resistance exercise band"
I'm in WA also, so if you want to try the original F2 Bar, just reach out!
Cheers,

I don't know patent law, guesinng you don't either. But nothing would surprise in this age of lies, and infantile behavior.

Anyone in EU find something? Looks like these keep selling out or X3 is jumping on top of it. The bar is awesome, but seems it is having trouble staying in stock.

Unfortunately, I do not know. I don't have any contact with the company, I just saw the bar on Amazon and bought it as it is an upgrade to my current option, and cheaper.

So glad other companies making products like these to benefit consumers who want to stay fit without getting ripped off. It’s a shame since it’s very simple design. Fake online Dr jaquish with his misleading marketing from x3 care nothing but his wallet will prevent selling similar product. I wish they didn’t name its color x3 cuz technically the design is different, even much better since length can be customized.

Yeah, I wish they didn't label it that way either. I wonder if X3 will move against them in some way for it (maybe if they get bigger).
