- Hey guys, today we're taking a look at the remaining Forerunner Monitors that are still functioning and alive in the Halo universe.
Next time we'll be discussing the idea of Halo 6 returning to a more isolated story, very reminscent of Combat Evolved, and parts of Halo 2, 3 & 4. It should be an interesting discussion, so be sure not to miss it!

If you think about it, Spark never betrayed anyone, he always followed protocol, and he never lied. He simply didn't tell details he thought the reclaimers already knew.
Chief did not surrender the activation index during an outbreak on 04. He then tried to destroy 04.
The covenant simply asked him a few questions, and protocol dictated he should answer.
Finally, Chief and Johnson were going to blow up the Arc. How was he supposed to respond?

I agree. In all honesty, chief and Johnson could have at least included him in the plan, because he may have known the protocol for the the worst case scenario, a flood invasion of the lesser ark and an unfinished ring. At least give him a chance to understand that what Chief and Johnson were doing may have been the best option.
I really love the AI in this universe. They're not all some big evil machine thats trying to kill someone. They are treated like real characters, and they actively switch sides. It's a very refreshing new take on AI tropes.

That was a different monitor. It was guardian for a separate thing that merged into the ring at unknown time.

@@is64611 highly unlikely. The forerunners made sure they got every ancient human possible. That and if it were ancient human 343 Guilty Spark(AKA Chakas, who was an ancient human) would've recognized the ships design.

Thanks :) It won't be the next one, but expect it over a few weeks. It's going to take a LOT of research and time because I won't just be talking about that ship, but loads of other really, really fringe information surrounding it.

HiddenXperia, Do you ever wonder if it perhaps was 343 Guilty Spark who released the flood in Halo 1? He tells chief, "someone" has released the flood, but as we know, Covenant don't have an easy time accessing Forerunner technology because they aren't Reclaimers. Perhaps in a moment of rampancy 343 GS released them in order to set events into motion, truly making him a "guilty" spark". Idk, maybe the canon states somewhere that the Covenant actually did it, but I find the Halo writers always put deeper meanings into their characters and names. Like maybe something was embedded into GS just like the Librarian stated with their thousands of years of planning, and the only way a species can be a "reclaimer" is by destroying or curing the flood. Librarian wanted humans to do it, Didact wanted Forerunners to do it, perhaps Cortana thinks the Created can do it and therefore will be Reclaimers themselves.

Why didn't Requiem have a monitor? I'd imagine the world that contains the last living Forerunner in our galaxy who was also commander of the entire Forerunner military would have had to extremely protected.

Iver 'Vhokuree Yes it would, but it's still not out of the question. If you've watched all the terminals throughout the game, you might remember the one where Guilty Spark was speculating to himself that he may have detected a planet with life on it, far from the ring. Even after stating aloud that the journey would take some 100,000 years, he still argues to himself whether or not he should abandon the ring and go explore the planet.
I found this topic very interesting but I am also very much looking forward to a video about the unknown ship that crashed on installation 04.

I remember playing halo ce-3 when I was like 7 and i remembered it as just being a shooter where your this awesome soldier that makes cool explosions, I recently played the entire halo series ( excluding the top down and Atari games ) and I now see the halo series In a much darker light and I think its amazing how halo can be seen in to completely different lights both being awesome in their own ways
The names of alien “things” in Halo have always fascinated me. Human “things” have practical or symbolic meanings obvious to humans in our time, but all the alien names are seemingly translated to “human” so all the names and words are just the closest translation, leading to really, really weird titles.
Penitent Tangent was awesome in his minute of screen time.

My favorite monitor is Penitent Tangent. Literally so far beyond failure that he's trapped in his own ring, so corrupted by the flood that he's flickering red, so long trapped in that state with nothing but A GRAVEMIND AND A PROPHET for company, and the first thing he does is urge Chief to eliminate the flood. My dude put up a better fight than Cortana and Mendicant Bias. NOT ONE SINGLE STUTTER, not one single doubt, not one shred of damage to his duty and service. Absolute Legend

It was one of the Covenant ships, not our current covenant but another species because.. they are the only aliens

Is there an official story on Chant To Green's current life/information?
Yes. Halo: Fractures covers where they went and heavily implies that she died of old age with the Iso in another galaxy. They both left their armor and chose to live normal lives and even had a child. But without their armor, their lifespan was cut short, and intentionally so.

From what I've been told and read Exuberant Witness went with the spartans onto the infinity and is assisting there though I think that's there way of explaining the war games narration.

My favorite monitor is Exuberant from Halo 5 for some reasons. One she's actually loyal, trust worthy, and actually helps out accessing some fore runner technology and teleported a tank to you after meeting her. Plus she is part of the Infinity via simulations if the req content of 3 extra voices like Exuberant Buck and a grunt wasn't clear already, and that she might help out in Halo 6 since I can bet she never witness so much chaotic action before and to get back to Cortana even though she regain full control of her installation.
Just discovered your channel. Didnt know how much I didnt know about halo war. Now Ive got years of vids go keep my busy for a while.
Exuberant Witness definitely needs more backstory. She is such a fun character. She made me chuckle. She's so full of whimsy, similar to Guilty Spark but without the absolute madness and self obsession. She just seems like a very curious, friendly, and helpful little machine. She just wants her facility to remain intact and does not wish have any greater wish than to observe the universe as it is. She doesn't like change, but seems happy to meet sentient beings. Her entire time with Osiris was nothing but cordial and she was content to just sit back and provide them with whatever they needed to accomplish their mission. She didn't want Cortana to assume The Mantle, which considering the few other Foreigners and their machines we have met have all been strict adherents to a greater goal, makes her unique as far as we know. She's just happy to putter around on genesis and observe.

Given how well we know 343's personalty, damaged or not. We know that the monitors can be swayed by way of their wants. Bribing doesn't seem out of question, as long as you know the specific monitors purpose.
My personal favourite would have to be The Knowing. There's something about the idea of an entity that holds such a large amount of information.
came back to this since infinte is so close to release I do hope we get somthing on zeta halos monitor I doubt we will see him given the current situation and our track record of blowing up halos
