Great job saving the shaker trim ring! Don’t loose those PALnuts with the integrated washer, they are not reproduced! They did have some mastic black sealant on them when originally installed, I’d recommend you do that in final assembly as it stops/ slows leaks into shaker rubber gasket and also allows some flex in the hood without snapping the pot metal trim ring studs.

Food for thought when bushings are a little tight. Try some petroleum jelly. It won't hurt rubber or polyurethane .

When you bought a new hood in 1970 it came with a paper template for cutting the hole for the shaker.

Wow, thanks for making this. I am hopefully about to get a new hood tonight and have an original shaker to go on it, but need to cut the hole, its daunting to think about! Thanks!

You used the word frustration, sounds like you have eventual limits on your patience. Another step completed with another on the horizon. Well done.

Looks good. I was hesitant on cutting the hole in z new hood when I did my 65. Just have to take it slow and think about it.

That's a good idea for cutting the hole. And you could paint the calipers Ford Blue, I did that to mine ! You funky white boy!!

You already had a pattern. The hood is junk so you could have cut the scoop area out and there's your pattern with center lines and hole locations built in. Unless you have a lan for a totally junk hood.

I am curious as to why the front suspension is new or restored and the rear suspension is as it was?

The original plan was for me to take care of the front. I will not be finishing this car.

Why not just put a little spot of paint on the tip of each threaded stud, then just set it in place and all of your holes are exactly correct?

That works if you measure out 2 start points.

You still need it in the exact location.

The difference is, on the assembly line, they probably had 10 people working on the car. You're just one person.

Your hand slipped into an old nylon stocking works better.
