must be the frame pace. The game can run at 30 frames per second, but if the pace is messed up, you get a small window between frames that gives you that sensation of lagging... Shows how heavy the game is rn, if ps5 and xsx are struggling to run it at 30, oh boy its heavy hahaah

Ps3 had a lot of power but due to the complexity of the Cell processor, developers couldn't use all of the resources the ps3 could offer, resulting in poor framerate. You can observe this in games like Call of Duty Black Ops. Game apparenlty runs at 640p on ps3 with framedrops down to 30-40fps on certain maps while on XB360 it runs and even looks better. Explanation for this is that on PS3 the game is only running on one CPU core. Yep. Series X is really powerful. The fps drops really just depend on how terrible the game optimization is.

The only plus of VRR for an unsupported game is that the TV runs at 120hz even if there is 60 or less FPS. FPS is still the same though! Then VRR helps when the fps fluctuates below a given value. The difference is not so noticeable. I have tried it in practice with several games.

I would bet on a more stable 30fps After some patch.
