happy 2021 everyone 🤍 I hope you had a wonderful holiday. I received several questions on how I mix anime skin tones for my studio ghibli gouache paintings. today I'm gonna show you a quick snippet of my paint mixing process for skin tones and shades of nudes using gouache. I'm not the best at explaining, neither is this the 'correct' way to mix colours because I mostly go with the flow :) then again, there is no right or wrong way to paint. either way, I hope this video helps you start with mixing skin colours.

think of it like a part of self care routine
Ify and whenever try to everything would just frustrates me
1:57 --> shades that will be used for the colors
The skin tone shades are from lightest to darkest
2:26 --> preview 3:15 (lightest)
3:29 --> preview 4:16
4:30 --> preview 6:39
6:56 --> preview 8:12
8:27 --> preview 10:24
10:36 --> preview 12:04
12:19 --> preview 14:08
14:21 --> preview 16:32 (darkest)

Cheers to you for not making the mistake of buying a bunch of expensive supplies before even getting started! That’s what I did when I started and I ended up wasting so much money because my skill frankly wasn’t there and supplies make such a minor difference compared to skill level.
Don’t buy expensive stuff until ur ready! Star little by little! I started with colored pencils from Walmart and now I’m using professional paints and sometimes draw my family! It’s like being a beginner in singing, don’t go out of your way to buy a $170 microphone set because it will be useless since your not ready! Always start little!
Same, I'm using water colours that my parents brought me when I was 5 , but the most important part is that it works!!!

AlishaAnimations * the quicker you stop being afraid and make ugly drawings, the quicker you'll improve! Mistakes are part of art and are crucial for creating a good piece of artwork

@@Buzzzy-bee "It is ok to make ugly art." When we get rid of this weight ("you must do only beautiful and stunning art"), we can try and try without fear and it will make us improve and go out of our comfort zone...
Don't be scared, you'll be fine! Draw whatever you want and whatever makes you happy. Also, it's ok to have breaks or art block... Just don't force yourself :))

What a coincidence! Today I took a big step in my art for I finally got the courage to start painting portraits and realized, not surprisingly, that I would have to learn how to mix skin tones. So I was randomly scrolling my UA-cam notifications as I thought about that and found your video. I have the 24 set of the himi gouache and theres a lovely peach colour already in the pallete i use with white as a base then adjust accordingly. Its a nice start to have :)
