After I matured and had some work experience, I found out many of my ideals were wrong. When I was a lib I found it easy to blame wealthy people and loved the idea of the government taking their money and giving it to me. That seems to be a liberals great plan. Not sure what 3 people clapping has to do with anything, but GG regularly out scores Kimmel & Fallen & has topped Colbert several times. Not bad for a new show and his ratings continue to rise. BTW, if you watched the show that evening you would know there was no studio audience, it wasn't started until later in the year.

@@samuelfreeman2452 It's a curious thought experiment.... Bezos wasnt born into any sort of money. His mother was still in High School when he was born, his father less than a year after graduating. Spent alot of time during childhood working on his grandpa's ranch in Texas. His degrees are in electrical engineering from Princeton. By any account, a very pedestrian upbringing. Someone with that kind of pedigree doesn't align with what you'd expect someone who is very illiberal and is radically opposed to workers rights and is even on record expressing an active dislike of working class people. His background is wildly out of sync with that outcome. Let's assume that Mark Zuckerberg also fits this profile similarly. The question is, at what point in a person's meteoric rise from the bottom to the top does it all go off the rails? What's the influence that could cause a person to radically reverse on the belief system that should have been installed based on their childhood experience?

In answer to your first question, it seems that the point at which an ordinary person starts "going of the rails," as you put it, is the point where they decide that it is easier to gain power, influence, or money by metaphorically "pulling the ladder up behind them." It happens in every industry where people of the wrong temperament gain substantial influence - which is to say every industry.
As to what influence causes it to go to the extremes of Bezos and Zuckerberg - I would assume it's a product of multiple things. Wrong temperament, the globally significant amount of influence they were endowed with at such an exaggerated pace, peer and employee pressures, investor influence or lack thereof, internal resentment over personal histories (perhaps bullying and/or abuse were defining aspects of both in childhood), lack of belief in a higher moral authority (or belief in a higher power that devalues personal freedoms), and even governmental pressures (which could be the higher power they ascribe to on a psycho-religious level).
I'm sure there are even conspiracy theories that could explain it (blackmail principally), but as they aren't necessarily proven, the deeper psychological issues - the "why" - that would make fertile ground for such pressures are more important than the "how" at this point.

But the company will pass a point at which competition becomes so ferocious that you have to cross the line, or risk being destroyed by your competitor who was willing to do things you wouldn't. And that after some time, and having compromised your values enough, the way is lost. Plausible. I suppose. Zuckerberg's brand of tyranny, and Jack's as well, I don't even know if I can verbalize where this feeling comes from, but to me, it just feels like it's born out of self-righteous indignation than a quest for power. In both Jack and Mark's cases, I believe that they both truly believe in their hearts that they are doing a good thing and society is better for it. And are absolutely oblivious to the harm they're causing. Perhaps just my opinon.
Bezos I'd say is thr most likely to fit the conspiracy model and probably is a personal quest that got co-oped by the government. For all intents and purposes, Bezos is a modern-day conqueror, of equal comparison to Ghengis Khan and Alexander the Great. He just fights on a modern day battlefield and doesn't have to stab anybody. But either right before, or as a direct result because of Amazon being awarded the contact to manage the CIAs cloud service, that the government reached in and smashed any moral or ethical principles he still had left. If he wasn't on the take before that contract then the CIS most certainly decided to turn him after he'd got the contract. No way they'd trust the nation's secrets to someone that they weren't positive was willing to play ball.

That's actually more common than people think. If you are doing something controversial, just throw out accusations of the same behavior at those who might oppose you. It seems amoral, but it works. You just have to look and sound convincing, acting from moral high ground.

@Dixie Normous What comments Dixie? From all accounts, she just plays the videos? I have never seen them...however, the "right" way to take any action is through the courts and peacefully. However, just like you and I, what we put out there can come back to bite you...the internet is unforgiving.
@Dixie Normous They shouldn't posted the videos if they didn't wan to get exposed. Libs of tiktok literally plays the video un edited no additional commentary just letting them speak. The only anger and hatred was the ones making the videos in the first place talking about how certain people need to be destroyed or being ok with grooming kids. What you fail to understand is if this can happen to one private citizen and be ok then it can happen to you. Let's say for argument sakes some reporter didn't like a comment you made and Doxxed you? Would that be ok? You're just practicing your free speech just like how she was showing off people practicing their free speech. Who cares if we was memeing on them?
