Love your reasonable approach to the world of perfume and perfume sampling/collecting/learning/comparing/living. It's refreshing to find a corner of social media that is like I'm hanging out with a gal I just met and we're talking fragrance as a common thread. Happy Birthday and can't wait to hear more of your recent sniffs!
Hello !! Happppy Birthday!! I am 71 going on 72 Jan1 … so glad I have my perfume interest and I love hearing your comments! You definitely have a different way of talking about them ! I really enjoy your thinking !!
Hello, Celeste here, using my hubby's computer again. Happy Happy Birthday! How exciting! I think getting older is fun! I love your channel! I look forward to it every week. I am sitting in my living room alone, it's dark and cool, and I am sipping some hot coffee. All my kids are doing their own thing. I'm having my break watching your video! I love perfume oils. I buy from my local shops on Etsy. Have a great weekend!
Hi there! New to your channel and so glad I found it. I think we both might be in Indy! Fellow fragrance lover, too. Happy 50th! I'm so jealous of your Reminiscence Patchouli, btw!
Happy Birthday! I’m 5 years behind you, but I had my boys at 37 and 40 so they’ll be 13 and 10 when I reach a half century (I’m just beyond grateful to have them). I just received a sample of Couture-Couture, so I’m looking forward to trying it out. It’s also interesting that you say Khamrah isn’t super close to Angel’s Share, most people say they are. This is good for me because I find Angel’s Share smells watered-down to me (like spiced apple juice or cider that’s thinned out with water). I don’t enjoy it. Looking forward to trying Khamrah!
Happy big 50!!!! I don't mind getting older at all! In fact I look back at my youth and feel like, wow, it was really hard to be young! A lot of things are somehow better now that I'm older. It's great to find out because society tells us (especially women) that life is so downhill after 25. 🤣😂🤣 So glad to see the opposite is true! Club #5 I'm a lifelong member! La Vie est Belle IS fantastic. Chantilly makes me physically ill but Couture Couture is very nice and I agree there's like a grapey note in there. It's an unusual fragrance. Great vid as always!
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉 I joined the 50 club several months, life is good :) I just wanted to let you know I've been enjoying your videos, and congrats on 1k+ subscribers.
Happy belated birthday! Couture couture always smelled like grapefruit and amber to me. When I was looking through the ingredients, I found the same one can be used for grape OR grapefruit notes. Ever since then, I’ve smelled the grape smell too. It’s one of the only perfumes where I have legitimately been complimented by strangers. So, the sillage must be pretty special on that one. Glad you liked it!
New subscriber here. I love your videos, your approach to perfume and your taste! I love Khamrah Quhwa. I think it's so classy and beautiful with great depth. My daughter has mistaken it for Billie Eilish. I am definitely not a fan of Burberry Goddess. Was wondering if it was me? lol The "mushroom" note is spot on. I passed on a travel spray to my daughter. Shalimar was the only scent I could wear after my daughter's birth. Takes me right back to that time. I had that batwing bottle and it was too smoky and leathery..not what I remember. Now I realize my grandmother had given me her bottle of Shalimar cologne. I'll look for that as I donated my batwing bottle. :(
Happy Birthday! 🥳🎂🎈🎉 So many newer scents now smell similar or at least not unique enough to justify the prices. I’m all about dupes, vintage cheapies, and buying secondhand or off the grey market. The only fragrance I’ve really splurged on recently was a huge 6.7 oz bottle of Coco Mademoiselle. I know that fragrance isn’t very special to some, but it’s nostalgic for me and I wanted a huge bottle to last me forever and to be certain it was authentic. I get a strange “mint toothpaste” undertone to Angel’s Share that I don’t like. I like Khamrah, but don’t think it smells like Angel’s Share. It smells better. Was that Shalimar you showed the EDT or EDP?
I believe it’s an EDT, but I’m not positive. I bought it used and the bottle says Guerlain made in France copyright 2000. I believe mine was originally part of a set.
@@MyPerfumeMap thanks. I’ve heard some people say that the EDT smells different from the EDP. I’ve only smelled the EDP, which is what I own. I think the EDT is supposed to have less of that rubber tire effect.
I just smelled it last week, ❤️ LOVE. Tom Ford’s Noir Extreme for men is wildly addictive too 😍. There was a woman’s version but they smelled exactly the same. It’s rich spicy ambery vanilla. It’s supposed to have a Kulfi note, a creamy frozen East Indian dessert. I’ve not had that, but the perfume is delicious and complex.
Angels Share has a very specific smell to me. If you’ve ever baked an apple pie and accidentally burnt the crust… the smell of that thickened apple pectin that’s bubbled up out of the pie onto the crust and then burnt there. THAT is the smell! So for me the smell association is that of failure 😂, failure to cover my pie crust.
I just turned 50 too….. the end of September. I got Jasmin Wisp, Rare Tiffany, Ansaam Gold, Casablanca, Modest Deux ( I LOVE MIDDLE EASTERN PERFUMES ) and I also got Guess Seductive Red and Elizabeth Taylor White Diamonds en Rouge. Happy late birthday!!

I'm 58 and I was inspired by the wonderful commentary on aging, as well. Truly appreciated.
