The Giggle is a Great Finale, But… | Doctor Who Episode Review

- Опубліковано 12 гру 2023
- The 60th anniversary have finally come to an end with the release of The Giggle. This episode saw not only the introduction of the 15th Doctor and the return of The Toymaker, a villain from the classic series, but a historical change to the cannon of timelords. So much happened in this episode, so I am here to break it down into what worked and didn't.

From how i understood it, the bi-generation thing is some timey-wimey thing, because one of 15s lines implies that he's the way he is because 14 got better over time
It did seem like that but it just doesnt sit right with me as of now.
I agree about Ncuti birthing Tennant.
It would have changed the comedic quality of the scene, but it would have felt more legit.
Yea, it probably would have taken away from the comedy but would have fitted the bigeneration concept more I believe.
I like the idea that they could start the spinoff pretty quickly centring around Donna and have Tennant's Doctor play a minimal role, at least at first.
Yea it could be cool, I personally hope they wait until Ncuti gets going to make that, but cant wait for it when they do.
With donnas note-translation scene, it helped me rationalize it with the second special talking about ms bean the music teacher so much. It felt like it set up that she has a good bit of music knowledge (at least enough to see basic notes in something)
That is a fair enough point. I completely over looked that but that probably was intentional
I hated that we had to get specials with tennant returning as a new incarnation (wanted Ncuti after Jodie), but I was fine with it occurring, what I'm 100% not fine with was Bigen, it feels dirty to me that RTD makes a big point of moving on and then still manages to keep tennant around in a way that not only is really ridiculous but also just removes the point of any previous regeneration (since RTD confirmed it affects past doctors too)
I'm happy they doubled down of the timeless child, I love that twist and I'm happy to see it stick around
I feel very similar to you. For me though, I thhink bigen as a concept can kind of work if explained better but I wish it wasnt with tennant as it does feel like a fail safe. If they did it with say Jodie or something, many people wouldnt see it as that.
I didn’t really like the bi-generation thing for the same reasons, mainly the copy thing you spoke of. I love David like so many, but I really enjoy Ncuti and don’t love that it does feel like his isn’t THE DOCTOR but a copy.
It really does. Its a shame really because im really excited for his stuff
hopefully the bi regeneration was a clever way to sweep the timeless child nonsense under the rug.
It could be used for that yaa
@@TheLaneDWthat didnt happen..moffata likes the timeless child ans uses it to give 15 and Ruby some more conection.
