- Why your ex might trick you to break no contact. Your ex will try to trick you to break no contact! If you are in No Contact, you may be confused on how to move forward, especially if you feel that your ex may be provoking you to reach out to them. In this video, we discuss if your ex may be trying to trick you into breaking No Contact and how to handle this situation.
Coach Craig and Margaret will help you stay strong and not fall for your ex tricking you into breaking no contact. Your ex will often reach out with an indirect/direct approach (which you could consider breadcrumbs). By understanding their maneuver, you can prepare yourself and use this to your advantage and help get them back.
Sometimes an ex will will trick you into breaking no contact in order to ease soothe their separation anxiety, that they can still get you back (if they want). Sometimes they do this because they want to keep you as a backup, or because part of them still wants to be with you.
However, it will not help your position to reach out..
An ex trying to get you to break no contact is not enough for you to reach out.
You only hurt your chances of getting them back by reassuring them that they still have you as an option without having to even contact you. If they do reach out to you, then don't ignore them. Respond makes sense in that situation. But if they haven't made any direct contact to YOU, if it's just breadcrumbing (or a trick) from your ex, then you should ignore it.

Sometimes it’s not courage. It’s because they are afraid of getting close to someone who wants them. It’s scary when it gets real and you express your vulnerability to them. Too much responsibility for them to handle. Messed up childhood where their parents don’t really show their kid unconditional love.

I mean sure, I also wouldn't take my ex back, but I also wouldn't tell it to a complete stranger with absolutely no clue of their situation to do the same. What if their ex wasn't such a spineless monster as my ex? I cannot know that. But I do know thanks to coaches like Craig, that the best relationships are the ones that survived a breakup. Because those people know how it is to live without eachother and so they value eachother more.

I needed to watch this video and remember with an avoidant she has a lot going on that’s not my fault. I need to soothe myself and stay patient. You guys are the best!
After 2 months my ex keeps on checking my fb stories once a week, exactly 4 times by now. Im not gonna contact her.. 3 months of NC and I feel so much better. Physically in good shape (bought some work out equipments since were still in quarantine and I cant go to gym) and financially growing, also been reading books / write ups about healthy romantic relationships. About a week ago, he made a work video that had a photo of the both of us in the intro.
A previous time, he snagged one of my scenic photos to use as his cover photo on his social media.
And the more nebulous like posting songs or making memes with double meanings.
My ex definitely sent an indirect direct message to me earlier this month. I read the message but I got so annoyed and angry so I ignored it.

Well here is my story, my ex ghosted me New Year’s day after five years of a relationship. After five months of no contact he one day he contacted me and asked me to forgive him etc. and said he misses me and loves me and asked me to come back to him he he did not put his toe in the water but his whole foot LOL. After seven hours I texted him back but never said yay or nay but we have no contact anymore. My feelings for my ex have faded away to my surprise because I did love him very much!

About 6 months with NC and after I told him I was blocking him, he looked at my LinkedIn knowing I was going to see that he did. I never reciprocated because I didn’t want to start any communication, especially if he is not going to apologize.

My ex contacted me wanting a photo of him and his family from a trip we all went on 9 months ago.... which we broke up after that trip, and specified he was not interested in reconnecting. At first I laughed because why would I have this photo, it's been so long. Then I got upset because I found his message so rude and condescending (as if I want to get back together) so I decided to be mature and just tell him I have no photos to which he rudely responded of course you deleted them. He's dating someone new, but I found the whole thing strange. I felt embarrassed for him and I could sense his anger but his anger is not my fault or concern. So sometimes, these breakups show you someone's true colors and being single while dating to find what you deserve is great:)
Amazing how I just stumbled upon this video. My ex of 4 months ended it with me as he was very non-committal. 5 weeks later (of NC), he texted and used the excuse that he had picked something up for me (but never actually asking to meet up). I didn’t bite, I simply thanked him. After another 3.5 weeks, he finally came direct and asked to meet and we both kept it friendly and cordial. 4 weeks later, he asked to meet again for my bday. Again, friendly and cordial. Another 2 weeks later, asked if I would “be around” if he dropped by my neighborhood but after I gave him a time that I’d be available, he then turned the tables and said “he’d let me know”. I cancelled the meet altogether as I felt him being so indirectly direct is a form of toying with me. There’s this push-pull vibe I’m getting from him. This happened very recently.

The update to this is that we are just friends. He was using me as a pawn to get his ex jealous (sounded like she fell out of love with him) and he is very much emotionally unavailable. He was with his XW for almost 30 years and I can see that coming out of the divorce, it was as if he lost his right arm. In all my years of dating, I have never experienced this level of confusion from a man as I have experienced with him! He is a deeply wounded man and seeing a counselor post divorce did not seem to help him process the pain. No bueno, no-go. Abort mission!

He used breadcrumbing to try to trick me into breaking no contact. But my self-love is stronger than my desire to want to be with him so yeah, not falling for those tricks.
I kind of moved on but the only thing I noticed is my ex is liking my friend's photos, while she still follows me on instagram too but never likes any of my posts (not making a big deal out of it, its just funny right?). Granted, it could literally mean nothing but if she is trying to make me jealous, thats kinda not working, I did scratch my head though. I'll never reach out to her after I already did that 3 times after we broke up (2 weeks after the breakup was when I stopped, and it wasnt even me trying to manipulate her I was just concerned for her mental and physical health) and I am letting her reach out if she wants to. I talk to other girls, I have set a date with one already and I am not waiting like an idiot.

On day 30 of full NC (I blocked him on FB messenger and text) he messaged two FB group messages that I'm in. Both have only me, him and his best friend. I know it was some kind of breadcrumb for me. He didn't even say anything, he sent a GIF to each group. I responded to his friend who wrote something, but didn't acknowledge his GIFs. That was 5 days ago, nothing since. I guess he was testing the waters? If he had actually said something or addressed me I would've responded. But the GIF was obviously looking to see if I would break NC.
My ex videocalled me yesterday at 2.30 in the night, two weeks into silence, it didn't ring so I didn't hear it, I think maybe she miss clicked? She didn't say anything either... What do I do coach, I'm a guy without money for email advice sadly but I've watched almost 80 videos of you! You're work is the best.

My issue is complicated. She reached out, but due to the fact that she has narcissistic traits, it was to Insult me over the fact of communicating with someone else in the same country where she lives. She accused me of trying to use that person to move there. Which was never my intention. I had however previously over a month ago Sent her an email apologizing for the mistakes I made last year, which I clearly recognized by now, and apologized hoping that would give her an opportunity to heal. So when she reached out to me because that other person had communicated with her she told me I had lied to her, but she didn't have all the facts. Even as she insulted me I told her that's not the case, and that was not my intention. Then she said it was late and she was tired and then I agree to end the conversation and then in her language told her goodnight and God bless you. After she read my last message to her she blocked me again. It really boggles my mind that in a Global pandemic someone can still act this way. Any brief helpful reply will be appreciated. Thank you.

I’m 2 months nc and I used to always ask my ex to post about us on social media. I just wanted a simple birthday post, to feel as though he wanted to show me off and is proud of me. Never did. He was never active on social media: a scroll and a couple likes here and there, lucky if he posted once a month or in a few months. Now all of a sudden he’s posting a story every day on all social media platforms, is this his breadcrumb? This is the second time we’ve broken up due to bad communication on his part. I would always communicate what I needed and asked what he needed to which he always responded, “I’m happy baby, I love you”. How am I supposed to fix an issue I’m not even aware of?
Your client's girl (eh hem, ex) strikes me as someone who has projected onto him what she herself actually needs, namely a platform of "independence." (The relationship probably commenced from a place of dependence [on him] and thus felt less authentic [to her] than it would have felt if she'd appealed to him while functioning independently ...or, as it were, made her feel less special than she craves to feel.)
This idea of her explains two things. One thing it explains is her stated emphasis on wanting "him" to be independent, as suggested above. The other thing it explains is her reaction (how she recoiled) to his having advanced on her too quickly (by "tagging" her).
I think she's keeping him on a tether only so that he approaches her (woos her) in the way a man would when meeting someone new. The passing, surface interest of other suitors aims only at "establishing" her as, indeed, independent in both her own eyes and your client's, and probably does so largely unconsciously.
I think if he cools his heels and looks at things this way, and then uses a careful strategy which accounts for her need to be approached as though they'd never met, he'll be able to win her. I think he needs to look at it as winning her, not winning her back.
He would go months with out even asking about our son. All the sudden he would "miss his son" only to get to me to reel me back in
Im was wife no 5. 3 months no contact. Divorce case 16 Oct. Deleted his no, blocked him/friends on Fb. His is a narc. After 7 years of abuse/ alcohol/smoking canabis ext, Im done. He left without a explination. Will never speak to him again. Healing is hard

@@charles-kim.travels I think you should wait some hours or even a day before replying. And also breadcrumbs aren't necessarily attempts at reconciliation. I've read about dozens of reconiciliations that had prior breadcrumbs for months. So don't worry, she might give you another breadcrumb later. Just don't give her any more attention she gives you.

Might they try to trick you by provoking you too? Mine did something that could be taken as trying to show how he’s trying to move on or by simply trying to hurt me. His previous exes would’ve messaged him angrily right away. I wondered if it could also be considered trying to trick me?
What about a bill being paid in her name that was at my place? She got mad when I told her I’ll think about it. I know now when we was still together she was bread crumbing me until she found some one else I think. I know she dating around but not looking into it no more, need my sanity. I wish I could afford to do a session with you. The love of my life broke up with me a month ago. I am in no contact for 2 weeks. She calls me once a week. And my anxiety goes threw the roof. Where it sounds like I'm short or upset with her. I truly am not. But I know how it comes across. I have since put myself into counseling and see them once a week. I know the things I need to fix for myself. And it will make a difference in any relationship I am in in the future. Hopefully my ex. I want to note. I got married at 18. Divorced at age 30. This break up is worse than ending a 12 year marriage.

People love people the most, who know exactly how to hurt them like their mother did subconsciously. Subconsciously, because you are not aware of it, and because you were a child at the time.
The more intense the pain = The more that has been revealed for you to heal and learn about yourself.

hurt yes, but always want her to be happy but selfish part of me is hoping that it’s just because she saw me posting about a party and wanted to show she’s doing good after the breakup as well.
Tip for the future: don’t post yourself with other women, partying, etc. Post authentic things that you enjoy doing either on your own or with others! It’s going to make a much greater impression than something that could be viewed as a jab at her (even if it’s not intended to be). I’m not saying to completely cater posts to her, if anything I say live your life and show your happiness on social media. But don’t cater your content to spark jealousy either bc I guarantee you that will backfire in your face more often than not.

I’m 6 weeks into no contact after begging and pleading for like 2 weeks when he just ignored me. Basically I wanted more after 2 1/2 years and he was tired of hearing it. And I called him out on a bunch of scenarios where he’s lied to me and I’ve heard he was in town and taking other girls out. He was classic emotionally unavailable guy.

Just recently, the private snapchat story thing happened with me during no contact. I've never seen this before and wondered why she added me after about 2 weeks of not communicating with me. Edit: last time she did this she made excuse after excuse as to why she couldn’t make it. I view this tactic she uses as a breadcrumbing method.

My ex sent me an expensive birthday gift to me, but she had my brother give it to me (they live together) she had the gift before my birthday but didnt wish me a happy birthday. So i thanked her for the gift and she was very friendly so i said we should catch up and she said yes but shes been busy with her move and unpacking. But she hasnt said anything since and that was 3 weeks ago. Im confused. Why the expensive gift, and why didnt she jump on the idea of hanging out?
Broke no contact after over 3 months of nc , and going strong at that. Accidentally caught a glimpse of her social media , where she appeared sad and distraught. Somehow that made me think , that perhaps she was anxious about reaching out to me , so I messaged her.
The response was as cold and distant as ever.
Went back to no contact going for about two months now. Going pretty strong actually , I don’t feel nearly as bad as in the beginning and some of my friends even noticed how competent at communication and emotions I have become.
In a way it was even helpful , because now I am 100% sure , that not contacting her is a right thing to do.
So, can I ask, has the sadness left so far for you?
Marsha Rowaihy well , not fully , I wouldn’t say. But I think I’ve gotten past that terrible period in the beginning , where it’s mind-numbingly painful and they’re all you think about. I miss her and get sad every now and again , but I’m certainly not sitting here praying for her to reach out.
One Step at a Time which one is worse. i reached out to my ex, he was friendly but i know he was just being nice because i was sick at that time. he told me quite much about how he was doing but i sense he was just being platonic so i stop replying to him. platonic convo is the worst because it shows no emotion & feeling, so clearly send the message that they’ve moved on
Do you really think they miss you especially if they replaced you while still together? Been one year and they are still together. I contacted him as I left something there. I totally forgot about. He was gruff in his text and said he had nothing to say and would leave it outside. I replied I don't know what gave you the indication I wanted to talk. I just wanted to retrieve the item and was cordial in my request and wished him well. I just asked if the item was still there as I wanted it as it was an item my grandchild mention. I wanted to refurbish it for her as it had memories attached for her. Hell telemarketers are nicer than what I got! Lol! Again I doubt he misses me. Guilt must be hard for someone who is dishonest and hurts someone.
Does asking for stuff back apply as an indirect direct approach? My ex did this yesterday. We had season tickets to a college football game so he asked if I could send him his ticket otherwise I could sell it and he’ll buy his own himself.
I ran into my ex’s father at the gym. Been 1.5 years no contact. A day or so later his daughter unblocks photos of us together on Facebook. Turns out she had them the whole time. A breadcrumb? Maybe. But I’m continuing forward regardless

Today is the 28th my bf broke up with me about a month ago. I gave him until the 30th to move out. He sleeps on the sofa. My heart is torn. This breakup came out of left field. He really feels that we are not compatible and feels that there is no working it out as it’s pointless. I’m 46 he’s 37. He says he unhappy, miserable. All the bickering started when the pandemic started. He has checked out of this relationship and it hurts like hell to see him everyday here interacting with my kids like things are normal. He just asked for two more weeks as he cannot find a place he can afford. We’ve only been together (or we’re together) for two years. How can I do No Contact when he still lives here. I wasn’t ready for this breakup. But 28 days later, I’m coping as best I can.

She reached out a third time but now to my mom. After they'd been talking behind my back, she e-mailed me and she wrote she loved me, wanted a future with me and that she'd been talking with my mom about getting back together with me. When we got talking, the first thing she says is she's been having sex with tons of guys and telling me graphic details about it. I hadn't begged, pleaded or looking at her social media since the breakup and now all of that was for nothing. This was one month ago now and ever since she said those stuff to me I've been feeling alot worse, so before you answer a reachout, ask yourself if it's really worth it. I didn't and now I can't ever get better.

@@smores8982 Well I’m not healed. I have ptsd from that and can’t sleep anymore. Everyday is about life or death now. She hoovered several more times. I have like 30 unread mails which I refuse to read and reply. Me and my family had to block her everywhere. She really is insane. Can’t say Craigs videos here has helped at all in this situation. Only channels that deals with people with npd has helped.

You clearly need to be strong 💪 for your children. It doesn't matter what he tells others. You carry yourself like a Lady, and let him stew in his own mess. Find a good Christian ✝️ Church, which will help 🙏 support you and the children with love. Prayers are never ignored by our Father God. Jesus Loves children ❤. He will strengthen and guide you. It's taking me 3 years to get over the pain, but I am 10 times stronger and happier alone. Think about the welfare and safety of your children first. They see everything and they remember. Okay so my girlfriend of 3.5 years broke up with me a little over 3 weeks ago. I’ve been no contact for a little over 2 weeks. The reasoning for the breakup gives off strong “grass is greener syndrome” vibes. What confuses me is that she constantly likes my tweets and retweets even though I don’t like anything she posts on any platform. One thing i realized about my ex, she never cared to update her instagram when we were together, never cared about social media. We've been broken up a year, i dont follow her private account, but the only thing she does update is her profile picture(the only thing i CAN see). The latest profile pic is blatantly her trying to look as attractive as possible, so much so that she looks a bit ridiculous. it makes me laugh. If she unconsciously wants me to react to how pretty she's making herself look, she better remember she told me to get lost, and that i heard her loud and clear. :)

After 2 months of no contact i was waiting for the bus at the bus station and my ex saw me and started talking to me after avoiding me during this time suddenly she decided to reach out. I still don't plan on texting her.

What the hell is happening? I don't even post anything on instagram and i stopped liking her posts after she broke up with me.

Today is Day 133 of No Contact. My ex bday was on Day 130. I gave her the best gift ever which was the gift of missing me 😆🤣🤣😆 but the subsequent days have sucked since she was posting those pics on her WhatsApp statuses.
