We're over on An Thuong 29..there's a bunch of serviced apartments and hotels. We have a 2 bdrm/1 ba, Wi-fi, 2 large SMART TVs, 5 gal water delivery (20k), housecleaning 1x week, washer AND dryer, full kitchen, fully furnished and 2 blks to beach for $450 USD/Month.
@tylerowen8728 It's a serviced apartment and hotel. We arrived and stayed at a hotel for about 5 days to settle in and used the time to walk around and look at apartments to price compare and see the location. We wanted to be near markets, restaurants, atm, and taxi pickup area (so being near big hotels help with this).
@jackbaldwin3649 Our 2 bedroom is $450 USD/Month....Most 2 bdrms should run $400 to $700. If you get into the newer construction buildings, they will price gouge you for $800 or more. The challenge is a lot of travellers compare the price to their home country and end up accepting a price higher than local market price which just drives up the rental prices. Once landlords can get people to pay $800 or more, they push that as the new rate. Studios should run $150 to $200+/ month, 1 bd = $200 to $350+, 2 bdrms $400 to $700+...etc.
Not sure they are getting 'ripped off', price seems reasonable for booking via airbnb. If they book their next booking direct with the owner/manager (as they will know have their contact details) they will likely be able to give them a better price as they will have reduced fees :) of course if also renting long term and via an agent on the ground or direct, the rent will be less (but usually will be excluding bills)
$500 is on the higher side, but part of the problem is AirBNB. I recommend that you land for a few weeks and start seeing and negotiating with local landlords if possible, otherwise use an agent.
Airbnb is expensive. If you book for a month the fees are pretty high. I understand that you booked with them, but there is a way how you can catch the private number of the owner. I think it's better that the locals get the money and not the owners in the US. Another option is that you just take a look to the homestays. The prices on AirBnb and on booking are the foreign prices. You even can get it cheaper.
you said in the video in the US you have to pay much more per rent, but think about how much is the salary in vietnam. 500 usd are 2 times of the income per month@@tylerowenfit
Yes I understand. So earning an income from the USA makes this a very cheap price to pay even though it is high for the local income level. Do you understand this?@@andrephilipp
And this is a mistake to think in American prices. I am from Austria and this country is not cheap in Europe. But I can't compare the apartment prices to Austria in Vietnam. The apartments something like you had costs normally 70-100 usd per month for vietnams sometimes lesser. Just stop to book with airbnb and you get a huge different price which one could be not 500 usd but you could pay 250-300 usd. I travel 5 years and mostly I found the number of the owner of the host on airbnb and I paid mostly 30-50% lesser than on the airbnb price. mostly 30% but 50% lesser also happened. Hopefully I could help you with this information. @@tylerowenfit

I'd like to see you do something on transportation and getting around. Is leasing a Motorbike or Vehicle a not too expensive option? How is it driving over there, etc.??
That price is about right for an Airbnb, but if you were renting that place, it'd be about $200 a month. Based on your window view, it looks like you live on the airport/city side of river. When I rent a AirBnB, basic items are expected. Really they complained you thought the soap was included? It's frustrating that hosts, particularly those in foreign countries, don't realize the expectations of guests. They are competing with hotels, this idea you are going to go out and get linens,....full bottles of soap...ext. There is a clear difference between the expectations of a AirBNB and renting a short term apartment....Furnished or not.

@@tylerowenfit I found out complaints are handled differently, it’s best just to carry on. @@CanTho2022 I stayed in the junior suite at Hotel Dubai on the corner of D. Ng. Thi si street and Trần Bạch Đằng street in the An Thuong area with a view to the sea. It has an elevator but I didn't here it. I could here people talking in the hallway though. You also can hear the ocean and the beach road Võ Nguyen Giap. So if you have a problem with noise you should look for a hotel in a more quiet area away from the sea and big streets.
@@skjoennemand ….agree 100%. I am 58 years old and can’t stand noise….especially at night. I guess I need to go further in..perhaps crossing the bridges into the inland peninsula….
@@CanTho2022 you don't need to go that far. An Thuong 7,8,9 or maybe 40 and those areas are pretty quiet.
HOW ABOUT VISA ....
What about it
So you got 24 hour convenience shop like a 7-Eleven underneath you? That’s a good thing that’s what I like close by when I’m in Southeast Asia but then he always got a wine and blogger. Oh the roosters too loud I’m I’m two steps too far from my Starbucks, how can I live?😅😅😅
Agreed. At the end of the day these are first world problems. I don't take things like that into account when looking for acomidation. If there is a bed, kitchen, bathroom, wifi, and a good surrounding environment I will take care of what else might not be included such as hand soap you are mentioning.
@@tylerowenfit I found out complaints are handled differently, it’s best just to carry on. In the Philippines, hosts really don’t care about the review and almost take it personally even if the issues are valid and you were respectful. Trash, plumbing issues and bugs should be concerns you can bring up. Best to just pay, leave and find another host to try again. You are at a disadvantage as a foreigner.
I pay 100 usd in Vientiane Laos❤ with everything easy and cheap. Laos is number 1 now
No beach, totally different vibe
USD500 is over priced based on your video in Da Nang. Perhaps you should look around what you really can get for this budget in the future. I’m not sure your location in Da Nang. Therefore, it’s hard to make a definitive opinion about it. Well. USD500 rent is not considered cheap particularly in Da Nang.
Yes that is what a lot of people are commenting on this video. Although 500$ is not considered cheap in Da Nang it is VERY CHEAP in America. Therefor this is very cheap for someone like myself who is paying 3-4 times that for the same set up in America. Thanks for your input and thank you for supporting my channel!
Love it
:)
Your place is a tip - don't you tidy it and keep it clean?
You are drying a towel on an electrical TV?
yes
Hey Tyler, how old are you man?
30
👍💛
Get the TOP FLOOR so you won’t hear people above you!
For a studio. $500 is more then the standard
People are so brutal in your comments section. Sorry for you, man.
I hope you've grabbed yourself a bargain for your second place!
You got ripped hard sorry
It's not being ripped my friend when you are gaining knkowledge about a place you have never been to. I would also be paying tripple this in the sates where I am from. There's no rip. Not even a tear my friend.
You got ripped
@@tylerowenfitit's not the USA. It's the cheapest big city in a low-cost living country. Places on AirBnb are overpriced in Vietnam. This place is worth max 300$
Again. It's perspective from an individuals reality. In the USA you are paying triple to stay in a place like this so close to the beach in a nice area. Here I am paying a third less. Thanks for your input. @@kriskravt3428
@@tylerowenfit the main point is that you could pay even less than you pay now
I believe that Studio is Over price Trust me...that's the reason I dont trust in BNB ....they always want to take advance of u....I sujest walk around the Town and talk with the owners of property definitely u will find cheapy deal for sure...
It's lower but you're living in a third world country so comparing to the US is apples and oranges
Why would anyone want to travel or live there? I left April 1971 when the "locals" we doing their best to off us.......... no way i would go back.
Times have changed. It’s 2024...
were you in the war? LOL
You're excused. For younger people it's a different world.
You are being scammed. I paid 250€ a month for 45 m² one bedroom apartment which looked WAY BETTER than yours mate.
Da Nang is so much cheaper, compared to... let's say Phuket, Thailand. And even in Phuket you pay less than 500$ a month for something similar.
In fact, I just checked airbnb hotels for fun. One is 193€ for 1 month, slightly smaller than your room and one is 353€ literally 1 minute walk from the beach. No clue how you found such low quality apartment at such a high price.
You’re getting rip off bc you’re doing through Airbnb
Beautiful apartment but u don’t deserve it.😊
Not sure what that means. Thanks for watching.
@@tylerowenfit bad joke. 😣

500 usd has to be compared not to Florida but to the location where you are....it makes sense doesnt it?
I think you do not understand what is like living abroad hahaha
Compare the English of your neighbor in Florida to the one in Da Nang hahah or the pizza with the noodles 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉
Been with Airbnb for 15 years. It is not a good platform NOW!!
Reasons being?
I've stayed in 175 rentals in my 16 years with Airbnb no more!!!
The Philippines inflation is really bad. Hi rise condos that were 10k pesos are now 40 to 50k. Leaving here after 8 years. Great people! The Phil have NOTHING worth staying for. NOTHING!😢😂😂
Thanks for giving me your thoughts on the situation in the Philippines.
