Thanks for the video Will. I’m selling everything I own, my house, my van, everything I own in the UK to live in Da Nang in January/February. It’s always good to see videos like this. I’ll be using Da Nang as a base to do travel vlogs like yourself.
I was having the same conversations in the same pub with the same people that I was 10 years ago so, with no family at all and no pets, it’s time for an adventure. Life’s too short!
Subscribed. Hope you get monetised soon Will 👍
Hey man I really appreciate it. I've been to 18 countries nine in Europe 9 in Asia and so far this has been the best city for what you get for what you pay. I think you will enjoy this city. Really appreciate you watching my video and subscribing thanks again. 👍👍

No problem at all Will. I think you’re right about Da Nang. I must have watched 200 hours of vlogs about the place. I feel I could walk around the place already and not get lost and I’ve not even been yet! 🤣
As soon as the house sells and my money is in the bank I’ll be there. Keep up the good work 👍

@@tangoist4 it's pretty much my number one favorite city that I've been to so far. I definitely enjoy this city. I still have not been able to find an equivalent city in any other country like danang
It's funny you show and also stayed at the Yen Vy apartment and hotel as I just booked a 3 week stay there from this Saturday. I have lived in Da Nang since early March and have noticed that a lot of the apartments I hav viewed have looked hardly anything like they do in the photos.
@@shaunpierce4174 yen vy what's my very first place I ever stayed at in danang. If I'm going to stay at a hotel I prefer Mona Lisa apartment /hotel. It's a really good value for what you get. That's why I primarily stick to staying to apartments especially since I stay long-term.

Hey Will. cool video. Really enjoy your Da Nang content. Can you recommend some good places for Breakfast??
I don't really go out to breakfast much but the one place I do go to is this place called, pallet. They have a local dish called Bo ne. It's basically like a deconstructed bahn mi sandwich or their version of steak and eggs with a side of their bahn mi bread And it's only 40,000 ($1.80)
Thank you for your time and posting. Checking out VN in October to see if I want to retire there in January. My budget for a room will be US$800, but I want a pool and gym.
@@Mr.DJones yes no problem. I think you could find an amazing place if you're renting for $800 for the rent. The most I've ever paid here was 550 and that included electricity water Netflix Wi-Fi and the rent including two bedrooms and two bathrooms one block away from the beach.
❤😊 so cute saying Xin chao!!😂
Hi Will, thanks for your video. I currently live in District 3 of HCMC but considering moving to Đà Nẵng. I was also noticing the traffic and sidewalks as you walked around. Nothing like the crazy traffic in HCMC which is organized chaos. Also, glad to see that there are actually unbroken sidewalks and room to walk on them. As I'm sure you know, the sidewalks in HCMC are mostly broken with little room to walk due to parked motorbikes.
Yes the traffic is a lot different here than there but it's still crazy especially for someone that's coming from the United States. 😄 I've been to about five cities in Vietnam so far and this by far is my favorite overall.

Interesting to see what you can get for your money in Da Nang - and that's quite a lot. Your current apartment is lovely, but I can understand why you want to downsize.
If I had to choose between the apartments shown, I would choose the first one. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than the last one, but the difference is 1.3 USD per day and I would definitely prioritise spending that.
@@laussrensen4541 and to be honest with you if you go a little bit further out from the beach more into the city you can get stuff for even less than what I showed you. You could easily find a solid good one-bedroom here for about $250. I'm just a little picky and love the beach area and love a larger size place. But if you are either fine with a smaller place or a little bit further from the beach you could easily find something for $200 to $250.
I love the city it's one of my favorite cities that I've been to. I haven't found a better City that offers better bang for your buck.
@@Willtravelz If you're on a very limited budget, it makes sense to go as cheap as possible. But if you can actually pay a little more, it's often worth it.
@@laussrensen4541 yes definitely. If you're willing to pay more than what I have here you could have an amazing place. Probably with a pool a great view all kinds of amenities.

Hi Will, I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Thanks for all the great info. Is there any studio and one bedrooms where you are currently residing? What beach are you by? And are there lots of restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. Thanks!
Yes there's tons of studios studios you can actually even get for maybe $200 in that range many options for me I just enjoy a larger space which is the only reason I get a larger place and pay more.
If you agree to pay 3 to 6 months at a time then you can get the price down some more.
@@justsayin664 yes I definitely heard that the problem is I'm never really sure of how long I'm going to stay in one place I travel so much. But if I knew for certain that I would be in one city for long enough I would definitely try to negotiate and get a price lower by telling them I would stay longer.
Choosing Da Nang was definitely the right decision-it's one of the most livable cities in Vietnam.
@@eaglediscovery88 yes I agree I've been here in the city on and off for over a year. I still can't find an overall better /cheaper city.
Great video. What a great view from apartment. Would $50-70 include running the aircon 24/7?
@@seemore4606 yes I have three air conditioners in my place but I only run the one in my bedroom 24 hours a day. So that estimation is with one air conditioner running all day and all night.
You look happy traveling which is nice to see . I plan on eventually living in da nang few months a year mainly for beach lifestyle. I also live near the beach here in lovely 🇺🇸. Do u ever feel like they tell u apt is already taken even though it’s not ? I hope to be with a local Vietnamese to accompany me when I do business there .
Yes I enjoy staying in da nang. I usually find the opposite usually when I see apartments available I will message them and they'll already be gone. Shockingly apartments get rented pretty fast here. And then they don't take down the ad or they will try to tell you that they have other places available. So my best advice would be if you really like a place to jump on it when you see it.
Wow, Perfect, $ 320. I'll take it, lol .. I love separate rooms (bedroom living room).. It helps, where "you live" psychologically, just to be able to change rooms (space) ..
@@enzos711 Yes I tried to tell lots of people that too. A lot of people come and travel and try to stay in tiny little studios because it's a few dollars cheaper. But if you're going to travel for a while or just want some kind of break it's always good to have the extra space to go hang out and do other things in.
I like small but I’m old
Question. Are u driving on a scooter yet??
@@MSWcryptoworker there's great deals for you if you're willing to take smaller places. All the places I looked at were somewhat larger which cost more. So if you could do a studio or something even smaller you would spend even less than what I mentioned in the video. Maybe between $200 and $250.
You should check the water pressure. Also tell us bout any smells
Great info will!
Thanks. 👍👍
Hey buddy, great video. Do you have to notify a month in advance at your current apartment before moving out?
@@jb3326 I don't actually have a lease I just keep renewing it every month with my landlord. So for myself I don't have to I usually tell her a couple of days before that I would like to stay another month. But I do know that I'm a rare situation most people here do 2 to 3 month leases. And I don't think it's that common to have to tell a month in advance out here like it is in the USA and other places.
Wow! Look at the view @00:36!
Yes I really like the view also.
I am flying from Houston, Texas to Da Nang TODAY. Will be there Wednesday. If it possible to rent a FURNISHED HOUSE for one month???? Do I have to go through a REALTOR? Please advise…

@@CanTho2022 almost everything you rent here that I've seen is fully furnished. So you have multiple options you can go through agoda, that's mostly for hotels but there is a few apartments on their. You could do what I did and join the expat group here in Danang. What I did was just make a listing of my requirements and my budget and put my dates that I wanted to stay in a bunch of people message me about available places. Or you could just literally walk around in the neighborhood and go into each one of these places that are apartments and ask them if they have anything that fits your budget and take a look at it in person like I did in the video.

Your apartment is very nice and the $550 with all including is good. The only concern would be fire hazards I’m sure the maintenance in this elevator and all the other things are not in compliance with fire safety standards. My pick would be first floor

In Germany Pay for the Rent like in Vietnam location about 1500 Eur
@@mais6105 exactly. Same as in the USA. That's a major reason I left the United States to come out here to live in Asia. I've been to 18 countries since 2019 and so far danang Vietnam has been the overall best and cheapest City for which you get for the price.
Yes, but you have a doner kebab shop on one corner and an African flea market on the other . You should count your blessings
But in Germany someone with a bed sheet and a knife I’ll choose Vietnam 😅
Will do they NOT have smaller units in your apartment building ?
They actually have one bedrooms here but they're actually not that much cheaper which is a big reason why I got a two bedroom. A one bedroom is only about 40 to $80 cheaper a month. And I heard most of the one bedrooms don't have that good of view. So to me the one bedrooms weren't worth it compared to renting a two bedroom.
Hi, is it possible to find an apartment (studio) or house a little further from the beach for about 250 or 280 US dollars? Thank you.
@@vsalasarcr Yes that's definitely possible The one bedroom that I showed you was only about $320 so a studio you could easily get for that price or less. I'm not interested in a studio but I've definitely seen them at that price or lower in the area for sure
Are you more likely to find cheap apartments for rent in person? I feel like the ones advertised online are priced quite high?
I have mixed feelings about that. I have went into places and they have not wanted to negotiate. I prefer to look for my place on Facebook expat groups. I feel you have much more power especially skipping an agent and trying to deal directly with a landlord. Current place that I'm staying at now I found on a Facebook expat group and negotiated with my landlord directly.
hey buddy! love your video.
Can i ask u something? do u think its a good idea to smoke weed in da nang? is it okay to smoke at a balcony? will the hotel/apt owners call cops on me? thanks!
I'm not sure exactly but I know laws are more strict than a country like the USA.
How did you find an apt. in Muong Thanh? We went there and there wasn't rental office because they're condo's and are owned privately if I remember correctly. Either way it was a dead end.
I actually found it in an expat group on Facebook and dealt directly with the owner (no agent) I find that to be the best way.

May I ask how you are able to stay in Vietnam for this long? You certainly have a big apartment for the price. I hope you are happy with whatever decision you make
So luckily Vietnam is very cheap. Much cheaper than living in USA. The key is to work online (making American $) which then allows you to live comfortably here in Vietnam.

@@sonisheree what you heard me saying in Vietnamese is probably almost the most that I can speak. Just a few words. 😅 So you definitely can get by with English I use Google translate or I point if they can't speak English at certain places.
Do you use big 5 gallon water bottle for your apartment or 16 oz bottle? I think 16 oz bottle is much more expensive. Maybe double or triple the price
@@magnetoforce704 yes I get the 5 gallon water luckily it's right downstairs in my condo. It's about the equivalent of about a $1.50 for 5 gallons. If you go get a small water bottle it's about 50 cents. And the one or two gallons at the store are ready a dollar a $1.50 by themselves.
So it's a much better deal to get the bigger 5 gallon for the same price sometimes even cheaper than the smaller bottles.
