I was an extra in Godsend. They shut down an entire street in Toronto for 3 days. They brought in and set up street props and put up a sprinkler system so that it would rain down the entire street. They ran all the extras through a full day of rehearsals. They shot the entire third day and flew in the stars to shoot. Robert De Niro, Craig Kilborn, and Rebecca Romijn. The entire shoot ended up being 3 seconds in the opening credits! How much did that cost?
Aliens had a budget of about $60m after inflation. It had no CGI, great actors, great writing, great direction, and the single greatest set design in movie history.
There is no excuse.
I read an article years ago about George Lucas warning about studios getting too financially irresponsible, now the bubble’s bursting and studios are losing more than they’re capable of making back.
The plots for modern movies are as predictable as the ones produced by the adult entertainment industry. We already know what is going to happen.

Modern Hollyweird is a joke haven't watched anything that they made anymore.
The best analogy i can give is cinema used to be like fine dining, youd pay to go see an amazing movie maybe once a month if that to be wowed like with fime dining restaurants, yes sometimes you'd get the odd shit movie or dinner but the overall point wss to experience something you rarely get to experience, now cinema is like fast food everyone is trying to get as much as possible as quick as possible with no care for quality just like fast food
Bad stories, bad or paid actors, too many dumb "politic" messages, no new ideas or gently mainstream : as in real life ! Not my cup of tea the last 30 years...
Some notable outliers, but I do agree.
Chris Gore over on Film Threat has suggested some fixes for this though, and he's been around the movie business for decades.
1. Move back to practical effects. They're much cheaper than digital.
2. Stop with the reshoots. These are ballooning up the budget. Have your script and vision in tip top shape to begin with before shooting begins
3. Stop with the woke BS!!!! People want to see their heroes struggle to overcome inherent weaknesses and moral failings in their own character. They don't want to watch a sermon. That's why most religious movies don't do well.

People gave Shazam 2 bad reviews but i liked it. Could've been better acting and dialog, but it was still a good movie.

Modern movies don't suck, there's no decline in artistic creativity, there's not that much reliance on remakes, no generes aren't past their peak, but budgets are indeed higher. People seem to expect too much from movies these days for some reason. There's rarely any outward for praise for movies anymore, there's just complaining about writing, acting, plotholes, cgi, and what characters look like. Yes, I realize those things are important but they get complained about far more than they should.
This is boring where is th video games woman
If you think it's "boring", just look at Sarah (aka Bunnymon). You'll "grow" to appreciate her.
