Drinkers writing is so lethal. I love how someone can be so venomous yet objectively truthful
Black Panther 2 didn't have a Black Panther in it. I still haven't see it
The genre died if the formula is dull. DUH
I think the whole superhero movie genre need a big brake
“Break”…

Oh bunny I'm happy you came over to his side on some of it.
It's failings because they added new things like woke culture
Ya, I’m over superhero movies.
People like you who supported Thor Love and Thunder helped kill the Superhero movie.
Drinker is brilliant.
The problem, IMHO, is that the movies and shows are now being written by people who have little talent to begin with but who check the right political and diversity boxes. These people then have little interest in story telling, narrative building, character development, etc. - instead they only care about ensuring that the show push the appropriate narrative and agenda, check all of the correct diversity boxes and then shit all over the fans by calling them names if they point any of this out.
Solid idea! Create animation adaptations of popular comic books/series/stories just like the anime-manga industry.
Disney should take a page out of PIXARs own The INCREDIBLES there’s so much that movie nailed to the point where age does not matter because it’s intelligent entertaining and ACTUALLY EQUAL REGARDLESS OF GENDER & BATMAN & ROBIN DONE RIGHT! Also to add to the delicious sundae it’s the closest anyone is to get for a actual FANTASTIC 4 1/2 movie I’m including Jack-Jack. & It has a little bit of 007 and MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE for good measure and it’s a early futuristic 1960s period piece. BUT THEY’LL NEVER DO IT BECAUSE…. AGENDA.
Sorry I disagree I'm so bord with superhero films they are so cheesy and predictable
Thor 4 was horrible, but I'll give Taika Waititi a little credit, he did try to change up the formula, at least a little bit.
Bunny was talking about DC and Marvel making animation superhero movies, like with Spider-Man. There is a TV show (I know it’s not a movie) on MAX called My Adventures with Superman. It originally broadcasts on Adult Swim, but goes on MAX the next day, and the show is animated. Season 1 is already out. I wonder why this show didn’t become a movie? 🤔
don't fall for the "star wars fatigue" or " super hero movie fatigue"
NO !!!! all of it comes down to
GARBAGE movie fatigue
Ah the Drinker.
Allot of it has to do with the writing, forcing some agendas and attacking/ insulting fans.
I don't really think I'm going to be to interested in any superhero movies until new X-Men and fantastic four come out, and even with them i am very skeptical they will donit right... Wolverine for example is a no win situation now, if it's hugh Jackman again it will be same old character we've seen, but if they get someone else people will compare that person to hugh Jackman.. i am just hoping they do better with rogue this time, and maybe we can see the story between rogue and Captain marvel.
It's superhero exhaust for me. Outside of The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker I haven't cared since Endgame.
I'll get around to watching the Harley Quinn show (on Max) at some point because it's supposed to be very good, but other than that meh.
I think social realism movies needs to make a comeback for a few years. As much as I love things like Battlestar Galactica, Farscape or Firefly with their high concept moral explorations, if you asked me what TV show every 15 year old should watch right now? It'd be Derek, Afterlife or the original The Office. Especially Derek. It would be a few bleak years but we need to come back down to earth, turning off the screens and touching some grass, leave the gods and their squabbles alone for a bit. Just as the baby boomers got to do.
I'm sure there are plenty of these type of stories around but we need some new Hamlets and Scarlet O'Hara. Derek is a perfect example but who watched that? Does Oppenheimer count? I don't think he does.
That’s what happened in the 1970s. Movies changed from epic historical blockbusters like Ben Hur, Cleopatra and Spartacus to gritty realism movies like Dog Day Afternoon, Dirty Harry and The Godfather. Star Wars flipped the switch in 1977 back to blockbusters.
I’d personally put it down to bad movie fatigue. Fact is. We were spoiled by movies like infinity war and the first avengers movies which are timeless imo, and they tried to chase a trend and do it on the cheap because they thought every movie they put out would make a billion dollars, but trends eb and flow and eventually audiences stop going to movies when they see the effort from the creatives isn’t there anymore
I'll tell you the exact reason why The Batman didn't more success because it wasn't a generic superhero film people don't appreciate good comic book films anymore people just want the MCU garbage in my opinion the MCU ruined superhero movies now every superhero film is generic, stale, and extremely formulaic The Batman deserved more success because it's the only superhero film besides Joker that was as good as The Dark Knight but thanks to the MCU people didn't appreciate it enough because it didn't have over the top CGI and bad jokes every five minutes so their peanut brains couldn't handle it
I think we'll get a flood of X-men and FF soon to try and make up the huge debt from the Fox deal, but unless they are much better than the recent crap the genre really will be mostly done.
I believe xmen 97 will be out soon. Could be used as a gateway for more modern marvel fans to have good superhero characters to root for
That being said, these problems aren’t just with marvel, it’s Disney as a whole, the company is built to be based around 1 guy and that’s Bob Iger, if Disney wants to start the road to recovery, he needs to be ousted, but that won’t happen cus he has the board on his side and he’s in till at least 2026
Seems industry wide, even if Disney is the biggest offender, I find myself struggling to find a beloved IP that hasn't been severely damaged due to terrible writing and obnoxious messaging.
There's a lot of super heros they've never even mentioned in a movie that are not well known but could have truly creative movies made of them like for example guillotine from marvel could make an amazing movie and could have a wonderful horror element to it.
Also if they used a blend of less complex and over worked CGI and practical effects stuff would look better nothing looks more realistic than a real explosion something movie studios did with practical effects back in the day and they always look real instead of like a video game explosion
Blue Beatle is awsome loved it
I agree with the rabbit lady.
superhero fatigue wouldn't happen if they still made good superhero movies. You pointed out a good fact when you said they're just repeating the same thing over again. New hulk, new captain America, new hawkeye, new black panther, new iron man, new black widow, three marvels. New isn't always better and it's actually worse when they don't take the time to build these new characters up. Looking back on Marvel over the last few years, it really looks like they couldn't wait to replace all the old characters with new, younger versions.
Take everything Critical Drinker says with a pinch of salt. He's based his rep by attacking everything.
Not really, he’s based his rep on being a drunk asshole at times, but he has praised a few good shows and movies like Sisu, Across the Spiderverse and even Picard season 3.
"Attacking" you mean critique the movies that really deserve it.
Feminine sad person detected, opinion rejected
I go to movies and make up my own mind. I don't listen to idiot critics or online morons. Why would I care what they say? Relax nerds; It's all make believe and it aint that serious
