Designed by the legendary H.R. Giger and played by Bolaji Badejo this monster has gone down in cinema history, but have NECA made the perfect organism or is it just a bad egg?…you decide.

    That is an awesome quarter scale 79 Alien figure, I remember back in the early 1980's an old friend of mine bought a quarter scale alien figure and got it cheap from a car boot sale but there was no box to it though, and it looked just like this alien figure you have here but only difference was there is a trigger you pull under the back of the head and when you pulled the trigger in it would make the mouth of the alien open and it's second set of teeth would shoot out, and when you let go of the trigger the teeth would go back in and the mouth would close, it was absolutely awesome, I kept pestering him to sell it to me but he wouldn't lol... but because it had no box I have struggled over the years to find out what company made that alien with the trigger mouth opening and teeth shooting out version so I could maybe buy one myself, I don't even know if that version is still even made or be able to get hold of one.

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Wow🤩 I’ve got to say I am just a little bit jealous as I would love to own the original, not only is it a piece of toy history but a really sound investment as well. Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

    It's horrific, even at that size! The paint job is absolutely perfect. I'd love to see how they do a professional paint job on one of these. It must take several hours per figure.

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 the paint job on this figure is amazing and as good as if not better than alot of Alien statues that come in at 5 or 6 times the cost 🤯 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 this is definately some of NECA’s best work imo. A bit jealous at this end as I would love to own the orginal Kenner version…not exactly screen accurate but a piece of figure and toy history 👏🏻 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

    Great video again very good detail all around along with you I had to use a kaiser 3075 figure stand I wish more companies gave matching stands and not just high end figures

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 a figure this good really does deserve a decent diorama type stand, it would add a bit to the cost but imo it would be worth it…a nostromo styled base would set this figure off perfectly. Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

    What an imagination to envisage such a creature😯so so impressive one of the all time great cinema monsters and a fantastic piece to own and have in your collection. Very well done by Neca with tremendous accurate details and great paint work. It genuinely is the stuff of nightmares and just further cements Ripleys position as the best female action movie character to date . Enjoyed Romulus and it’s nods to the previous alien films, some genuinely scary moments and a good watch I would say. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this remarkable piece, have a great rest of the weekend and as always mind how you go.

      Thanks…support…comments etc 🤣 Absolutely 💯 a fantastic figure of probably the most scary and iconic monster in cinema history and some of NECA’s best work. Like Ridley Scott said…no Giger no Alien. Its good to hear you enjoyed Romulus, I haven’t seen it yet but I’m hearing good things. The best in the franchise so far apparently….Alien and Aliens not with standing of course. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, take care of yourself and happy collecting👍🏻

    I got one of these too and love it. I only really cherry pick their 8" Mego scale figures, but couldn't reaist this with the Kenner packaging.

    I like the original one but getting the legs to attach was a nightmare. I really love this one though!
    If I were too nitpick I’d say the inner jaw is too dark, it should be much lighter but that’s only a very minor gripe. I love it.
    Does it come with a stand? A great video.

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 I never owned the original but like you say a couple of very minor gripes aside this is a phenomenal piece.
      Unfortunatelly no stand with this one…it would really benefit from good diorama base/stand. Take care of yourself and happy collecting 👍🏻

    Looks awesome,could you pose him crouching down or does he really only work standing upright? Would prefer a more dynamic pose but looks limited?

    • @goFigure623
      @goFigure623  25 днів тому +1

      Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 To be honest I had never tried to pose him crouching until you mentioned it so I gave it a shot. Now I wish I had done it for the showcase at the end of the review 🤣 Absolutely 💯 you can pose him crouching and very good he looks too, it takes a bit of futzing but the joints will take it and it doesn’t over stress the articulation. Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

    Heh. Great fig. I did get one, but ruined it. I was using it for reference (if you've seen the 40 years 40 artists book I did one in there), but left it in the sun over the weekend and it warped so much I just can't get it back... ah well! hey what's your name in Will's group mate if that's OK? I'm Matt. One thing I disagree on a bit. Giger would *not* have been proud of the skull and eyes under there (that stuff further back, sure). After putting it in initially, he and Scott decided it was so much scarier if you *can't* see the humanity in there - hiding it made the alien inscrutable with no face to be sympathetic with. Just nasty teeth and such. I think it was a brilliant decision and absolutely works. I can't stand the modern "Skulldome" movement. People are so literal-minded it drives me nuts because they miss such an important part of the creature and the intent of the film. Anyway that's my little rant! Thanks again for the vid mate! Seeing this... I need to get another one!

    • @goFigure623
      @goFigure623  26 днів тому +1

      Thanks as always for your comments and support its much appreciated 👍🏻 Are you the Matt responsible for “Juvenile Xenomorph” in 40 years 40 artists? If so that is some outstanding work right there👏🏻 I’m James D in Wills group, I dont post as often as I used too…too busy making UA-cam videos 🤣 I get what your saying about the skull and the eyes, I was refering more to the skull itself than anything else, the desicion to omit the eyes was absolutely the right one imo. It looks fantastic in the conceptual art (have you ever been to the museum in Gruyere? it’s amazing😳) but like you say it adds to the inhumanity and mystery removing them. When they finally gave the hybrid eyes in Ressurection a collective laugh ran through the cinema, which I’m pretty sure was not the desired effect. Take care of yourself and happy collecting.

      @@goFigure623 Oh man I wish to go to the Museum and bar some day. Long way from Oz! And yeah the newborn - I can see the thinking, but it just ended up looking like a guy wearing a skull mask and looking out from inside! I mean Amalgamated Dynamics did a great job (I have been there!), but it's one of those design things. And Chris Cunningham/Halls is a bloody genius and his dog Alien stuff on 3 from when he was a bloody teen for crying out loud is sickeningly great. But I think a lot of the dark humour of his art is hard to translate, especially the A4 stuff. His stunted clones were great though. And yeah that's the one, the juvenile. Printed up like crap though. The ones on my Insta are better (if you're interested!). They managed to stuff up the David's Drawings book too! And cool I'll know to look out for you in Will's group thanks! Cheers mate!
