I wish Hot Toys would get their act together and make a new more durable and screen accurate Big Chap, instead of all the Marvel/StarWars stuff they churn out.
This video was already cool 😎 but the fact that you took the time to acknowledge and thank your mate for the encouragement and inspiration is Epic 🎉 You really are one of the best in this space 👌 Cheers 🍻
Each figure brings something different to the table. They all look really good to be honest. Thanks, Dean! As always, I appreciate the hard work! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!
I kinda thought after seeing the new preview for the new ALIEN movie, that you might have a look back at figures, and you didn't disappoint! Great lineup and as always the best visual coverage! I still need to pull the trigger on one or two of these, (the Mafex!), but am glad I did get the NECA Ultimate one. Great video! You think NECA will do the updated Alien Big Chap type figure from the new movie too? They usually do keep up with Aliens and Preds....
Hey awesome countdown! I love to see other people's take on these figures. And thanks so much for the shout out. With alien Romulus coming out soon, it's my hope (SPOILERS)... that if the rumors about the Big Chap appearing in the film are true, Hot Toys will revisit the figure, largely because Fox is now owned by Disney and Hot Toys has a sizable contract with them.
Very nice. I just saw where Anthony from sixth scale Mafia got his Christopher Lee Dracula and Van Helsing figures from kaustic plastik. Really hope you do a review of them of them soon
I think it would be a great addition to speak to how much each figure cost at retail and/or what the “going rate” is these days. The Neca’s 7 inch scale is amazing for $36.99 in the quarter scale I scored from big bad toy store for $118. Obviously they may not be the best example, but for a lot of collectors who are on a budget, it comes down getting the most bang for your buck.
You alright Dean, your girlfriend as got some really good ideas my friend, my favourites are the Neca ones, small & big, trouble with the big one my friend had to put metal rods in the legs, they were bowing, not anymore though & you know that I'm a big fan of Big chap Alien 👍
I have always wanted to add a Big Chap to my collection of figures/statues.. fact is, i have always felt there is something better out there in the future, possibly? ..even the impressive Prime 1 Studio Big Chap failed to impress me, due to the weird color choice (not looking black enough).
A shame the Mafex big chap is not a stable figure. I would buy it in a heart beat. Also if you can, check out Hiya Toys "little chap". A fun little big chap to mess around with.
6:04 'the actor in the suit'. I read an interesting interview with the stunt man who played the part of Alien in the original movie. He claims the guy in the promo shots (as mentioned in your video) exited the movie all to soon and received most/all of the credit. The Alien suit he is pictured in was too heavy and impractical to use for the movie. The stunt man 'Eddie Powell' redesigned the suit to use it in the movie. The stunt man is of the opinion that he should have received the credit for playing the part of Alien. At the time he was promised credit. It never came to be. The interview with the stuntman appeared in an issue of Darkside Magazine. Some say 90% of Alien seen in the movie is Eddie Powell.
Something about NECA I just don’t like. I feel like the paint jobs are just … plain? It may be that hard all over plastic too. It’s almost like there’s no variation in texture, paint, or material. It gives Halloween blow molds or something, but shellacked. They look like lacquered bronze statues and not an action figure. They’re so rigid and overall flat looking with paint and material variation. MacFarlane toys give me the same feel often.

Hopefully they give us a new one with the next movie
Great job the entire alien design is unbeatable imo.
Many thanks 🤜🤛 Yes, the original is the best by miles.
@@deanknight333 we need more alien isolation appreciation from companies though that design is so damn good

Great stuff! cheers for the heads up on strange form,
Damn I’ve been considering the hot toys but seeing how much cheaper the medicom goes is insane

Wow Dean!? Love all your Entire, Massive Alien Figures Collection! The Designed and Detailing looked Terrifying Phenomenal! 👽👽👽👍👍
Awesome video Dean mate, there all awesome in there own way. 😎👍
Picked up that neca one recently. It's a beautiful piece
Awesome video dean completely agree with the mafex at 1 he is frustrating to work with but once set most accurate imo as well
The Koto is the best. I always tell everyone that. Happy to see you agree, Dean 🤘 but of course, I love Neca, too
It would be nice to have a video or short showing some posing so we can make the best out of each figure.
