Nice start to your rig. I personally am not going over 285/75/17's mainly for the fact my FJ is my daily driver. With all the steel i have on it im pushing 15mpg already on 33's. I dont crawl anyways so no biggie there. Plus id still like to fit in my garage...haha!
I got a 07 Fj with 3 inch bilstein lift . OME rear springs and stock springs on the front. SPC upper control arms . 33 ko2s on 16" Jdm aluminum racing mags. All wheel opening mldgs , mud flaps and the front bumper side wings removed . Keeps the moisture and rust from being trapped and eating your qrtr pnls unknowingly. Only a slight rub on the drivers side body mount when backing up and front wheels turned hard to driver. No body chop . Slight rub on driver's side body mount , never passenger. Thing takes me anywhere I need to go in the mountains of British Columbia. Drives 130 kms down the hwy with zero issues. No re gearing either . Drives nice . Wife steals it from me daily .
thank you bro, this video was informative, I to will be getting 35's , what i didn't know is I could find some tires on offerup like you. i will look into that part.
35s? FJs are already running around with 37s nowadays. All you need for no rub true 35s is an aggressive BMC and as much caster possible. Stock UCAs won't cut the mustard.
@@STEEZGarage they just updated us a few days ago. They're almost done running their 3rd prototype. The kit is well worth it for me since I do a lot of rock crawling and high speed desert racing. Running 4.56s front e-locked. Eventually swapping out the auto for a manual and adding a tacobox. Im not wasting my money on regearing again for the 40s. The new 6mt out of the 16+ tacoma has good enough gear ratios to make it work on the streets.
2010 fj 3 inch on 35s body mount chop here.....yes they "fit" but fit and flex are too different things. For a mall crawler you'll be fine but any trails and your gonna hit inner fender if at a slight turn. Just fyi
@@STEEZGarage Im a FJ owner with 35's and your full of s*it that it doesn't gear hunt in Drive going up any grade of a hill. You absolutely need at minimum 4.56 re-gear and BMC mod.

You need to upgrade your suspension BMC and after market UCA, I'm running procomp 3 inch lift freedom uca and 16x9 scs stealth wheels 315/75/16 with no problem.
Thanks for the tips! I’ve only had the FJ for about a year now and just upgrading what I can. I for sure need UCA’s here in the near future. How’s the procomp?
Yer truck looks awesome. I think ya should keep the plastic fender flares. Ken at Offroad Hub removed his and it really looks unfinished just IMO. Anyone who bad mouths an FJ is just envious and jealous also IMO.

it’s a work in progress, I used to run 33’s perfectly. But my goals have changed and so has my set up. Why do I need to make the mods in advance when I don’t “overland” everyday of the year? What’s wrong with having a trasharoo and gas can? Please explain.

@@STEEZGarage Nice! Looking forward to seeing the upgrades.
@@STEEZGarage how big is 285 75s? And can you put that on stock lift?

what rims are those? nice video!
Where do you go offroading?
the mall
Places other than the road
Great video! Thank you for sharing

Same setup I drive in 4th all around town unless I’m going on the freeway. Drives Better than before doesn’t have to keep hunting

I can hit hard rock gardens with very little to no rub. And I’m only lifted 2 1/2
Meh. I'm getting an OME lift but I still only want 33's.
You'll be happy with it, don't even have to mess with gearing or anything really. The FJ loves 33's
