  • A quick flight in the FSR500 from Boonville to Ells Willits in Microsoft Flight Simulator - playing with the Garmin G1000NXi, and following an RNAV approach involving a hold. Good fun! You never know - with a few more flights in the FSR500 under my belt I might actually become proficient with it. It really doesn't like slowing down :)
Note - as mentioned in the notes of my previous "first look" video - the documentation for the FSR500 is linked to in the tablet within the aircraft. It is NOT in the installation folder. It's one of the best guidebooks I've seen provided for an aircraft in the simulator.

Don’t worry about the people complaining about your first look videos. They are my go to to get exactly that, a quick first look, and they don’t need to be perfect. We are all capable of seeing things ourselves that are omitted or overlooked ;). Appreciate your work!

Your procedure for pressurization is not correct. The correct procedure is outlined in page 6-13 of the manual: "with the engine running and the main cabin door fully closed and latched, the pilot simply needs to push the bleed air lever to open the supply of conditioned bleed air from the P3 compressor, switch the ECS Cabin Comfort to NORM and make sure the Destination Elevation is set using the TMR/REFS softkey 11 on either of the PFDs. It will also be set automatically if importing a SimBrief flight plan via the EFB (but can be altered any time by using the TMR/REFS softkey). "

Can’t believe the rate you put these videos out! Always look forward to the latest one. Great stuff.

This aircraft is super. The best in MSFS too now. Very good feeling here for everything

I almost bought this, I bought the Honda Jet instead. I’m very happy with the purchase, it’s an amazing plane that’s done very well and everything works. The Piper is my next purchase, very nice plane.

According to the manual you can deploy the first notch of flaps and extend the gears at 168 KIAS, which ought to help you slow down (as opposed to side slipping) 🙂

    Willits is on .TO 👍

A update is coming tomorrow for this

NEGATIVE on turning the taxi light on…. Nav light and rotating beacon if you have it.

I've got the TBM 850 steam gauge, TBM 930 with G3000 (default plane) but this turboprop as a customized G1000 so it's unique enough to purchase. I'll get it in the future. To get the banana, use the menu to the left of the map. It's somewhere in there. Great video. Lots of fun to watch.

This aircraft looks interesting. I'm more of a Cessna 170B kind of pilot, but this might be a fun challenge. I have the Hjet for this sort of thing and I do enjoy taking it for a spin once in a while too.

Jonathan - you are my go to for all my info and so I bought this based on your first review despite what you were apologizing for.

  • @ironmanballer4868

This is a wonderful aircraft however I feel more comfortable in the TBM I find my computer set up does better with analog

  • @starfoxfilms9872

when I want to start the plane's engine respecting the checklist and the order, the engine does not start and I do not understand why

  • @philsMLC

If you’d opened the charts for O28 in Navigraph, there is a chart for that approach.

  • @joshuaspop8865

Beautiful airplane, but I find the flight model to be just bad. It’s a twitchy mess, even though it performs correctly to published numbers.
