Ferrying the A2A Comanche after Auction with no repairs. (Bad idea!)

- I set the Comanche to Auction, thus simulating if you had bought at Auction. I chose to ferry it from KYKM to S40 (Prosser, WA) with no maintenance. BIG MISTAKE!

Speed control in this aircraft is very important. Don't lower the gear or flaps until you are slow enough to safely do so or you WILL damage them.
Reading the manual helps with prop and mp settings 😂
There was not much of anything wrong with the airplane, there was a lot wrong with your piloting.
Maybe so :), but something broke when I put the flaps down probably the flaps. That and the I couldn't bring the engine RPM's down. I did the exact same flight with a "NEW" Comanche and had zero issues getting into Prosser. My goal was to test the "auction" part of the sim and see if I could actually get there without checking out the plane first. It still made for a fun flight.
yes it was a very tricky situation and you mastered it well!
l love your demonstration of how the A2A Comanche works - l have now 50 plus hours on mine so it’s early days but the feeling of having to take good care of it elevates the sim to another experience!
💖
I over ran a runway and bent my prop along with other things... Thanks for sharing and good landing...
I lost total control on my approach in. The only way I could maintain level flight was to apply full left rudder to keep it in the air. Something broke. Which is what I was hoping would happen given the state of the aircraft.
To get that bottom tank to drain for the test you need to set the fuel tanks "on" in the cockpit, between the seats.
Also the autopilot beeping indicates your trim settings aren't good for the speed you're flying at, when the AP beeped with the UP light you needed to trim up a bit.
After that it auto silences.
Thank you! I did manage to download the manual.. just got to sit down a find some time to read it.
I've never seen instruments vibrate like that before!...... in real life.....
If you switch it to new condition they don't do that. I had some serious problems with the engine and probably should have never taken off.
The beeping is telling you that you need to learn about the systems in the plane before you fly it.
Where is the fun in that? 😂 Through mid flight I had a pretty good understanding of how the autopilot worked.
Everyone is free to play the game in whichever way is desired
A Ferry pilot always approach a plane as if it is going to kill him, and proceed knowing full well the risks. You did ok for the most part, but you should have probably leaned the engine to a dead stick once you made the runway, and lowered your gears. Overall. I enjoyed your video, but the alarms bugged me. You should have connected the dotts and figured out the alarm was associated to the auto pilot, on and of and on again. Good luck in the future.
Thank you.
Loved it! This is what makes the sim a great platform. Best way to learn.
That's an old tyre kicker lol... at least you walked away from it...
The beep is the trim warning. You should level off and trim before using the ap to hold alt.
I had my trim bound to a knob on my controller, unknowingly, and I'm thinking I may have brushed up against it which may have caused it to flip out. I have since deactivated that assignment.
Shocking. Everything was going so well before you dumped full flaps and gear at 160.
I couldn't slow it down and I control it. I dropped flaps to slow it down. The point of this video was to fly an aircraft purchased at auction that has not been maintained, which is one of the options on the tablet in the plane. I lost control on the approach, I couldn't drop RPM.
Holy crap that was scary at the end! You had your gear down but then raised it up it looked like lol but hey, you made the runway
Yeah, I goofed there.. 🤪 probably would have collapsed the gear though.
Very interesting! I'll also do an auction like this, let's see what happens!
Would have been interesting, what the inspection of the engine and the airframe looked like before takeoff and after landing
Yeah, I should have looked.
Fantástico.
Need to look at the check list.
I followed the checklists, but when I lost total control of the plane I wasn't too worried about the checklists anymore. Something actually broke while I was setting up my approach. It became uncontrollable and at first I thought I was going to put it in the river.
That was fun.
very professional
😆 yeah.. thanks.
I got the Comanche today. Landed ok but I managed to stall the engine right after landing while I was still on the runway.
First time this happened to me in a flight sim.
@zellhaufen8583 it's a great plane! Make sure to try the "Auction" mode and then don't fix anything prior to flight.
I lought so much I love the end !!! I watched the end 5 times and every time I laughed harder dude. I cant even type this comment cos I have tears in my eyes. Love the video. You deserve that sub bro. Well done and thank You!!!
Thank you! 😆
That was pretty squirrelly landing, I Think you broke the flaps by lowering them at such a high speed. You did great though.
Thank you.
I can honestly say I have never seen anything like that flight in my life. I will check your channel and see if you have improved with this fine plane. Read the manual and keep on keeping on.
I set it to bought at auction.. I wanted to see what it would do if I didn't check anything, and or do any repairs. I started experiencing engine problems at about the halfway point and when I was trying to set it up for landing something broke and I lost control. That was the whole point of the video, as it was to just see if any kind of failures would occur during flight.. and it did. It just stresses how important preflight is.. 😆
I love the Comanche and fly it all the time, it's one of the best addons out there for MSFS 2020!
I noticed your heading bug kept spinning during startup and I think taxi. It was weird lol it looked like it spun faster when it was starting.
I realized that as well, after the fact.. had that bound to one of my knobs on my controller and that was causing it. It has been changed.
It'll be fiiiine 🤣
Hey read the manual and the plane’s documentation 😊. Whats with that prop rpm? And not only
There was something going wrong with the plane. I couldn't control the rpm anymore.
oh dear 😅
did the flaps break because of the high speed?
Initially, the rpms went crazy and I couldn't control the engine at all. I dropped the flaps to try and drop some speed and probably broke them. I should have been a little more vocal about what I was experiencing but it caught me by surprise.
I think you broke the airplane exceeding the flaps and landing gear maximum speed 😅
Yeah, I think so too. 😆
