  • I recently discovered that you can sublimate on adhesive vinyl! Hello sticker game!!
    First I started with just using Oracal 651 because that is what everyone else was using, but I wanted to see what else I could use. I hopped onto JPIblanks.com and reached their house brand adhesive vinyl, grabbed a few rolls of both white and clear. When it arrived I had to test it right away! I did and LOVE the outcome. When it worked I just knew I had to do a tutorial for y'all.
    I used links are below just copy and paste the item into the search bar:
    Printer Jack sublimation Ink
    ASub sublimation paper ( I now use WalaSub Paper)

    Heat tape
    JPI Blanks house white and clear adhesive vinyl ( I now use WalaSub Vinyl)
    www.heattransferwarehouse.com...
    Epson ET 2720 printer (converted)
    Cricut Maker
    Be sure to check out my website as well for some great tutorials, jewelry making fun, and more! Remember to subscribe for more inexpensive and easy beginner projects!

    Also, if you have a Cricut...
    Cricut has a pretty sweet deal on machines and materials right now, you should totally check it out (if you do so using this link I will earn a little cash from your purchase at no extra cost to you!).

    Hellooo! I'm so glad I recently stumbled across your channel! I'm enjoying your videos, thank you for making them!
    I was wondering if you have used these on cups & tumblers? If you have, how has the color & vinyl itself held up (particularly on the white) over multiple washings? If decals seem to be successful, if you had to guess, how well do you think a full tumbler wrap would do if it was used as a way to save bad sublimation tumblers?

    • @CraftingUnedited
      @CraftingUnedited  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve used them on cups and on cars! Lol they hold up the same as the would without the sublimation.
      A full wrap as in like a whole sheet sticker? I am not too sure but I don’t see why not! Though the white is kind of transparent so some of the old might show through. But it’s worth a shot!

    • @CraftingUnedited
      @CraftingUnedited  3 роки тому +1

      It does not, and if you use regular mod podge over vinyl it will loose its stick quicker. Especially Cricut vinyl (learned the hard way. It’s meant to not need a sealant you could try the acrylic sealer though, it’s used for water slides normally but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for this purpose too. It will give it a little shine.
      It’s worth a test!

    Hi, I just found your video. I have a sublimation printer, Oracle 651 and a heat press. From what I have read, temp is 345 degrees for 25 secs, let cool and test corner, if faded look on border line then press again for 15 secs. Once cooled, take Asub paper off and let the Oracle 651 cure. How long does it need to cure and does each sheet need to sit separately? Ie I can't stack the sticker sheets while curing correct? Then once cured you can cut them on Cricut? Or cut then cure? thanks

    Can't wait to give this a try. I just bought a Cameo 4 so that I didn't have the cricut limitations on size for print and cut. I haven't tried it yet, but this would be a good project to test it. I was surprised that your temp was so low when you did the initial process. I thought it had to be at least 390 in order to convert the sub ink into a gas and onto the substrate?

    When I press my sub on Oracal gloss white which I assume is what you are using mine come out very dull and with that gross texture, the glossy is gone. I'm not sure how people get such good looking results

      You know, it’s taken me forever to get anything close to decent results. The truck is making sure your press is on point temperature wise, and that you are using oracle 651 and not a different brand (in my opinion)

      @@CraftingUnedited Yeah I'm using a sheet of Oracal 651 gloss white I picked up from Michaels to test using the same (and varying temps) but when I peel it off not only are the colors not vivid but it also leaves that transfer paper texture/residue or whatever behind, which doesnt just wipe off or anything. =\

      @@ChangeThaChannel your temp sounds too high. You can take a piece of thermal laminate paper and press it on top of your oracal 651. Let cool. • @CraftingUnedited
      @CraftingUnedited  3 роки тому +1

      I’ve never printed into oracal 651, when you sublimate the ink into the vinyl it’s in it like forever. If you print on it it’s just on it and if I’m not mistaken it would scratch off or wipe off. I’m not 100% though.

      You can print onto inkjet printable vinyl with regular inkjet printer and ink, HOWEVER... the quality won't be as crisp and vibrant as sublimation printing. You can only print on regular vinyl directly such as 651 with solvent or latex ink which you have to have a certain type of printer for that.

    my vinyl is shrinking - any thoughts or suggestions? Im cutting with a Cameo 4

    • @CraftingUnedited
      @CraftingUnedited  2 роки тому +1

      The vinyl will always shrink when it it put under heat. Even HTV shrinks (if you have ever done any type of layering you know) but What I recommend is making your offset a little larger or your image a tad smaller. The other way to minimize shrinking is to press multiple times at lower temps, but that is risky as well.
